“Exceptional - could not recommend more. I’ve visited this store three times to purchase car seats for my children, and every experience has been exceptional. The first visit, several years ago, was to address head flop issues in my youngest child's car seat. The sales executive was incredibly helpful, carefully discussing which seats would best suit the slanted seats in my car. They even tried out a couple of options in my vehicle and provided plenty of valuable advice. I ended up purchasing the Peg Perego lay-flat car seat, which turned out to be absolutely fantastic! On my second visit, I was searching for an Extended Rear Facing (ERF) car seat for my eldest. The team was beyond helpful and so well-informed—a refreshing change from other stores where mentioning ERF seats can feel alienating! I chose the BeSafe Stretch, an amazing seat that has exceeded my expectations. My most recent visit was on Monday evening when I needed a high back booster for my eldest and wanted to explore pushchairs for my soon to arrive twins. Despite arriving just before closing time (sorry!), the sales executive was incredibly accommodating. She guided me through various pushchairs and car seats, answering all my questions and offering excellent advice. I ended up buying a Britax Römer Kidfix, which my daughter absolutely loves, and I love the safety features, along with a footrest. The entire team was so patient and helpful, even as my 4 year old and 3 year old explored every corner of the shop! Thank you for the outstanding service over the years—this is the only place I truly trust! We will be back for more seats/pushchairs soon!”

“Visited here dozens of times over the last few years, staff are always friendly, especially on the aquatics section. It can be a little pricey on some items but always better to buy from a store rather than Amazon and you can sometimes get absolute bargains on the to clear items! Animals always look well cared for and have had quite a few fish from here and all have been healthy. Very much a last of its kind type of pet store so let’s support it so it keeps its doors open!”

“Fantastic place to visit, loved the interesting music related decor and whole atmosphere of the cafe. We attended a music bingo night and had a fun time. The owners were great hosts and had put on a fab event. There is a good selection of drinks available, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I would also highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches. We had the all-day breakfast and smokestack lighting sandwiches, and they were delicious.”

“Lovely atmospheric place for a morning coffee. Literally felt like we sat in a castle's underground prison (because we were!) Coffee was nice and service was quick. We didnt have anything to eat but the sandwiches looked good. Only thing is there are no toilets here! They are the other side of the bridge in the library!”

“We came here as part of our York Ghost Week experience and loved every second of it! The staff is always so kind and helpful, and the food was delicious. I love the Yorkshire cream tea, and heated scones. Also loved the limited edition Chocolate ghosts, wonderful job!”

“See the update at the end of this original review. We have been coming here since the very beginning. It started with a kiosk while the cafe was being finished. We were extremely impressed by the fabulous coffee and brilliant staff. When Caffe Valeria was opened we knew we had found “our” place! We visit often, both as a couple and some times with friends. The coffee is and the choice of cakes and pastries is excellent. The staff are always smiling and making us feel welcome. All the staff are helpful and kind. We must mention George, Liv and Olly as going above and beyond to make us feel special. Please don’t change a thing. Helen and David Update, George, Liv and Ollie (the stars of Valeria’s) have all left taking its heart with them. We no longer go there. Staff could be better trained, owner unpleasant. We feel we have lost something very special.”

“Highly recommend! The pancakes are pure perfection! I visited 2 different spring espresso cafes in York and they were both great. Friendly stuff and accommodating, I asked for a change in my order and they were more than happy to adjust it. The pancakes were a massive portion and super yummy with a generous portion of maple syrup. I’m salivating thinking about them! The coffee was excellent! The brownie was delicious but a bit dry. Overall a great place- would definitely visit again!”

The customer taster area is excellent, often with a good choice, which allow you to try new wines you might not have considered. The best store in this chain. Recommended.”

“I was looking for an eternity ring for my wife. I dealt with Max from the Berry’s shop in Stonegate York. From the outset Max was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and extremely helpful. He helped me choose a ring, incidentally made by Berry’s, and made the whole process a breeze. What’s most important is my wife was thrilled and although slightly too large Max arranged for the ring to be sized properly. All in all I cannot find fault with my experience and would highly recommend Berry’s, and Max, to any potential buyers. They also have a superb range of watches but at the moment I am resisting temptation!”

“First went to True Colour just over 18 years ago for a tattoo for my newborn daughter. Couple of weeks ago, my daughter had her first tattoos done at True Colour by Leighann. She was great, explained everything she was going to do, ensured we were happy with the designs and then after explained aftercare. Great experience”
