“Great service, food, and hospitality.”
“Very accommodating for 2 adults and 2 dogs totally dog friendly. Staff were brilliant, couldn't fault our stay. Would definitely use them again”
“Set on the outskirts of Plymouth the location is quiet, pleasant but on main routes into the city or out to Dartmoor. The room was clean fresh smelling and comfortable the bathroom was very small but functional. Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and with a 24 hour reception our after midnight check in was not an issue. The other bonus was the Toby carvery on the same site where we were able to book a nice breakfast.”
“Clean beds, good location, great price. Spacious common areas. Very friendly and helpful staff. They were happy to hold my suitcase and hand it to the postman to be shipped home while I was away. Breakfast is toast, cereal, coffee, tea and juice, but it's included in the already low price. Overall, I am happy with my stay here, and will be back next time I'm in Plymouth. 15-20 min walk from train station. If you're looking to explore Cornwall on a budget, this is a great place to do it from.”
“Excellent place to stay, 10min walk to main entrance of hospital. Very clean comfortable room. A pub situated in the same car park, easy for some where close to eat and relax. Over all a good location when visiting Derriford hospital. Staff were friendly.”
“What are all these bad reviews?! Honestly, I think some of these people were expecting the Ritz for £30/night. I've stayed in more expensive 8-bed dorm rooms. Personally, I had a great time here- good location, fab room (which was nice and warm with the heater on in winter), comfy bed. Unfortunately, on the last night, there was a couple arguing the whole night and then the fire alarm went off at 2am, but I slept through most of this because I brought earplugs with me. You can hear some base noise from the club downstairs but it wasn't that bad in my room. Shower was a bit tepid, but for £30/night it was manageable.”
“Giant room with unexpected balcony. Great location, 5 minute walk from the theatre. Although there's no parking, 24 hr car park was very reasonable. Will definitely stay again!”
“The woodcutters cabin is one of the most charming places I have stayed - the interior is lovely and the architecture inside and out is amazing. The outside bath was a wonderful place for peace and relaxation. The cabin is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. The gardens are expansive and very beautiful. Two things to note for visitors are that the owners house is in close proximity and the garden is shared with the main house. The cabin itself is very private and the owners are delightful, warm and friendly. There are lots of wonderful beaches and coves to explore and the owners are very helpful at giving tips of where to go.”
“Absolutely lovely hotel with incredible kindness and generosity. Fabulous breakfast and just the most wonderful people. You will be glad you experienced this spectacular hospitality experience. Every detail is greatly attended to at The Craft House Hotel in Plymouth!”
“We only had reason to stay for 1 night but everything about our stay was perfect! The owners were attentive and where possible helped us with any issue we had. The room was really well appointed and maintained. It looked and felt as if it had recently refurbished, but after a chat with the owners we found out it had been refurbished 4 years previously but clearly it was cleaned and maintained with every care The breakfast was made with locally sourced ingredients which made it exceptional”
“Thoroughly good experience at Gwel-an-Cay, which we have visited many times in the past. The key collection system worked well, the apartment was in excellent condition, and Cornish Collection very kindly organised the forwarding of a charger which we had left behind. All communications before, during and after our visit were timely, informative and friendly. We couldn’t have asked for more.”
“Another fantastic stay at Brightham house- Its lovely to return to somewhere that feels home from home and to a warm welcome. Outstanding breakfasts and service as always, with so many personal touches and such attention to detail- We particularly love the honesty bar for a nightcap and a board game. Super comfortable beds, crisp bedsheets and ritual products we really value! We were sad not be staying on the Thursday for the iconic Italian night. I can highly recommend this- I would choose to stay here over any “hotel” thanks again we are looking forward to seeing you later in the year x”
“Luxurious Stay - We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful hotel which is modern with a relaxing and homely feel. The rooms were immaculate, our breakfast was waiting for us in the dining room each morning , and was both excellent quality and plentiful. We will definitely recommend and stay again in the future.”
“Brilliant campsite! Stayed here for 3 nights. The facilities are brilliant, very clean and spacious. They allow use of a freezer to freeze ice packs, which is a real life saver when camping. Staff were very friendly and approachable. The food and drink in the restaurant was nice, we ate the first night, and went back again on the last as we enjoyed it that much. Good for walkers with lots of routes out of the site, equally good location central to lots of things to drive to.”
“Our stay at The Land was lovely in every way. The views were breathtaking, beautiful interiors within the cabin, the hot tub was a nice bonus to the cabin. There is also beautiful walking routes from the cabin. We will definitely be coming back at some points and recommend it to anyone!”
