Fine dining restaurant in Norwich

“Spending an unplanned day in Norwich I fancied an English style restaurant lunch. Bishop’s was the first one I found among the huge range of international options. I used the online booking system but this failed to get through to the restaurant. However, there was no drama and we were seated without any delay. The service from the owner was first class as was the 3-course set lunch menu. Each dish was special and I picked up a few new ideas to try myself at home. A great experience and the set menu was excellent value for money.”

“The only downside to the thaiway is trying to book a table. We visited last year and couldn't get a table ,& it was a 2 hour wait for a takeaway. To counteract that this year I thought I'd book well in advance. 9 phone calls over 10 days and all were cut off and a generic message of "we're too busy to take your call at the minute" was sent. In the end we called in at lunch time today and were able to book a table at 18.30. The service and food were of a very high standard. Nice surroundings and prompt service. All in a reasonable price. The end product was a very enjoyable experience.”

“Looking forward to a nice evening meal with our friends here and thank goodness we had booked a table at the Indian Spoon restaurant, as this popular spot on the Norfolk broads was fully booked and queues of walk -ins were being politely turned away as we arrived. The food we were served for our evening was absolutely delicious, the chefs delivering the correct level of curry heat and their meats and sauces are up with the best I have tasted in Indian restaurants. The freshness of the ingredients here was obvious not only by the crisp salads tasty naan breads and meats on our plates but by the volume of food being sold through the restaurant and take-aways. Thank you for a nice evening handled professionally during a busy service evening.”

“1st visit and very impressed, service was impeccable and delightfully old-school, food was wonderful - inventive without being too 'trendy' and no gimmicks! Prices were appropriate for the high standards, but still reasonable. Staff were professional, friendly, but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble and all dietary requirements catered for. Having dined at many reputable establishments throughout the UK over the years, we are delighted to find this gem on our doorstep, and we cannot understand why it has taken us so long to dine here. Brasted's is our new regular go-to restaurant.”

“This place is a must visit for Norwich, absolutely incredible, definitely some of the best in the area. Everyone I know loves and raves about XO and rightly so, the venue is lovely along with the staff and the food is reasonably priced considering how good it is. I do wish you could see what’s on the menu when booking or before going as it seems to change often and the website wasn’t up to date when we visited - would only like to know so I can time my next visit to try different menu items”

“The only Chinese takeaway in Norwich that I trust with my life. I've moved house and am no longer in the golden triangle, but I still get Cantonese Kitchen delivered. All the staff are so nice and friendly, you won't regret it.”

“First time we had visited this restaurant since we moved to Yarmouth just over a year ago, and it won't be the last! We were greeted by such warm and friendly staff and made to feel most welcome, they took a genuine interest in making sure we had everything we needed, and the service was absolutely first class. The food was quite honestly the best Indian food we had ever had, perfectly cooked, presented and spiced, absolutely beautiful food, honestly cannot fault anything about it. The chef is clearly absolutely amazing! All in all the meal was an absolute delight, I have no hesitation at all in recommending Savoy Tandoori to anyone wanting a top class meal with fantastic service and at a very reasonable price. Thank you to all the staff, and in particular Ships who was so helpful, kind and friendly. We will be back and will be recommending to others!”

“My wife and I had a lovely meal at Misha's tonight. Staff were friendly and attentive and we were made to feel very welcome throughout. Food was amazing. I honestly can't recommend enough. As tourists passing through Misha's was a welcome stop and one i recommend to anyone. We hope to see you again if in this part of the world sometime soon!”

“The best Indian food in Thetford! Could not fault the food, the service, anything. We’ve eaten here several times now & we have always had a lovely time with the best food. Sal (I think was his name) is such an attentive waiter & nothing is ever any trouble for him. All of the staff are lovely & Shipon (the owner) truly cares about his customers and the food which comes across each and every visit.”

“We had my birthday tea at the Quayside Plaza it's one of my favourite places to eat! We love the olives and fresh bread and my sirloin steak was cooked and seasoned really well and buttery soft with delicious peppercorn sauce.The citrus chicken was also so tasty! We both had drinks and dessert too so at £75 it was really good value. Will definitely be back again soon! Service was excellent!”

“What a wonderful place. Best restaurant in North Norfolk. We had Crab cake and Lamb Kofta to start. Both were light and flavoursome. We then had the Hake on roasted Mediterranean veg and Sea Bass with its, samphire and dill sauce. As it was so good we had to try the sticky toffee pud and rhubarb crème brûlée. Wonderful. Nice bottle of Aix Provençal rose washed it down nicely.”

“Wow! What a meal, decided to try our local Chinese off a recommendation from my good friend Becky. We are stuffed! Really good portion sizes and tasty dishes all round. We’ve had to stop bc we’re full but don’t worry we’ll be polishing off the leftovers. My dear partner said the lady was absolutely lovely when we collected our food and she popped it all in a box for us. Good job China Star!!!”

“Lovely pub. We've been for food on several occasions and it's been great every time. This time we came for a family Christmas lunch and it couldn't have been better so I had to post. Delicious food, delightful staff and a lovely cosy atmosphere.”

“We had a really lovely meal, as we always do. Staff helpful and service is quick. The only complaint we'd have is that we were seated in the small dining room which accommodates two tables of 8. When occupied this can be really noisy. At times we struggled to hear each other. This is the second time I've encountered this issue. In future I will ask to be seated in the main dining area.”

“I've been here a few times for drinks and they do great cocktails - they also have an interesting wine list. We've wanted to eat here for a while but hadn't managed to get a table - we did manage just before Christmas though, and I'm so pleased we did. I didn't have my phone with me so no pix but the food was lovely. I'm late posting the review so don't recall exactly what we had but it was local fish and veg, beautifully cooked. Next time I'll take pics and do a more detailed review! One addendum, the bar area can get a bit noisy early on, when there is a big party of work colleagues.”

The marinated olives for nibbles with drinks were tasty, but the bread, with balsamic and olive oil, came toasted for some reason. Serving fresh bread with this would make a vast improvement.”

“A delightfully authentic Italian deli in the centre of Norwich. I treated myself to a feast for lunch which included pizza slices, a sausage roll, and the best of all: a focaccia with olives, pesto and tomato. Absolutely top-notch food, and the look and feel of the place is also something to write home about. Highly recommended!”

“Absolutely loved this place. A real hidden gem in the centre of Norwich. Feeling spontaneous on a Friday evening. I called half an hour before to see if they could accommodate my wife and I for dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly and they managed to squeeze us in at the last minute. The food is absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. We opted to share a mix of various small plates and everything was delicious, well presented and served promptly. The drinks offering is decent so my wife opted to try a glass of the Plum wine while I stuck with the familiar Sapporo. We were so blown away by the plum wine we decided to share a bottle. It is the perfect drink to have whilst savouring the delicate flavours of the food, a wonderful balance of dry, sweet, tangy and fresh. The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. We will be returning again in the very near future.”

“Loved this pub. Right on the river what a magnificent setting. The Sunday lunch was tasty and big, no corners cut. So relaxing watching the boats go by and our dog enjoyed it too paddling in the overspill from the river Highly recommended”
