“Little Elf Steak Pie - A proper comfort classic. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a traditional steak pie from Little Elf Kitchen and Cafe on Granby Street Ilkeston, and it didn’t disappoint. The pastry was golden, crisp on the top, and beautifully flaky without being dry or overworked. The real star, though, was the filling – generous chunks of tender beef, slow-cooked until meltingly soft, in a rich but not swimming in, savoury gravy that had real depth of flavour. It struck a perfect balance between seasoning and that comforting, homely feel. I had the pie with creamy mashed potatoes, buttery peas, and a touch of gravy on the side – a classic combo that elevated the experience. This pie was packed with filling which took the pie from excellent to outstanding. All in all, a hearty, satisfying dish that delivered on both taste and tradition. I’d happily have this meal again.”
“First time for a long time I have been for a ham cob and there was ham in it and it was plentiful, plenty of ham and even my labourer commented on how much ham was in it, went back today, more ham and the other lad who was with me commented that his pulled pork cob was the best he had, and he is thick but managed to put a sentence together without any prompting so I thought only right this cafe should have a brilliant review, looking forward to a breakfast tomorrow.”
“Nice coffee and friendly staff. Just the ticket.”
“Lovely little coffee shop, the ambiance is homely, the food is lovely and the staff were very helpful. We had soup and a sandwich which was very tasty and fresh, then we shared the fruit and cake platter and there was plenty for 2. The food and coffee was delicious and we will be returning very soon. Covid safe too.”
“Had a lovely experience at Costa in Vic Centre today. Batista called Chris (I think) was lovely, polite and made me smile. I was having a bad day but she made it just that little better with her customer service.”
“My go-to place for brunch and breakfast on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre. Lovely location at The Forest park so plenty of parking or easy access to the tram. Perfect to have a bite to eat in a nice location, then nip into town. I've only eaten breakfast or light bites here but I've never been disappointed and now you can order online so there's no queues as in previous years. The cafe has recently expanded inside and outdoors, the outdoor area is covered and has heaters so you can stay outside even in colder weather. Very extensive menu with options for all dietary requirements and lots of delicious cakes and light bites to take away if you're in a hurry. Their picnic box looks fab too!”
“Our regular Sunday morning slot, always welcoming and a super hot coffee and banter! Great selection always available to cover any cravings!”
“Very quick and efficient service with great tasting food and drinks. Highly recommend the Panini’s on offer which are made fresh and with fresh authentic ingredients. Always piping hot and delicious. The prices are very affordable and the owner of the café is always polite and friendly. I love returning to this independent café in the park.”
“Food was lovely plenty on the plate. Staff very nice. Will definitely be going again. Good value for money”
“Only drank nice coffee. It's a lovely place.”
“Absolutely loved the Frappuccino at Starbucks in Nottingham! It was amazing, and the service was the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!”
“Once again a lovely trip to Costa at Beechdale. Staff are so welcoming and friendly you're met with a nice smile and "Good Morning" served with your favourite coffee, which is always made to perfection. There is only one thing missing to make this an excellent experience, and that is that for the last couple of months the 'air con' has been broken. This certainly puts a black mark on this superb.coffee shop which I believe is the best in Nottingham. With the hearwave it has certainly worked against this amazing coffee shop. Definitely 5 out of 5.”
“I came in this in morning for breakfast. Very nice, cosy atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious. I could see the kitchen staff working very hard and the young guy who served us was very friendly. Really good showing and I will certainly be back again. Very impressive.”
“Delightful little cafe in Woolaton park next to a great adventure playground (free) for the kids. Really really nice Biscoff milkshake, I'm sure I'll walk it off.”

“Very friendly staff, superb coffee and baked goods that are better than the competing shops in the station. Rarely crowded, so great to grab a coffee between tram and train.”
