“Absolute top-tier coffee. Have used them on and off for a few years now. Not sure why we ever stopped as the service and coffee is excellent. Really great range of organic coffee beans delivered to your door! The new Coast coffee is 10/10 and replaced as our favour to Baya (still a solid coffee though). Most recently had an issue with our subscription (due to Shopify messing with the cards) had to call them to sort and both the women I spoke with were really helpful. Got it sorted quickly and send the beans the next day. Great that it is roasted in the UK and seems that we get deliveries close the roast date for added freshness! 100% worth giving them a try, I think they sell a exploring/tasting pack (or used to)”
“Stopped off here for breakfast on the way home from a week in Whitsand Bay for breakfast and wow so glad we did. My husband and me plus our two dogs were made very welcome, the dogs were even given their own sausages. Best breakfast had for a long time, washed down with lovely coffee. And playing the best music too!”
“Visited the Northcott Theatre on Saturday 11th October to watch a performance of The Ex Men. The show was brilliant, very informative and funny. I’m registered blind therefore my son asked if they had audio description sets I could use. This was also amazing, I would not really have known what was happening on stage but the audio description brought the whole thing to life. I really enjoyed the evening, the show was excellent, the staff was very helpful, prices in the bar was also good.”
“We discoved KUKU during our first visit to Plymouth and had a lovelydining experience! Conveniently located in the city centre, we managed to get a table without a booking on a Sunday evening, which was a pleasant surprise considering how busy it was. We were celebrating our anniversary, and KUKU turned out to be the perfect spot. The atmosphere was lovely—cosy yet elegant, with a warm and welcoming vibe. Despite the bustling crowd, the service was fast, friendly, and genuinely impressive. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and took the time to engage in a nice conversation with us. We shared a bottle of white wine that was crisp and refreshing. The miso soup was rich and comforting, and the Tokyo Special my partner ordered was so delicious. The noodles were perfectly crispy, and the sushi platter we shared was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The sushi was truly some of the best we’ve ever had - incredibly fresh and full of flavour. To top off an already fantastic evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary ice cream dessert with chocolate sauce after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary - a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that made the experience even more special. We would absolutely recommend KUKU to anyone visiting Plymouth.”
“Absolutely divine food! For the starters I had the famed scallops, which was very fresh and complimented with the use of sour apple flavours. Then I had the crab which was absolutely the best! Such a unique yet magical blend of flavours. For the main I had the wagyu, which was melt in your mouth. For the pre dessert they made you play a paper game at the beginning and they use that to figure out what dessert you would prefer! Very creative, not the mention the dessert was amazing. For the bread I loved the goat butter with honey on top. Service was attentive. They noticed that my partner was left handed and moved the utensils to the left for his convenience. All in all it was a perfect dining experience which I would 100% recommend to anyone who plans to visit.”
“Plymouth Miller & Carter as always, was outstanding! We go a few times a year and it’s always amazing. Nikki has served us here a few times and is amazing! Very attentive, couldn’t do more to help, makes sure everything on our orders comes out correctly. Nothing is ever a bother and she does it all with a smile and a laugh. Lovely meal for our 1st anniversary and of course we will be back soon.”
“Only my second visit to Monty's - first time was many years ago - but I'll definitely make the effort to come back next time I'm on the Barbican. I only intended to pop in for quick tea and cake but got thoroughly distracted by the menu in the window and ended up ordering a gorgeous Eggs Florentine. The poached eggs were perfect, on the right side of soft without being snotty, and the hollandaise was beautifully rich. The servers were very friendly and cheerful too. Thanks very much!”
“Great food and vibe! Wonderful staff very attentive ! The cat is a wonderful addition to the bar! Unfortunate that people like "Louise" in the comments has to be a drag about it. The cat adds to the pub! Definitely recommend you stop by! :)”
“Really lovely place for coffee and cake or a bigger meal. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Great selection of books, jigsaws and gifts. Highly recommend the bacon and maple syrup pancakes!”
