“Upon stepping into The Wollaton Pub & Kitchen, one is immediately greeted by an atmosphere of understated elegance, the sort that whispers rather than shouts of its quality. Situated conveniently beside the verdant expanse of Wollaton Park, the establishment carries with it an air of calm refinement — a welcome retreat after a leisurely stroll or an afternoon’s exploration. On this particular visit, my companion and I confined ourselves to the pub side of the venue, abstaining from the culinary offerings on this occasion. Thus, I cannot speak to the merits of the kitchen, though the aromas drifting gently from within suggested craftsmanship of the promising sort. Nevertheless, the pub area alone proved thoroughly satisfying. The décor is warm without feeling cluttered, modern without surrendering its traditional charm. Soft lighting and thoughtful furnishings lend the space a cultivated ambience that invites one to linger. The staff, for their part, carried out their duties with a quiet efficiency and a courteous manner befitting the surroundings. Our beverages were served promptly and presented with care, providing exactly the sort of easy comfort one seeks in an afternoon respite. Though our sojourn was brief, the establishment left a favourable impression — one of polished hospitality and a mature sense of place. In summary, while we did not partake in the food on this visit, The Wollaton Pub & Kitchen nonetheless stands as a most commendable location for those desiring a refined and leisurely drink in dignified surroundings. It shall no doubt warrant a return visit, perhaps next time to acquaint ourselves properly with the kitchen’s offerings.”

“THIS is a proper English pub. Stayed here twice, staff are welcoming, food is incredible, none of those cheap crappy sauces, decent portions, great beer and lovely decor and amenities. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Been to this hotel a few times now. Love the location, great for a middle point for shopping and Rock City. There's an Irish lady who works in the pub who has a lovely personality and makes me feel at ease when ordering. I do not know her name, but will make a point of asking next time .”

“Absolutely outstanding carvery, every meat for a Sunday roast available including lamb, A choice of medium beef or well done beef, Pork and great crackling, gammon, turkey! All veg fresh, banging roasties and creamy mash! Not forgetting the crispy stuffing balls and immense Yorkshire puddings....infact, the best yorkies I've ever had!! Will definitely be returning!”

“Big group of us came in last Wednesday. Despite the bar and restaurant being full we were welcomed and sat promptly. The food came at a reasonable time too. What really stood out however was who we assume is the manager. She was so fluid in the restaurant bar and igloo pods outside our whole table noticed and were mesmerised at her service skills. We never got to mentioned it but I’m sure this review helps She took our food and drinks order without no pen or iPad, made us laugh and smile constantly and managed to clear all our plates (10+ people) in one go. “Last Saturday ( 27 May ) twenty-nine of us enjoyed a lunch at the Peartree. It was a very happy carefree occasion with very good food and the most attentive and caring service. The staff really put themselves out to ensure we all enjoyed ourselves and they succeeded. The only downside is that some of us will have to diet as the sticky toffee pudding was not as low cal as I kidded myself. Congratulations to a first class team.”

“Had table booked for 7 with it being a Saturday night was seated straightaway By crystal who was very helpful and polite was told it could be 45 minutes to wait for food but got within 30 minutes which was a bonus food was lovely and with 40% of it was a bargain .”

The mix of kebabs, curries, rice, roti, naan, and sides made it a perfect meal to share. The spices were perfectly balanced — rich, aromatic, and comforting without being overwhelming. The meats were tender and well-marinated, and the biryani had that classic, irresistible Pakistani aroma. The naan was soft and fresh, and the chutneys added the perfect finishing touch. “Great pub! Because the drinks are reasonable as is the food. Even better if you like to watch Nottingham Forest footy matches on the massive screen! Or other teams matches. I’m not a footy fan, but lots of people are so it’s a great location. There are other areas too, away from the match. Staff do a good job but like a lot of places these days there’s not much human engagement at all - especially if you order online. Very quick online service on a Sunday afternoon.”
