βOur first visit to this pool with my 4 year old daughter. We both loved it. Great facilities and amazing value. The venue is modern and clean. The food was great and also great value. This will be our new Sunday spot for daddy daughter day. A massive thank you to the bar staff and pool staff/life guards . Not only for being friendly. Professional and efficient but also for finding my wallet and going all out to get in touch with me to let me know they had it safe. Thank you so much. Joe.β
βLove swimming and so glad the pool is open again.β
βWent to see my granddaughters swimming lessons, easy parkingβ
βWe as a family can't thank your team enough for the excellent swimming lessons you have been able to supply our youngest son. He was struggling with confidence and swimming generally and you kindly helped us by advising him to have 121 lessons with Lewis. The transformation and confidence in his swimming has been unbelievable and he loves coming every week and achieving every week. It's lovely to see such a happy confident child in the pool. Thank you so much!!!β
βI am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding swimming lessons my children receives at Kempston pool. The progress they have made has been brilliant, and I attribute much of this success to the exceptional way the instructors attend to the children. I have been particularly impressed by: * Individual Attention: Despite managing a group, the instructors consistently notice individual needs. Whether it's correcting a specific technique or offering a word of encouragement to a hesitant child, they provide personalised feedback effectively. * Patience and Encouragement: The instructors demonstrate remarkable patience and have a wonderful, positive attitude that clearly motivates the children. They celebrate small successes, which really boosts confidence. * Clear Communication: They explain techniques in a way that is easy for children to understand, adapting their approach as needed. * Creating a Safe & Fun Atmosphere: My children feel safe and supported in their lessons. The instructors balance learning with fun, making it an experience my children genuinely look forward to each week. Seeing how well my children are cared for and how attentively they are taught has been wonderful. Please pass on our thanks to the instructors for their dedication and skill. We are delighted with the programme.β
βRecently joined Saxon Pool on a swim membership. Pool and changing areas are clean and the staff are friendly (special shout out to super polite Sophie). A few more late quiet swims on the timetable would be welcomed, but in all honestly we are impressed and highly recommend.β
βFree parking, wheelchair assessable Owen, Lee, Katie and Toni best staff there !...They have all helped my two children learn to swim, cant fault these guys enough they go above and beyond!! Fun time splash is always good but busy!β
βSo yes, it is an old pool, but the pros massively outweigh the cons and there are some quite unreasonable reviews here. Pros:- 33 metre pool, Lovely staff, Lovely community vibe, Wide lanes, More flexible swimming times, Properly hot showers, Big changing cubicles (useful if you're 6ft3 like me) Decent pool temperature so you can really go for it when you swim. Cons:- It is old so there are rust marks that have built up over the decades, giving it an untidy/grubby look, although it is as clean as any other pool. Unfair and generally negative reviews about teeny things by unsympathetic people. The negative reviews about this pool stopped me trying it for 3 years and the only reason I went was because the Kempston one was closed for a period of time. It is in need of a refurbishment as it is an old pool, but it isn't any dirtier than any other pool I've been to. The one in Barnet North London is pretty much a brand new centre, and I've seen that one in significantly worse states than Robinsons due to customers being gross and disrespectful. So, if you want to go swimming in a nice, well maintained, historical pool with a great community vibe, nice respectful people, spacious lanes, is open when you want, and you can understand that it has battle scars from years of service, then this is the pool for you.β
βOur 8 year old granddaughter was taught by an fantastic swimming instructor (Oliver) today. It was amazing how quickly she progressed - which gave her the confidence she needed Highly recommended!!β
βThis pool is a really nice place to swim and train. The staff are excellent. My wife is paraplegic and enjoys swimming unfortunately most of the pools in the area, although they all have disabled access the staff at Kettering pool make it much more pleasant. There is nothing that is too much trouble for the staff. They are all patient, friendly and informative. I feel that it is the staff here that make this such and enjoyable palce to swim. The hoist to get in and out ofbthe pool is an old pump style and it is hard work for the staff yet not once have I heard any member of affairs complain or grumble about this. A big thanks to the staff at Kettering pool.β