“I love a Nissen Hut! There is something about curved corrugated that appeals! Loved the 50s industrial feel of the place, chairs were cool, but not the most comfortable. Kitchen is on full display and its busy. Enjoyed the food, desserts were excellent. Lovely ambience and when the rain stopped a beautiful post meal coastal walk was a mere step away.”
“2025 update We have visited here for many years and this was the first time we were disappointed. 1 order of a vegetarian breakfast baguette (meant to have hash brown, eggs, sausage etc) only had the veggie sausage in it. I also ordered 2 pots of tea to share by 4 people. I was given 1 pot and when I asked for the second pot it was told it had the same amount as 2 pots in it (we squeezed 3 small cups from this pot) . I explained that it didn't wasn't correct and also that we needed 2 more cups. The server didn't seem happy to comply, but she eventually brought 2 more cups over. A vegetarian breakfast is now £10.50. I big increase, but that's the sign of the times. We also ordered scones for 4 people. This is where the disappointment set in. In the past these have been huge fresh scones with the cream and jam served in pots for you to add yourself. Now these are just small scones, nothing special about them, and the jam and cream are put on for your. It takes away part of the enjoyment. A small scone with butter, jam and cream was £5.10 so very expensive now. I would not return to buy this again, which is a shame as we have visited this cafe many times over the years. ,................ 2021 update extended seating area outside. Slightly different menu, lovely falafel wraps and pancakes added. Salt and paper Pots removed due to covid. Vegetarian breakfast is great value at £6.99 and very tasty. I like that they allow you to swap items too. ,............ We visit here each time we visit Whitsand bay. Waited a short while for the scones but they were freshly baked. Very generous portion sizes. Love the quirky salt and pepper shakers. Such stunning views all around. Cream tea was £4.50 per person. Large scones, loads of cream and jam and a huge pot of tea. Menu includes a fantastic range of baguettes and sandwiches. Lots of vegetarian choice. A nice casual cafe right on the cliff. No good for wheelchair access.”
“For a small village cafe, this place ticks all the boxes. I started going here a couple of years back, just after lock down. I found an amazing array of cakes and delicious cafe food. I believe that most of what is on offer is home made. The cakes are always different and always amazing. Some of the best cheesecake I've tasted has been here. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Even if it is really hectic and busy, which it can get. It is very popular. The views over the river are lovely and in nice weather there is outside seating to enjoy too. Inside you have nice views and loads of local crafts and arty things you can buy as well. It just feels really welcoming. I have spent a fair bit of time sat there "working" on my laptop whilst enjoying a hot drink and some good grub. It is even dog friendly. So you can take your furry friend along to enjoy the atmosphere too. I would recommend this place any time. It even has better opening hours than a lot of places in Torpoint. Well done Hearts. Recent update - Had their chicken club sandwich recently. It was delicious. All the ingredients were lovely and fresh and it came with some nice chips.”
“We came in for a late Sunday lunch, unsure if they would be able to accommodate. We sat outside with our son and dog and were met with a lovely reception. We ordered 2 beef brisket dinners and a child's dinner. The food was amazing. Portion reasonable and selection of vegetables good. The best part was the meat, it fell apart and was well seasoned. Afterwards we enjoyed a dessert to share and sat looking across the estuary. We will return on our next visit to this unspoilt place.”
“Stumbled across this place quite late in the evening looking for somewhere to have dinner. They squeezed us in and the ambience of the restaurant was just lovely. The service by all waitresses and the owner was spot on. The food was perfect! You could tell a lot of pride has gone into this little place. I would definitely go back if in the area and highly recommend”
“Can't fault this pub, food or staff in any way whatsoever, was all 100% perfect! It was fully booked but managed to eat after a pint of cider( strong & delicious)due to a table not turning up! The vegan Borlotti bean & fig roulade with a bright red fruity jus was so delicious, filling and just so different from the usual vegan pub roasts, felt properly spoiled! The vegetables just kept coming too,we enjoyed every single mouthful and can't wait to go back! The staff were all so friendly despite it being very busy on a Sunday lunchtime.”
