“Banging Chicken. OMG stop here if you love chicken. This is not fast food or mass produced. Sit back relax, enjoy the surroundings. Freshly cooked to order, amazing flavoursome coatings. I had the burger ( see photo) which was delicious. Will definitely be back again when I visit Cornwall.”
“This was our (family of 3) first visit to Annex, Tavistock. The Tapas dishes in Annex are delicious. The taste is very good with burst of flavours. The service is excellent and we felt welcomed with the smiling faces of the staff. We will definitely be having our meals here when we are around Tavistock.”
“HonkyTonk is such a great spot for yummy food and great wine! I’ve been a few times and took my family for birthday drinks and food and they all raved about what a lovely evening it was! Jenny was amazing, she was covering the floor by herself and didn’t stop all night but still managed to make time for each table, was really friendly and really added to the evening! We got two x sharing boards for two and it easily fed the six of us! Can’t wait to return in the warmer evenings to enjoy the sunset out by the water with a glass of wine in hand!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolute gem – the best place we’ve eaten in Exeter! From start to finish, our experience at Stage Exeter was exceptional. The service was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. The whole place has such a warm, homely feel, and even though we were sat outside in October, it was perfectly cosy under the outdoor heater. The food was out of this world — creative, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavour and made with real care and imagination. It’s clear that quality and detail are at the heart of everything they do. They also catered brilliantly for my nut allergy, which gave me complete peace of mind — a huge thank you for that. For the quality of food, service, and atmosphere, it’s amazing value for money. Without a doubt, Stage Exeter is the best place we’ve eaten in the city. If you haven’t tried it yet, I couldn’t recommend it more highly. We can’t wait to go back and bring more friends with us. Thanks for a wonderful evening!”
“A brilliant bar and bottle shop. Veey well stocked with some amazing beers on top. Hugely knowledgeable staff and a great atmosphere. I can't wait to come again.”
“Just popped in to have a look at the gin selection, we were pleasantly surprised by the existence of a garden to sit in and taste some gins. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name but he was the epitome of hospitality! Kind, inviting and most importantly knowledgable. He was amazing at helping suggest drinks and also just brilliant at his job, would highly recommend coming here for a drink or at the least just to see this gentleman to educate you on gins!!”
“8 of us went for Sunday lunch, the food and service were amazing. The main highlights were the meat, I had the Beef but other members of the party had the Lamb and the Pork, all of us commentated on how good the meat was, the other highlights were the cauliflower cheese, which comes as standard, as does the yorksire puds and the unlimited gravy. Will most definitely be going again.”
“My third or fourth visit in as many months and still consistently good. Quiet ambience, pleasing decor and a beer list bordering on both trad and contemporary with a heavy bias towards local beers, kept in top condition and served at your table by enthusiastic staff. Saltash is once again a destination for a decent beer after perusing the charity shops and record shop across the road. A gem.”
“Really good food, well priced, fast and lovely service!!! Highly recommend!!!”
“Love everything about this pub. Great selection of drinks, ales. Lovely service and atmosphere all top notch. A real hidden gem on North Hill”
“Such a gem of a vegan place. The rosemary fries are fab and belong with everything! Happy to serve kids portions to adults, which is great if you've a small appetite. Generally portions are well sized and menu plentiful.”
“The chicken, gammon and leak pie was fantastic. Apple and blackberry crumble was the best I've ever tasted. Fantastic atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.”
“Lovely place for a meal or coffee. Chi chi and upmarket - but friendly and relaxed at the same time. Very beautiful shop and cafe. Small but great menu. Spotlessly clean too.”
“A hidden gem of Newton Abbot. Set in an old maltings house this place is amazing! A fantastic selection of Craft Beer on the taps, and also a huge range of bottled and canned beer from all over the globe. If you don't like beer there's wine, vodka, gin and soft drinks. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the taproom has a relaxed, family/dog friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit!”
“Fantastic spot, fantastic food. 100% returning to polish of the rest of the menu.”
“Lovely village pub, beautiful interior with a good selection of well-kept ales, didn't personally try the food but the menu looked impressive. Not the easiest to get to but worth the journey!”
“Had a really tasty dinner here. Beautiful building inside and out. Fresh homemade pasta and some lovely wines. We brought our kids too and they offered either pesto or beef ragu pasta which was perfect alongside a foccacia we ordered.”