“Wow what a place . Amazing toiletries and so clean . Host so friendly and location is perfect . Will definitely stay here again x”
“Always the warmest welcome at this perfectly situated establishment, self catering facilities in every room, such comfortable beds and lots of Dartmoor walking from the door. Very eco friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.”
“We have spent an absolutely amazing, magical weekend at this place. The hosts were so helpful and invited us to feed the alpacas and horses that we loved. The scenery is breathtaking and not having mobile phone signal and wifi is a huge advantage. It helps to come off the screens, focus on each other, have more conversations, play games and relax. The domes are lovely, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The added details like the smores kit, mugs and the activity pack for children are just topping it all. So thoughtful and now we have our most preferred mugs at home. There was one thing though that none of us liked...leaving. We really didn't like leaving this truly beautiful place. We will certainly be back and can't recommend this enough. Thank you to the amazing hosts!”
“A little bit of Devon heaven, superb service throughout, good value for money. It felt like returning to see old friends. Maggie and I both needed to relax and recoup from the year. Thanks to you and your staff we had another great holiday.”
“We loved our stay at Fox Valley Cottages. The location is beautiful. The accommodation, Foxes Den, was lovely. The kids loved the swimming pool and games room. We will be back!”
“The chicken, gammon and leak pie was fantastic. Apple and blackberry crumble was the best I've ever tasted. Fantastic atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.”
“Towards the end of last year my best friend invited me for a spoiling weekend away in Cornwall at the stunning Polhawn Fort which is steeped in history. Having spent a lot of my childhood in Cornwall, this is a part that I didn’t know and wow was it beautiful. The breathtaking views across the Cornish landscape at the Fort and also while driving to the headland where the Fort stands, set the tone for a wonderful weekend of self care indulgence, laughter, good food, and a wellness recharge with great friends. It really is the most beautiful venue in a stunning part of the world. With it own private beach and wonderful wholesome walks together with the opportunity to experience a sound bath run by the owner as well as an amazing horse box sauna with outdoor plunge pool looking over the superb dreamy landscape below us, it really did feel like a total reset and getting back to nature. The fabulous owners are so passionate about the place and you can see this in every part of the fort. The decor is extremely sympathetic to the building and you can really feel and experience the history of it in every room. It’s an unforgettable location and the perfect venue catering for anything from a weekend of friends, a wedding, a special family occasion or simply just time away. It also works for all ages. My 6 years old loved every minute. It was like a fairytale of discovery and hidden parts for her and my godson to discover. Thank you Polhawn Fort for so generously looking after us and for your attention to detail, your hard work and love for Polhawn Fort really shows through in every part of this beautiful venue and really made our weekend such a special and memorable one. I really cannot recommend it enough, I just need to come up with an excuse for our next visit.”
“Excellent facilities with kind, person-centred staff that are accommodating, which stands in sharp contrast to Plymouth's adult social care services. From "The Plymouth Care Whisperer"”
“Absolutely stunning Venue. Chrissy and Sam have created a beautiful space in this gorgeous setting. The Four Elements Team loved working in the perfectly equipped kitchens to provide our couples with their wedding breakfast and private dinning experience. We highly recommend Pentillie & very much look forward to returning. Lily & The Four Elements Team x”
“Lovely village pub, beautiful interior with a good selection of well-kept ales, didn't personally try the food but the menu looked impressive. Not the easiest to get to but worth the journey!”
“Do you know the phrase"going the extra mile"? Sue & Chris go even further! We've already stayed here a couple of times before, and every time we visit it's an even better experience. Apart from the obvious (the amazing location and surroundings), this place is just perfect for a short or long escape. Sue & Chris are just fantastic! Friendly, helpful, absolutely lovely, they make you feel at home... And of course, the rooms have everything you need and they are very well cleaned! Breakfast is delicious! And the pizza is fantastic too! Also, they are fantastic musicians. When they get the chance they'll perform for you and believe me, you'll love it! In fact, this week we had the opportunity to listen to them and their fantastic musician friends! It was such a great experience! In short, YOU MUST COME AND STAY HERE!”
“Beautiful place, fantastic views over the river. Very peaceful area of the world. The roads are a little narrow getting to the house, so best with a smaller size car. Excellent food options just up the road at the Mildmay Colours Inn (walkable), as well as pizza at the Schoolbouse and just a little further at the Rose and Crown in Yealmpton (Sunday Roast and fantastic breakfasts). The Chinese restaurant Ming in Yealmpton was able to deliver excellent food very quickly! We spent a beautiful week here and the dogs loved it too!”
“Cracking place to get away for a long weekend. Amazing the amount of produce they offer from farm to table. From the food box in your room to the food on your plate.”
