“This is one of the best b&b’s we have ever stayed at the room we had was spotless with an amazing view over the valley I couldn’t say a bad word about the accommodation, location or Andrew and teresa. Andrew and Teresa are lovely people who have so much pride in what they do it’s unreal I’m definitely going to recommend their place to anyone I know wanting to go to Cornwall. They also made a massive effort and went out of their way to accommodate my 11 year old daughter by taking her to collect the eggs and feed the chickens and the sheep along with asking her if she needs anything to be more comfortable.”

“The single room I stayed in was very small but other than that the building is lovely. Family run and you can tell. You're not going to get much better for the price, and the location is brilliant for tourism as you're right by the Hoe, and 10 minutes walk into town. Well stocked breakfast options too. The 5 stars are obviously still relate to the price - obviously don't expect more than a very homely and comfortable room, no gym or concierge etc lol.”

“My partner booked this as a birthday getaway for me and it couldn’t have been more perfect. A wonderful experience in the most peaceful setting - we stayed in the Wollemia pod and the horses on the field next door kept us company. The whole garden (and pod) is sustainable and eco-friendly which we loved. We made use of the fire pit which was lovely and warm under the stars. We also treated ourselves to massages and both felt so relaxed afterwards. There were other glampers during our stay but the pods are all cleverly laid out so no one bothers anyone. A very highly recommended stay - thank you Dan and Victoria!”

“Had a great time here, staff were super approachable and helpful! The house was wonderful with plenty of storage and utensils to use. Slept really well and enjoyed the view every minute of our time there. Walks were stunning in both directions but be prepared for relentless steep climbs!”

“Just returned from my latest stay with railholiday. Have been visiting for many years and stayed in each of the carriages at St Germans. This trip was a return to Millpool with has one of best views overlooking the Cornish countryside. In all this time the holiday experience has been more than 5 star and Lizzy and Dave continue to be the perfect hosts - not intrusive but always there for help and advice. The carriages are always clean and cosy (even in January) and everything works! I plan on a second visit this year, so thanks for having me… ERIC G (Hertfordshire)”

“We were looking for somewhere very dog friendly and with EV chargers, Kernock Cottages did not disappoint. Our standard poodle Theodore had a great week, the enclosure areas allowed him to run around freely. We used the hot tub every day, superb to watch the sun go down. Very relaxing. Great pub within 15 minutes walk, some nice vegetarian food options. We visited 2 of the dog friendly beaches and did a few walks as we were fortunate to get great weather in April. Highly recommended.”

“Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Just back from a short break away in The River Shack. Felt a million miles away and was great to just sit and relax and enjoy the views. “We just enjoyed a beautiful and relaxing weekend in The Barn. Fingals is such a warm, friendly place with distinct style and character. We loved using the pool, sauna and games room, also enjoyed the art throughout and the lovely gardens. Recommended!”

“I really enjoyed my one night stay here. I had a very warm welcome and my bags carried to my room for me. There was fresh milk and plenty of tea and coffee. I had an ensuite room with a lovely shower and nice toiletries. Everything was spotlessly clean. My bed was firm with bedding high quality. There is free parking. Breakfast was excellent and very friendly and accommodating. The owners make/grow their own produce. I will definitely return here. The 5 star reviews are absolutely deserved.”

“Staff were second to none and the whole site was spotless Our one bedroom cottage was exceptionally clean, spacious with an open plan living dining and a kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher and washing machine! Upstairs the large bedroom had king size comfortable bed with loads of storage plus a bathroom with bath and shower. If that wasn't enough there was a separate toilet. The outside space at front was great with patio table and bench seats and private enough. For us the location was easy to get to off the A38 and just over an hour from all the places we wanted to visit. My husband is not one for travelling/sightseeing but for him to say he would stay there again says it all. A peaceful place to chill out and not venture far if you don't want to. Enough places to do food shopping within a3-milee radius. We didn't take advantage of the bonus of access to nearby leisure facilities so can't comment.”

“This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this guest house in 6 months. It really is a great find. The rooms are excellent and spotlessly clean. The instructions for entry and exit are really clear and all communication is great. The location is really nice and very close to the seafront where you have plenty of choice for eating and drinking. We used this as a base to drop my daughter at the university. Hope to stay again!”

“I'm so glad to have chosen this place for my 3-night stay, visiting Plymouth for the first time. The staff are very friendly, complimentary breakfast was nice (choice of English breakfast or a vegetarian version), and the location is quite central, between the coast and the town centre. The room was an appropriate size for what I needed, I had no trouble falling asleep, there was a chair and desk available too. I would definitely stay here again if I were to make another trip to Plymouth.”

