“The hotel itself was really nice and clean rooms were spacious and pleasant with complimentary tea and coffee. It also had a fan in the room which was appreciated in this weather. Beds were clean and comfy with good pillows. Breakfast was ok with your standard English breakfast but there was no vegetarian or meat free alternative, so just beens mushrooms and eggs for vegetarian options, with cereal and pastries also on offer. The downside to this hotel was the that it seems to be in a deprived area with police seeming to be on call every other hour. There is an Aldi directly across from the hotel but was fronted by drug addicts and homeless however they didn't seem to cause any issues. So overall, not in the best area but I would stay here again but only as a layover for the night with the very cheap price playing the biggest part in that.”

“Best place to stay! We stayed there for a few days and the service was amazing, better than a lot of hotels I've been to. Although it was evening, as soon as I called they picked up in a matter of seconds! The rooms are luxurious and definitely worth the price with great facilities such as a kettle microwave,iron and iron board!”

“We probably got the best view, we stayed in room 218 which is on the highest floor and positioned at a vantage angle, to see both the building gaps on the further most right, yet to see around the hotel elevated edge wall, (described as a big white metal thing at the end and blocking the view a bit). As seen on my photo, there are floors 2, 1, 0, -1. The Travelodge main entrance and drinks machine are on 0. The Travelodge underground car entrance is on -1, the ramp down to the underground parking lot is sided with red bricks and can been seen on a photo. The reception and some guest rooms are on 1. Most guest rooms are on 2 and there's also an upper courtyard with some guest rooms around it, the courtyard is thin and long so those guest rooms shall have a very small view. See my photo of floor 2 map, of which I got from my guest room door. Please note that the 'choose your room' option is available at £3.50, to ensure a better room view in advance, which is offered immediately after guest room purchase.”

“Perfectly located outside Chessington and just off the main road. Rooms were spacious and clean with ample amenities. The restaurant is next door (separate buildings) but only a short walk door to door. Staff were friendly and polite. Would happily stay her again.”

“I’ve stayed here a few times now. Each time has been great. The receptionist Ufuoma is always so welcoming with her fabulous smile, plus she’s super efficient and professional in her role. I will continue to visit when I travel from Stansted or visit friends this way. Rooms always clean and comfortable - a plus point for me is the use of a super hot bath. There’s a hair dryer and kettle for tea and coffee - everything you need really. I always book the buffet breakfast, which is plentiful and tasty. I will be back soon, thanks.”

“The location might seem a bit far from the city center, but the tube is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel and takes you directly to Westminster. The breakfast is fine, though nothing special. The rooms are small, but that’s quite common in London. They are clean and equipped with everything you need. Overall, we had a very good stay, and the service was excellent.”

“I was so pleasantly surprised by what I got for the price I paid. The room was spacious and cleaned every single day. There was loads of choice for breakfast. The pool and sauna were so nice to pop down to at the end of a busy day. There’s a really nice restaurant 3 minutes away called Harlem Soul. It took us about 20 minutes by tube/bus to get into the centre of London. Definitely going to stay there again!”

“Gainsborough Lodge near Gatwick Airport. The price is really reasonable, and the rooms are nice and clean – the water’s hot, the shower looks brand‑new, and the breakfast is excellent value for money. The staff are super helpful and made our stay even better. I highly recommend this place; if you’re heading to or from Gatwick you can get to the airport in about twenty minutes by public transport. “August 2024: We had an extremely pleasant stay in this hotel. We appreciated that our room had been fully refurbished and that our window was facing the smaller side street, not Edgware Road. Daily cleaning of room and change of towels, complimentary tea and coffee amenities, relatively big TV screen, very good bathroom. There is a staff member at the reception desk 24/7, and all the staff members were very friendly. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so we cannot say anything about that. The immediate area to the left of the hotel is very Arabic, that‘s true. But it did not bother us at all. To the right you take a few steps and are by the canal and in Little Venice. We recommend the bar Vagabond for wine or beer and the restaurant/ café boat Darcie & Mae Green for a drink in Little Venice in the evening and the 101 Church Street Café for budget-friendly and very good full English breakfast in "Little Beirut“. Update August 2025: Because we liked our stay so much last year, we decided to stay at the same hotel again for a couple of days in August 2025. We enjoyed our stay as much as we did last year. This time we booked it including breakfast. The breakfast was simple but really OK, especially considering the low costs. It is true that the Wi-Fi is not very good, but it didn‘t bother us.”

“I was years ago, but very comfortable and as if I were at home. Magnificent treatment with the owner and tenants. The owner made us dinner and super, we could use the washing machine, kitchen, living room... shared bathroom but everything was very clean.”

“It's just a wonderful place. Spent a night in August with family because of a problem on the road on the way to the Eurotunnel. The place was quiet and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t get breakfast because we were in a rush, but we saw the guy who ordered hiding behind a forest of practically everything. We had never seen a breakfast table so full of choice. Note that although dogs seem to be welcome, there was one belonging to the guy who had breakfast; the place is organized in a way that the pet won’t disturb you because it is somewhere else in the building; in fact, we saw the dog on arrival but that it was, no herd, no smell or else. The place is a helpful stop to rest if you travel to and from France; there is also a lake that you can reach by walking, and the site has a free private car park. There is a typical pub nearby, but no noise arrived (the place is tranquil); it is good to know that it is possible to drink and walk home.”

“Only one night before Twickenham rugby. It is only 35 minutes from the ground. Parking an issue but we parked free on station carpark after 6 and before 8 It is 5 minute walk. Wetherspoons 5 minute walk up road for food and pint. Room was hot, shower was hot. Decaf ☕ free in room tasty enough. Lots of towels. Quiet night.”

“I got exactly what I expected. The host was friendly when I arrived (which was close to the cutoff at 11 p.m. because of a flight delay), and he took me to my room. The room and restroom were very neat and clean for the price range, and I would recommend this place to anyone needing an affordable option near Heathrow. Also the location is less than a 10 minute walk to a bus station that has routes straight to the airport.”

“A recently refurbished travelodge, had everything we need for a night in Dorking. The Tesco next door was handy for breakfast items. A short walk 10-15 mins to the main or Deepdene station and similar into Dorking centre. Would stay again”

“Rooms very basic but clean - all we needed. Long as our rooms were clean we were happy as was just to get our heads down for the night. Breakfast was lovely and in an open kitchen where you can see the food being prepared and cooked - LOVED this! Cosy seating area for breakfast, there was 5 of us so we took over a little but the hosts / staff honestly couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we would definitely use again if in the area. Thank you everyone! Highly recommended!”

“Lovely place to stay. Not too far from the underground, Piccadilly line. Bus stop 2 minute walk. We had the ensuite chalet at the back of the garden and found it very comfortable and quiet. There was a television but we didn't switch it on. There was also a microwave and kettle. Geoff met us at the door and showed us around told us of the local amenities etc. Great bloke. Came to London for a concert and an exhibition. Will definitely stay again.”

“Had a nice, straight -forward stay here. The hotel is within a good distance to the station so that was handy for travel. It's one of the more reasonable offerings in the area but still to a good standard. The gentleman running the hotel is friendly and helpful and doing a great job. Everything is very clean and to be honest more so then many more expensive hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are a good size and had everything I needed for a days stay. I appreciate the microwave, you often don't get one but it's very handy for snacks after travelling.”

“What a nice and comfortable place this is ! When my kids were almost grown-up, I slightly broken my neck and felt like visiting the UK . I knew this hotel occasionally and stayed with much satisfaction. Since the visit , I have been to the UK four times. But I always book a room of this hotel before buying a ticket to Heathrow. The staffs are very very warm.”