“If you’re seeking an exceptional dining experience, look no further than Frou Frou, where every element—from the food to the atmosphere—promises to delight. My recent visit was a journey through flavours, textures, and impeccable service that left me eager to return. I began with the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, served alongside perfectly toasted sourdough bread. The rich, velvety sauce, infused with just the right amount of garlic, paired beautifully with the warm, crusty bread. It was a comforting yet refined start to the meal, setting high expectations for what was to come. For the main course, I chose the Creedy Carver Confit Duck Leg, served with a redcurrant and star anise jus, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and red cabbage. The duck was exquisitely tender, with its savory richness complemented by the subtle sweetness and aromatic warmth of the jus. The dauphinoise potatoes were indulgent, creamy, and flawlessly seasoned, while the red cabbage added a vibrant, tangy contrast that tied the dish together. Dessert was a showstopper: Raspberry Cheesecake. The balance of tart raspberries against the creamy, luscious cheesecake was a triumph. It was neither too sweet nor too heavy, leaving the perfect lingering note to end the meal. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Frou Frou is enchanting. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with an attention to detail that creates a sense of understated elegance. The staff deserve particular praise for their friendliness and professionalism, striking a perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion. Frou Frou offers not just a meal but an experience. With its outstanding cuisine, delightful atmosphere, and exceptional service, it’s a place I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.”
“Really nice deli and café, with a big range of salads, pastries and pastries. Lots of nice options to sit down and eat and loads of nice fancy food to buy. Would be nice if there were some highchairs”
“Lovely local pub, quiet ,nice pint ,dog friendly”
“Friendly and efficient service. The food was amazing and we would recommend it to anybody.”
“My wife and I recently stayed at Hope Cove House with our newborn. Ra and Ollie couldn’t have made us feel more welcome, the staff are fantastic, equalled by the amazing food & wine. A beautiful setting, highly recommend.”
“We had a wonderful Sunday lunch - went for the large two meat roast and it was huge! Meat was tender and so flavourful, as were the other accompaniments and lovely gravy - very important! Our dog was made very welcome and there was a lovely buzzing atmosphere, possibly busier than usual inside because the weather didn't really allow for people sitting out. Staff did an amazing job especially considering it was so busy and they do a long lunch service. You'd be very lucky to get in without booking, a good sign that it's popular!”
“Traditional privately run pub with restaurant food. Was beautiful cooked and amazing tastes. Presentation of the food was amazing and proudly presented. The staff were tentative and made you feel wanted. Pub is dog friendly with plenty of locals.”
“We discoved KUKU during our first visit to Plymouth and had a lovelydining experience! Conveniently located in the city centre, we managed to get a table without a booking on a Sunday evening, which was a pleasant surprise considering how busy it was. We were celebrating our anniversary, and KUKU turned out to be the perfect spot. The atmosphere was lovely—cosy yet elegant, with a warm and welcoming vibe. Despite the bustling crowd, the service was fast, friendly, and genuinely impressive. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and took the time to engage in a nice conversation with us. We shared a bottle of white wine that was crisp and refreshing. The miso soup was rich and comforting, and the Tokyo Special my partner ordered was so delicious. The noodles were perfectly crispy, and the sushi platter we shared was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The sushi was truly some of the best we’ve ever had - incredibly fresh and full of flavour. To top off an already fantastic evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary ice cream dessert with chocolate sauce after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary - a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that made the experience even more special. We would absolutely recommend KUKU to anyone visiting Plymouth.”
“Plymouth Miller & Carter as always, was outstanding! We go a few times a year and it’s always amazing. Nikki has served us here a few times and is amazing! Very attentive, couldn’t do more to help, makes sure everything on our orders comes out correctly. Nothing is ever a bother and she does it all with a smile and a laugh. Lovely meal for our 1st anniversary and of course we will be back soon.”
“Great food and vibe! Wonderful staff very attentive ! The cat is a wonderful addition to the bar! Unfortunate that people like "Louise" in the comments has to be a drag about it. The cat adds to the pub! Definitely recommend you stop by! :)”
“We came in for a late Sunday lunch, unsure if they would be able to accommodate. We sat outside with our son and dog and were met with a lovely reception. We ordered 2 beef brisket dinners and a child's dinner. The food was amazing. Portion reasonable and selection of vegetables good. The best part was the meat, it fell apart and was well seasoned. Afterwards we enjoyed a dessert to share and sat looking across the estuary. We will return on our next visit to this unspoilt place.”
“Can't fault this pub, food or staff in any way whatsoever, was all 100% perfect! It was fully booked but managed to eat after a pint of cider( strong & delicious)due to a table not turning up! The vegan Borlotti bean & fig roulade with a bright red fruity jus was so delicious, filling and just so different from the usual vegan pub roasts, felt properly spoiled! The vegetables just kept coming too,we enjoyed every single mouthful and can't wait to go back! The staff were all so friendly despite it being very busy on a Sunday lunchtime.”
“This is an absolute gem of a pub! Rang super last minute after a day hiking Dartmoor and we were starving. Maria managed to squeeze us all in (me, my partner and our three collies!) for tea within half an hour. Absolutely excellent service and friendly staff! We went on pie and pint night and it was busy but service was excellent and waiting staff were attentive. Food was incredible and portions were generous! Really recommend a visit if you’re in the area and it also has rooms so you could stay. If ever we return we would 100% go back. Thank you so much :)”