βA fantastic stay at Homefield Grange. The staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive. The spa facilities are immaculate and truly luxurious. The therapists are skilled and professional. Great classes and early morning walks. My room was beautifully decorated with a great shower and a very comfy bed! The food was healthy, fresh, and beautifully presented and the two chefs are fantastic - really enjoyed the demonstrations which were so informative and inspiring. I came here to hopefully lose some weight but it has been so much more than that, I left feeling relaxed and refreshed - a real re-set. Highly recommended!β
βWe took our 6 month old puppy to her first swimming lesson. We were all welcomed by Amy, she was amazing and explained everything that was going to happen and why. Our puppy was given a life jacket and slowly introduced to the slope and water, taking it all at our puppies pace. Amy supported our puppy and gave us really good advice. Our puppy was so happy which made us feel comfortable, safe and smile so much. We will be back as itβs a great, safe place for our puppy to learn. Thank you so much Amyβ
βOur toddler has been coming to Happy Tiddlers since he was 5 months old. He loves his lessons with Emma and his confidence has grown in the water. We have also started taking our newborn to lessons with Helen too. Designated children's pool which is always warm. The group numbers are kept small and only your age group is in the pool at the time of your lesson. Classes are structured with fun toys and activities in mind to develop their swim skills. The instructors are great at explaining the reason behind the activities too and provide tips of what to do at home for water confidence. The premises is well maintained - there is always a member of staff mopping the floors after every lesson. Plenty of room in main changing room with heaters that work to keep babies warm when they get out the pool. There is also cubicles and baby changing mats available. Plenty of room for parking (which is free). Viewing gallery is close so you can see your child swimming with their parent (some swim schools make you sit in another room and watch on a screen). The school asks for photos not to be taken in certain areas for safe guarding reasons. It's nice to know your babies won't be in the background of another parent's photos. We originally picked the school as struggled to find somewhere that had lessons available at the weekends for when Dad isn't working and wanted an activity for him to do with the babies Would highly recommend Happy Tiddlers!β
βHad my first experience of Swimcube coaching yesterday. Matt the coach was absolutely brilliant. We had a short chat about my swimming experience and what I wanted to gain from the session. Due to upcoming race in 3 weeks we agreed that we would focus on some smaller changes that would help support my efficiency for the race and then set some larger goals to work on to improve my stroke in the future. From arriving to leaving, Matt made me feel comfortable and relaxed, he was really experienced and made his points really clearly. I was a bit nervous of how I would swim in the pool, but after the first go, I feel you pretty much get the hang of it. Having the live feedback on the screen after every effort was a really game changer. Like most swimmers I had no idea how I looked in the water. With 3 cameras you really get a great idea of how your stroke and body position are in the water (even if its not as great as you expect it to be). After every effort Matt gave me some feedback along side the videos and set something for me to work on in the next set. Time really flies once you are in the pool, as I was a bit worried an hour would be too long, but I was enjoying it so much I didn't want the session to end. I have come away with the all the videos and some analysis from Matt to follow. Overall I came away from the session absolutely buzzing. I have always known my stroke wasn't quite right, and have watched thousands of youtube videos to try and fix it, this essentially led me to trying numerous things without ever really pin pointing my big issue. After an hour at the swimcube I have such a clear picture on what I need to work on to improve. Although there is no shortcut and these changes will take time to implement, its a relief to know exactly what I need to improve on. With the drills given to me from Matt I can go away and work on becoming a better swimmer. Would highly recommendβ
βTook my wife here for her birthday - she loved it as did I though I'm not a great swimmer. 100yards was a long way for me. Nice setting. Great value fir money. Not heated bug I didn't find it that cold.β