“This is an absolute gem of a pub! Rang super last minute after a day hiking Dartmoor and we were starving. Maria managed to squeeze us all in (me, my partner and our three collies!) for tea within half an hour. Absolutely excellent service and friendly staff! We went on pie and pint night and it was busy but service was excellent and waiting staff were attentive. Food was incredible and portions were generous! Really recommend a visit if you’re in the area and it also has rooms so you could stay. If ever we return we would 100% go back. Thank you so much :)”

“I loved it here so much! Pam (owner) is so lovely and welcoming and showed me where everything is and it was a pleasure to meet her. I was then left to my own peaceful little camp. Super quiet and a beautiful location. Had a walk around the woodland and woke up and had breakfast surrounded by beautiful trees. I will be back many time more for sure!!! “A simply superb place to take your other half to celebrate anything. Food and drink was great, really historic hotel full of character. Faultless service. We had the evening meal in the ballroom, with a different wine with each course. Simply superb. The trio - a singer, piano player and guitarist, were perfect, great ambiance. Expensive stay, but worth every penny.”

“We had the most amazing time at Hilton Farmhouse Holiday Cottages in Summer 2018. The site is beautiful, the owners are very helpful, and their children lovely too. Over the course of 2 weeks there were 8 adults and 5 children, and we stayed in 5 of the 10 cottages (we moved half way through as needed a bigger cottage the second week and wasnt available the first week): PEAR TREE Of the smaller cottages, our grandparents (age 90) stayed in Pear Tree. They weren't massive fans of this unfortunately, although the cottage itself is fine, they just felt that, and probably more of an issue as they can't get about very well, that there wasn't really anywhere for them to sit out and enjoy the views. French doors in the back of the cottage would have been AMAZING! Even when sat on the sofa it was too low to see out of the window. I think they were just a bit far from the rest of the family and unable to watch the children playing on the play area. Note that it really is only a very short walk up a bit of a hill but just something that my grandparents struggled with. It's unfortunate for them that this was the most accessible cottage. The owners had even swapped the picnic bench for table and chairs for them so it was no fault of the owners. POUND My parents stayed in Pound cottage which was just amazing. Right on the play area/meadow, so ideal for watching the children play, as they also had 2 children staying with them. A nice picnic area out the front too. This cottage would have been perfect for my grandparents as it is also an accessible cottage, however only had a shower over the bath, and not a walk in shower, so unfortunately this made it inaccessible for my grandparents. It's an amazing cottage. PRIMROSE I also stayed, with my sister and children, in Primrose which sleeps 5 & is a lovely cottage. Overlooking the pool (but with a driveway/road in between). Small balcony on the front. The middle floor is the living area / kitchen, & downstairs there is a double bedroom & a small single bedroom. Upstairs above the living area is a mezzanine level. This was fine for myself but couldn't let the kids be up here on their own as there was the risk they could climb/fall over. Probably for a family of 5, with young children the cottage isn't ideal as you're split over different levels, but for us it was perfect! Top tip, when you're unloading the car on arrival, pass things through the bedroom window, otherwise you're running up & down no end of stairs!! STABLE My hubby & the pup came to stay for a few days, as there was a small, dog friendly cottage available, being Stable. This was the middle of the smaller cottages. Again not really anywhere to sit outside, but this didn't matter to us as we had family across the site, & were out & about in the day anyway, plus it was only for a few nights. BADGER My brother also came down to us the second week, and so we moved from Primrose into Badger. Badger sleeps 6, and the cottage felt so much more spacious! If Badger is available I would definitely choose it over Primrose, just for the extra space. But layout was pretty similar. There was a bunk room instead of a small single, and this was even much bigger. Maybe because it was an end property? The mezzanine in Badger was much better as it was all enclosed with frosted glass so felt much safer, more like a bedroom. It also meant that the children could go to bed up there when we were talking downstairs! OVERALL The site as I have said is lovely. It's a lovely size. The children were safe to roam the site, the play area and the games room, with the animals to look at too. The pool was fabulous and so was the hot tub, although we didn't use that as much. We tended to spend the morning and early afternoon at the beach and then come back to the heated pool late afternoon. The location is perfect. About 7 min drive from summerleaze beach. There are plenty of kitchen utensils in all of the properties so that was good. We looked to return this year but it was already booked up unfortunately so we know to book early next year!!”

“Booked a last minute break with our dog. It was our first time away with him and the hotel proved to be the perfect accomodation. The room was immaculate and there were plenty of areas for dog walking. Peaceful and beautiful, will definately book again”
