“Even though I have been for a few nights out in Parkgate during the last few years, I've only just gone in to The Red Lion! I wasn't sure what to expect but oh wow...I was pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful evening. It is warm, welcoming and friendly from the start. There is a cosy open log fire, a vast array of drinks to choose from, good wines, great non-alcoholic beer selection and comfy seats. We were a few seats short for our group but the manager went out of his way to re-arrange a few things and make it work for us...and he did so with a smile and a great attitude. He made sure to talk to the locals and overall this place just has that really honest, decent feeling you want from a local pub. It's recently been redecorated I believe and it looks really great in there, there is also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the stunning Parkgate view. This pub is a must on your visit to Parkgate.”
“I just had a fantastic night out! Kirri was absolutely incredible and really made the experience special with her attentiveness. The food and drinks were top-notch, and everything was spotlessly clean. I felt well taken care of, from the warm greetings to the friendly farewell. Can't wait to return for more fun and great service!”
“We go to the showcase weekly. The people who work there are absolutely lovely and so helpful and knowledgeable. Danielle, in particular, is great. I’m disappointed to see that she’s no longer on the desk and there is a self serve screen to use instead. Nobody likes faffing around with self serve in the cinema. It’s the main reason we don’t go to the Odeon at Switch Island; it’s annoying, takes longer and removes the human connection that makes the Showcase different to other cinemas. As well as Danielle, the security guard (I don’t know his name sorry) is really helpful and knowledgeable about the films being shown. Every other member of staff has always been really helpful and nice too. The people who work there are what differentiates the Showcase from other cinemas. I could stay home and stream a film or I can go to the Showcase and talk to nice, interesting people who always go the extra mile and can discuss a film with us. There are bigger cinemas, posher cinemas, cheaper cinemas, etc but the people who work there are what makes the Showcase stand out. Thank you”
“Absolutely loved the oldest pub in Liverpool, the staff were obviously proud of their pub, chatty, friendly, a little bit of the history, look in the phone box at the end of the bar, had to laugh, good beers, kept well,”
“We had a fantastic experience at Las Iguanas. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy lunch. The service truly stood out: Aline and Jackson looked after us exceptionally well. They were friendly, attentive, and professional, and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Everything was perfectly timed and we never felt rushed. An all-round excellent experience — highly recommended and we will definitely be back!”
“Visit Lime Street Central several times now. The bar is in a great location and has a big selection of drinks to choose from. The food is and I've always found the service to be excellent. Really enjoy the overall atmosphere, and will continue to return in the future.”
“Just spent a weekend at The Golden Eagle. The room was lovely and breakfast was delicious. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be returning.”
“Our entire stay was beyond fabulous! We were fortunate enough to get an early check in, which truly helped traveling with a 5 year old. Madison was a delight at the front desk. The room was quaint but really nice. Not a lot of space for 3 large suitcases but we made due. The location is amazing. The view of Derby Square, great. And being in the heart of everything made exploring fantastic and easy. The shower and towel warning rack were awesome too! We had breakfast there the first morning and it was really good. Overall a wonderful experience! We will be back!”

“Fantastic pub. Great selection of music played for those of us with eclectic taste. I am yet to eat here but it always smells delicious and always 2 or 3 different sports on the multiple screens.”

“It was our first time in Liverpool and we chose to stay at our usual hotel- Holiday Inn- and we never went wrong. We had a fantastic stay! The hotel boasts a great location, making exploring the shopping areas and the city easy. The service was superb—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The breakfast, with a great view, was terrific, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. What really stood out was the personalized touch throughout our stay. We came to Liverpool for graduation, and the hotel staff made the experience feel extra special. Highly recommended!”
“Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Had a very warm welcome when we arrived. We booked a standard double Room which included breakfast.. Room was very clean, we didnt hear anything or see anybody on our floor(5th) Room was quite dark but that was its style. Bed was comfy and had no issues with the bathroom, we soon worked out how to flush the toilet!! All the staff we spoke too were freindly Breakfast had a lovely choice, nice to have hot food cooked to order and not sitting under a hot lamp with hordes of people getting in the way. Location was really good, short walk to museums and liverpool one. A bit further to Liverpool Lime Street, but the receptionist kindly offered to book us a taxi which turned up on time for our return journey. One tip get some taxi numbers from Reception. Try and avoid getting in a Black Cab we think we were ripped off big time. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Much better than the experience we had at a well known chain of hotels where we stayed 2 years ago. Would not hesitate to stay at Malmaison again. Also fantastic hotel to stay if going on a cruise ,right oppisite cruise terminal.”
“Had the best Sunday lunch here. Pub Sunday lunches are rarely as good as what you would cook at home, but this one was. Everything was cooked to perfection. Staff were lovely and they were playing some great music too.”
“My first time visiting for an 80th birthday party the other day, we had a lovely time. The food was very good, and the service was friendly, accomodating and amazing all-round . Our server, Jackie, went above and beyond for everyone there and she was absolutely fab. The chocolate orange martini also went down a treat as well!”
“Very lively atmosphere with live music, good pint of Guinness it gets very busy at night be prepared to not be able to find a seat, also prices are high. But the party atmosphere makes up for it.”
“i visited ego today with a group of 6 friends and we had a lovely time. From the moment we arrived,,the staff were welcoming, attentive and made us feel relaxed. everything ran smoothly and nothing was too much trouble The food was absolutely delicious- everyone at the table loved their dishes and portions were generous. Drinks were great, the atmosphere was lively without being too loud and service friendly and professional. We all said the same thing : we’d definitely come back. A perfect spot for get together with friends. Highly recommend.”
“Went for lunch here with my sister, would highly recommend. We had the scallops, king prawns, steak tartare and beetroot to start and all the dishes were well presented and packed with flavour. We then shared a ribeye with the gravy, cauliflower cheese and cabbage. We paired our food with dirty martinis and spicy mango margaritas. Absolutely flawless food and incredible drinks, we couldn’t fault it. We were looked after by the lovely Dan, who had the perfect balance of attentiveness without being overbearing. We felt really well looked after and was able to sit back, chat and relax. Thank you to Dan for ensuring we had the perfect meal. If you’re looking for a high end dining experience with high quality food and drinks, RBG is the place to be!”