βFriendly staff and great facilities. I use the pool and gym, generally no issues with either. Problems with hot water in the past would be my only negative but this seems to have been sorted. A good value fitness and sports club conveniently located in the village for local residents. Opening times and availability of general swim sessions can be somewhat limited because of the setup in a working public school, and there is not a huge range of equipment or number of machines in the fitness suite but for me Willison Centre is worth the cost and I enjoy being a member. I also love the flexible rolling subscription system so I donβt have to pay for a month if I have sickness, injury or holidays etc. and wouldnβt get the use.β
βGreat gym, pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The staff are really helpful. The bar is good and again the staff professional, polite and efficient. I have also eaten here and found the food to be of a good standard.β
βNice easy atmosphere, drinks reasonably priced. Play tables were good.β
βFantastic place to go on any day, but a hot summers day and a swim in the river is highly recommendedβ
βTowers Health & Racquets Club is a great place to train and unwind. The gym has a good range of equipment, and the courts are always in good condition. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed but professional. It can get a little busy at peak times, but overall itβs a great club to visit even as a guest.β
βI have been taking my 5 month old here since he was about 3 months old. The pool is perfect for baby classes, nice and warm and the instructor is amazing. Itβs very relaxed and welcoming which is as exactly what I wanted (always a bit nerve racking when youβre trying new things with a baby!) classes are not too big either! They provide lots of info and instructions before you go which is so useful too so you know exactly what youβre doing and how it works! I look forward to our class every week and would recommend Hartwell to anyone wanting to give baby swimming a go!β
βOur 8 year old granddaughter has been going to swimming classes here since it opened. Although she could just swim a few strokes, she used to be hesitant about getting her face wet, but now she is really confident above and under the water and really enjoys her weekly lesson which teaches the children to have confidence in the water and helps them learn the basics of all strokes. A great way to learn to swim.β
βI purchased an ice bath in November 2023, and recently I added a sauna. During both transactions, the service from the team has been superb. The installations have been spot on and I am super happy with both products.β
βHad an issue with a swim spa - got booked in - no messing about - two guys came out and fixed the issue. Downside is that we all need to get swimming again. Much appreciated thanks for a great service.β
βReally enjoying the 'able' workouts and fitness classes at Fitness First. The swimming pool and sauna are both an added bonus. I would recommend to anyone thinking of joining a gym or simply want to improve overall fitness.β
βA Perfect Day at Woburn Lido From the moment I arrived at Woburn Lido, I knew I was in for a treat. Nestled in the charming village of Woburn, this historic outdoor pool is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The first thing that struck me was the stunning Art Deco architecture. The beautifully restored changing rooms, with their vibrant tiles and classic arches, transported me back to the 1930s. It was like stepping into a different era, and I couldnβt help but admire the attention to detail that has gone into preserving this piece of history. As I dipped my toes into the crystal-clear water, I was pleasantly surprised by the perfect temperature. The pool is heated to a comfortable 26Β°C, making it ideal for a leisurely swim or a more vigorous workout. The separate paddling pool for children is a thoughtful touch, ensuring that families can enjoy their time here without any worries. The atmosphere at Woburn Lido is incredibly relaxing. Surrounded by lush greenery, the pool area feels like a tranquil oasis. I spent hours lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun, and taking refreshing dips whenever I felt like it. The friendly staff were always on hand, making sure everything was just right. One of the highlights of my visit was the sense of community. Locals and visitors alike come together here, creating a warm and welcoming environment. I had some lovely conversations with fellow swimmers, sharing stories and tips about the best spots in the area. After a day of swimming and relaxation, I treated myself to a delicious snack from the on-site kiosk. The selection of refreshments was impressive, and I enjoyed a tasty ice cream while basking in the late afternoon sun. As the day came to an end, I couldnβt help but feel grateful for this wonderful experience. Woburn Lido is more than just a swimming pool; itβs a place where memories are made. Whether youβre looking for a peaceful retreat or a fun day out with family and friends, Woburn Lido is the perfect destination.β
βI fully rate the swimming lessons my children have. Kerry and Pippa have been absolutely fantastic in their progression. Their lessons are very engaging and full of encouragement. They keep the lessons fun and always know what they need to focus on and develop. Thank you for your help and support ladies.β
