“Lovely green place to visit. Clean and tidy. If you’re dog walker then it must be kept on a lead. Even good place for river views. God place for children to play. It must be lovely day out in summer for a picnic not bad in autumn either. Worth to visit and have a walk at the edge of river”
“Would highly recommend going for a meal here. The staff were really helpful. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was was lovely. We will definitely be going again next year.”
“The Indian omelette is worth visiting this restaurant for. The interior is a vibe with a blend of Indian and chic colours, pictures and plants. The service is always extremely helpful and you're always greeted with a smile! Would recommend the green coriander chutney with the Indian omelette too, possibly one of my fave things to get here. The sweet breakfasts are also yummy with the ability to change my order easily (lactose allergy but I wanted to try a range of flavours) and the pancakes look great. I've had a range of things off the menu and would certainly take visitors with me when returning.”
“Booked Jilly`s last minute to provide food for a children's` summer camp. The sandwiches were amazing - both staff and kids loved them! The service was also brilliant. Would 100% recommend!”
“Went here recently as new to kelsall and it was lovely! Coffee, food and service all amazing :) very lucky to now have this on our doorstep.”
“Oh my goodness, I must come back here one day! I've missed eating coffee shop pastries so much (due to being vegan), but the food, drinks and service here blew me away. It's worth a visit to Chester for this coffee shop alone.”
“Very busy cafe with it's own unique vibe. There is a great selection of tasty homemade cakes. If you want something more healthy, the lunch menu is just as good. It can get very busy at lunchtime, which is a sign they are doing something right. There is a large seating area with tables in the room to the left, or else the stools and window seats by the counter are good for those just popping in for a quick drink. In better weather, they have tables outside, where you can be part of the Hoole street scene!”
“Kind & polite service from the 4 members of staff working on Sunday afternoon. Happily sat where I wanted. Well decorated and colourful inside with loads of plants on a few different levels including hanging baskets. The coffee latte was very tasty and I popped in some brown sugar. Good blend, good temperature, good beans. I was asked about allergies and milk options, which was professional. The café was kept very clean despite the rainy, windy weather outside the Chester Rows on a blustery Sunday. A perfect pitstop for a Dad-AKA-taxi-driver for one of my kids volunteering for an hour or two for their Duke of Edinburgh.”
“Another place that I've walked past for years but had never popped in. I met up with a friend and found it to have great vibes, quirky decor and lovely inviting staff. While sat down I had to use the WiFi to reveal the QR code contents. I personally love matcha and so to see so many variants I was beaming. I ended up creating a fresh strawberry and cream matcha. It was perfectly made and tasted yummy. There was no pressure to leave either as appreciated we spent some time there with just that one round of drinks we just not had seen each other for a while m I would definitely return anyway!”
“I visited SW with 2 girlfriends this week. They have a new Chef - Luke and a new menu. The best restaurant meal I have had in Chester it was delicious. Great menu - I started with steak tartare followed by the monkfish in lobster sauce. All beautifully prepared and presented the flavours were perfection. The staff were wonderful. Attentive without being intrusive. We had a fantastic evening. Would highly recommend.”
“We went for my husband's birthday and had the set lunch menu. The food was incredible, the featherblade beef wow! Lunch menu was great value for money and we really enjoyed the whole experience.”
“A gnome from home Belgium type bar with a cracking selection on keg and cask. And the cheese board are very good for the price”
“Food served here. Plenty of bar snacks though. Great atmosphere. Really good band playing (Love Tattoo) when we were there.”
“Well ,let me say this in short and informative way, walked in for a coffee while they were not open yet,the guys accommodated my urge for morning coffee and was followed by a beautiful chat regarding where to visit and a small history lesson regarding a specific event coming up in August. The coffee was delightful too. Thanks guys”
“What a FANTASTIC wee café! We had a great coffee and tea and the pie!! Yum! The history of this place is VERY interesting with the portholes and the story of how the really lovely current owners saved this building and turned it into something EVERYONE can enjoy, including sitting outside. THANK YOU so much, guys!”
“We always visit here for a breakfast, when we stay locally, and it never fails to deliver. The cafe also offers lucnh too. The food is delicious and plentiful, with a good menu range. The cakes are delicious too. Staff and management are friendly and attentive. This is a fantsastic little place.”
“The Eatery in Chester is a brilliant place to stop and eat, wether you want a cake and coffee or a meal its perfect. We had tea which was hot and strong and a scone with proper butter and jam. It was delicious, the scone was very soft and they warmed it which was a lovely touch. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming and the staff very nice and helpful. We will definately come again on our next visit to Chester.”
“Can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this cute cafe. A nice selection of vegan food in a chilled out environment. The owners were lovely and welcoming, to top it off, they played Pokémon go with us ;) I will definitely be coming here again. Just outside the centre but gets you out for a nice walk in the park.”
“Always love coming to the Tea Rooms, Always recommend to anyone popping into chester, for coffee or a bite to eat! Can never fault the food, very filling good portions! Love supporting Chester Pride so this place is an added bonus for me :)”
“We went for brunch on a quiet Monday morning. The Naughty Badger is hidden away up a staircase which leads to a small room, seating probably about 20 or so customers. We decided on The Naughty Badger as it's rated highly on local reviews, I'm going to be adding to this trend here. We were seated quickly and our coffees came even quicker, two lattes in latte glasses (not the biggest fan of them as they're more awkward to hold than cups) were brought to us at perfect drinking temperature, whoever was behind the coffee machine knew what they were doing. A rich, slightly nutty tasting coffee with a small foam top. For food, as always, I went with Eggs Benedict. At Badger, Eggs Benedict is two poached eggs atop a slice of sourdough, bacon and a paprika (I think) seasoning. The eggs were perfectly poached and rather large, with golden runny yolks. The hollandaise wasn't overwhelming, with a lemony/citrus tang to it. Three rashers of salty bacon, cooked with a crispy rind and a soft centre. My only criticism was that of the sourdough, it was thickly cut which made eating it a pain, literally. Thankfully it was only thicker on one end. Sourdough is rapidly falling off my favourite bread list with Eggs Benedict as the crust is often really hard when toasted which kind of fumbles the experience and doesn't go with how smooth the food should be. At Badger though, the bread itself was soft and lightly toasted, perfectly tearing apart as you cut into it. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at The Naughty Badger. the music wasn't for me, gave me uni vibes circa 2012 (which put it to 4 for atmosphere). But my partner loved it and vibed along. I'd definitely be looking to return should I be in Chester again. This place is well worth your time and money.”
“Excellent beer and friendly staff. The regulars are welcoming and talkative. Usually right excellent draft beers and extensive bottle and can selection. Food provider by a series of guest caterers: always compliment the beers and outstanding value Dog friendly too and if you’re coming by train they’ve created a live departure board to ensure that you don’t miss your train”
“Great atmosphere, staff and beverages. The hot chocolate we had previously was great. The mango smoothie we had this time around was fresh, sweet and lovely.”
“We drove in from across the border for this coffee shop and it was very worth it. Such a cool interior and a great sunny space to sit outdoors. An ideal cafe for reading a book. Coffee was tasty, but the flat white had too much milk (more like a latte). Friendly staff.”
“Great café! Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were friendly. A nice place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch.”
“Please please please come to this place. Absolutely everything I ate was bliss. The waitress was friendly and sweet, the chef was friendly and sweet, and beyond bloody talented. I am on cloud nine eating here, best experience in Chester for my entire life. FYI: it's literally off the beaten path, you have to go down the cobblestones for Rufus court”
“Had a lovely breakfast this morning. The service was so friendly and welcoming. The coffee was exceptional. We will definitely be back!”
