“My daughter had a kitchen installed some years ago, and the quartz worktop joints had cracked away and needed to be replaced. I had expected to be sold whatever the correct compound was, and called their Customer Service Advisor team, speaking with Abbie Stewart. She could not have been more helpful, tracking down the original order and then agreeing to have a team come out to repair! But my daughter has sold the house, and we needed the repair carried out at short notice. Again, not a problem - four days after I first spoke to Abbie, the team are booked. Then the tap started leaking (!) - they are in a hard water area and Abbie contacted the Petersfield depot, who had designed and supplied the kitchen. I telephoned and spoke to Ollie, who again proved really helpful. This level of after-sales service is rare, so thank you, Abbie and Ollie! First class.”

“This has to be the best furniture shop in Portsmouth. It's situated in the Farlington industrial estate on Fitzherbert Road. The choice of quality sofas, chairs and curtains are second to none. The staff were both courteous and friendly. So if you are looking for sofas chairs or curtains, then I can highly recommend this furniture shop.”

“We are extremely pleased with our new kitchen, both in terms of function and style. In the few days we have had so far, it has more than exceeded our expectations! From the outset, the team at Controlled Interiors were very welcoming, helpful, open and most of all adaptable to our requirements and schedule. We started the process with some ideas of what we wanted, but unlike our normal planning for such things we did not have a clear picture of what we wanted. Through the planning process we had determined a clear division of responsibilities between us and the company; we elected to have our own builder do some of the preparation work but could have included this in the plans with Controlled Interiors. Our designer, Aggie, was patient and guided us through the options and approach. More importantly, she came up with some excellent ideas to use our space better, which were incorporated into the final designs. The design process was clear and helpful, the 3D designs Aggie produced gave us a real feel for what the final look might be, and we were easily able to try different styles and colours, before settling on our decision. The end result is not only a transformation in style and quality, but also in terms of function and use. The installation work started and finished as planned, there were some unexpected challenges and changes to the plans, but all were resolved quickly and simply. Our installer, Danny, was superb - a true artisan and his eye for detail really shone through the whole installation. Many thanks for signing such a consummate professional. Finally, we would like say how impressed we were with Aggie. Her advice throughout the whole process, her ideas and guidance, professionalism, combined with her friendly demeanour made the whole experience of updating our kitchen both enjoyable and exciting. It was a real pleasure to have her with us on this journey. We very much look forward to continuing to use and discover the benefits that the new kitchen is already offering us. Also, from what I've seen in the store, the staff were being patient with another customer to introduce some products and explained usage that probably suitable for that person. Overall, the staff are knowledgeable about the products and very helpful with their nice service.”

“EPM Upholstery, situated directly behind Material Things on the Fitzherbert Road in Farlington is a real hidden gem. The genial owner/proprietor, Eddie, was able to quote for the re-upholstery of my vintage nursing chair from a single photo and came back with a competitive and reasonable price almost immediately. I was told how much fabric I would need, which I supplied myself, and the work was carried out by Alan at EPM both quickly and to an incredibly high standard, using all the very best materials. I could not be happier with the result. The chair has been restored, revived and looks even more beautiful than it ever has. Alan did an outstanding job and you will never meet a group happier in their work than Eddie and his team. Highly recommended.”

“First time here and pleasently surprised. Really good food and very filling. We had the chicken sandwiches and the crab quiche. We didn't have to wait at all, and the staff were very polite and attentive. There are three seating areas and two inside and one outside. The one at the far back has a heater and is very nice and warm. The chairs have cushions on them n blankets, so if you're a bit chilling, you can get warm and feel cosy. These are nice touches, and I feel this does make it nicer than other places. They are not only making it look nicer but also thinking about customers who may feel the cold quicker than others like myself. We will definitely be going again.”