“This is an absolute gem of a pub! Rang super last minute after a day hiking Dartmoor and we were starving. Maria managed to squeeze us all in (me, my partner and our three collies!) for tea within half an hour. Absolutely excellent service and friendly staff! We went on pie and pint night and it was busy but service was excellent and waiting staff were attentive. Food was incredible and portions were generous! Really recommend a visit if you’re in the area and it also has rooms so you could stay. If ever we return we would 100% go back. Thank you so much :)”
“Amazing bar leaners overlooking the beach / sea! Super yum very well presented food and awesome service. Will definitely be back!”
“We were on holiday staying at Portwrinkle holiday houses and this pub was a short walk from the beach and lovely Sunday roast and great portion size. Really friendly and welcoming staff and was able to fit us in as a table of 8 at fairly last minute. Great place would highly recommend”
“Visited on a Saturday with family, very welcoming, all the staff were lovely. Good food and good beer. Definitely recommend”
“Went and had the roast today, I had the pork and was very delicious and would highly recommend it . And will be returning to try their afternoon tea. Staff very friendly thank you for a lovely service”
“Me and my hubby love coming here and bringing the dog. Food is excellent and if u catch it on a sunny day it’s just beautiful sat outside enjoying the views. Little hidden gem!”
“Lovely trust the chef night with great 3 course. Mains were gone before I could get a photo! Their house smoked butter was delicious!”
“Absolutely stunning spot in the village. We were a walk in on a Sunday. We had a delicious Sunday Roast, Beef cooked medium-rare (perfectly!!) & Pork with crackling. Followed by a generous sticky toffee pudding. Such a friendly and relaxed environment (I believe we sat in the snug) lovely characterful building but with beautiful lighting too. Dog friendly which is a bonus. Will definitely recommend and be back again in the future! ☺️”
“Easy and convenient way to get sushi on the go. Most importantly the fish and sushi here is very fresh and tasty. Plenty of pre-made choices of nigiri and rolls, with and larger of items that are freshly made quickly when ordered. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to assist with ordering. Very clean inside and out. Would recommend and visit again”
“Visited for lunch and we had some very nice filled rolls and a tasty croque madame. Nice cup of coffee also and all at great prices.”
“The Rising Sun is by far the best pub in the Kingsand/Cawsand area. It’s a family run Free House and the warmth of their welcome is one of the first things you notice and, extraordinarily, the friendliness of the locals who frequent the Rising Sun. The food never fails to be outstanding (thanks to Sally & Paul) and the service from Nikki, Monica and Micheal (the owner) at the bar is always swift, friendly and welcoming. The Rising Sun is a true ‘local’ that creates its own friendly a family atmosphere unlike any of the more ‘touristy’ pubs on the Rame peninsula.”
“Visited The Olde Plough Inn & loved it. Set in beautiful surroundings in Bere Ferrers, Yelverton, it is truly a gem. Sarah greeted us warmly & served us well. Chose home-made beef & veg soup with warm bread rolls (delicious) & syrup sponge pudding with custard, which was devine. Can't wait to return for a lovely walk by the water's edge followed by another tasty lunch. Highly recommend.”
“Thought that we would try Sticky Rice, given that we like Thai food - we were not disappointed. The service was quick and the food was nice, hot and tasty. Will definitely go back. Friendly and attentive staff and nice atmosphere, usual beers available along with a selection of wines, spirits, tea's and coffee. Went again this year (May 2023 and 2024) a few times, although my visit was not picked up by Google. Our experience was the same. (2024) - still highly recommended, decor has changed but the food is still amazing.”
“Popped in for a breakfast at Honey’s today. The staff are great, the food is even better. Well worth the money, tasted fantastic. Thank you.”
“We had a fantastic evening here as a early Valentine's meal, the staff were very attentive welcoming and helpful. The food was exquisite, not one thing to complain about. The goats cheese bruschetta starter was an incredible combination of flavours that left you wanting more and the steak was cooked to perfection! Overall a very pleasant atmosphere with fantastic food and service! Will definitely be back! 5*”
