“Enjoying a lovely cup of tea and a delicious French savoury cake made using flour from the dried grains used to make the excellent beers here. Perfect start to the weekend. (Cake available weekends only. Open for morning tea / coffee on Saturdays from 9am.)”
“We try steak double cheese pie and lamb mince pie, not bad, gravy also recommended”
“Had a birthday lunch here with my daughter. The restaurant was buzzing and elevated a lunch on a Friday afternoon to a really vibrant experience! Small mix up with plates with our neighbouring table but we had a fun little chat with our fellow diners and overall couldn't have had a better time. The lunch menu is especially good value for money!”
““Visiting from out of the country, we received exceptional attention and service. The staff had a great attitude, and the food was absolutely wonderful. Overall, it was a fantastic experience — I would definitely recommend it 100%.””
“The quantity of food was impressive. None of our party finished. Quality was good as well. Service friendly and efficient. Parking outside the pub was ok on the road. The pub parking was tight.”
“I came here for supper and a drink with the other young adults from my church after our evening service. The food and drink was amazing, and the service was wonderful. We would definitely come here again and would highly recommend this pub to others.”
“Had a fantastic night - bottomless brunch. Atmosphere was brilliant and all staff were 10-10 but two of the girls went above and beyond for our group. Ellie & Kyndra deserve a bonus!! Thank you for making our night!”
“Excellent Quality Food and Outstanding Service I had a truly wonderful experience and can confidently say that both the food quality and service were exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were polite, attentive, and genuinely eager to make the experience enjoyable. The food was outstanding—fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. Every dish was clearly made using high-quality ingredients, and the presentation was impressive. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the balance of flavours showed real care and skill in the cooking. You can tell that attention to detail is a priority here. What really stood out was the consistency. Everything arrived on time, hot, and exactly as described. Any special requests were handled professionally and without hesitation, which made the experience even better. The service deserves special praise. Staff were knowledgeable, patient, and always available without being intrusive. They checked in at the right moments and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. This level of customer care really sets the place apart. The overall atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal—whether dining in with family, friends, or visiting for a casual meal. Overall, this is a place that delivers on quality, service, and value. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a pleasant dining experience. I will definitely be returning and recommending it to others”
“Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time! Every dish was packed with depth of flavour and clearly made with care. The service was excellent, making the whole experience even better. Our server was brand new on her first day, and although she seemed a little nervous at times, she handled everything so well. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Indian cuisine.”
“We had the set lunch at the Pot Kiln....fabulous food and fantastic service...with a competitively priced menu! The Iberian inspired menu is full of flavour and well presented...From the padron peppers to the Catalan fish stew to the Basque cheesecake with macerated berries...the flavours are nicely balanced and cooked to perfection! Moreover, the great selection of wines nicely complemented the amazing food! The countryside of Yattendon is an idyllic setting to enjoy fantastic food and brilliant service at the Pot Kiln!”
“Really enjoyed our breakfast here, Friendly staff, excellent portion size and the coffee was great!!!”
“Simon & Jason are celebrating 20 years since they opened the Wellington Arms & it's packed every day when open with regulars & new 'word of mouth' clients. 10 out of 10 for quality of food, service, atmosphere & beautiful garden & surroundings. Great menu & daily dishes that made it difficult to choose. I had the 2xbaked cheese souffle stacked with a mountain of finely grated parmesan & my friend had scallops (both simply the best) followed by perfectly cooked calves liver on a bed of mashed potato & leeks with pancetta & perfect mix of herbs then their home-made ice cream.”
“Very good service and the food was really nice. I have to admit the prices for soft drinks are on the higher side. Would be good if the management offered more competitive pricing for drinks besides that I really can't fault it. Meat was cooked lovely, warm. Very fresh and succulent. Loved the complimentary bread. I'd defo come again!”
“My first time here and wow! The best roast dinner I have tasted in a long time - rich gravy and gorgeous beef! Speedy & polite service and stunning country pub! Excited for my next visit already!”
“Beautiful food. Me and my partner shared 3 small plates and then had a burger as well. Everything was delicious and well cooked and flavoured. Burnt ends were incredible!!!!! Service was also 10/10, Ryan was attentive throughout, couldn’t fault him.”
“We recently held a staff meal for 24 people at The Bladebone, and it was an outstanding experience! The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, displaying exceptional service and attention to detail. The food was phenomenal—definitely the best I've had in a long time from a public house. Each dish was prepared with care and tasted delicious, showcasing the quality and creativity of the kitchen. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making our event truly memorable. Highly recommend The Bladebone for any occasion!”
“Amazing food, always friendly service, I go to a lot of cafes in the area but I can honestly say that Mortimers do the best breakfasts for miles around and the latte's are pretty lush too.”
“Found this place randomly whilst on a motorbike ride and very pleased we decided to stop. Service was excellent - staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent - easy to see how much care and attention is put into each dish. Would definitely recommend”
“I feel like I’ve come to the party late but now want to keep coming back…so I’ve been here x3 in as many weeks and already got a date in the diary to come back next week. Down a little lane that looks like you’re going nowhere then turn left and boom…the beautiful, unspoilt Taplow lake. Not only stunning views from the car park but also from every angle in the outdoor decked cafe. Coffees are wonderful and a really good size, cakes are delicious and the brunch is super. Fresh ingredients, well put together. The service on all three visits has been exceptional. Attentive, friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the menu. It has a great Scandinavian feel sitting on the deck, with nice food, looking over a lake surrounded by trees watching the wildlife and kayakers and paddle boarders. What’s not to like?!”
“A really fantastic venue on the outskirts of Maidenhead. I only had time to attend a gig in the studio which was converted for the evening into an intimate theatre. Very friendly staff and very well curated.”
“This place is a little gem! I searched best burger in Basingstoke, and it didn't disappoint! The staff went out of their way to accommodate my Coeliac daughter, even popping out to buy gluten free bread! Chef came out and chatted to us! So friendly, so chilled, we thoroughly enjoyed a non rushed lunch and stayed for pudding and coffee as the atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly. The black cherry gateaux explosion was the best part of the day!!!”
“Wonderful staff and customer service, really care about the customers. The food was incredible, especially the doughnut and pork chop, outstanding taste. The kids meals were very well priced and have generous portions. Great car park and beautiful newly refurbished outdoor garden. Lots of locals, always a good sign. It was really nice coming from London to experience a genuinely good pub compared to some of the mediocre ones I’ve encountered. Definitely a pub worth visiting.”
“Very good local pub with a friendly atmosphere. The decor is classic old school, the are 2 very nice, old looking wood burning stoves. The bar staff were friendly enough and the beers on tap were very reasonably priced, especially for a pub down south! We went on a Friday and it was busy, but I think that adds to the atmosphere, but turn up early to get a table if you're a big group. I will definitely be returning on the not too distant future and recommending this pub to friends and family. Oh, and it is cash only, so come prepared.”
“A really lovely locals pub with a great selection of real ales, including Harvey's Sussex Best, which I had on my visit. This was my third visit over the course of many years and happily it hasn't changed much over that time. A little bit away from the city centre but worth seeking out if you like good beer and a more relaxed atmosphere.”
“Fantastic creative cocktails, excellent friendly service from Darcey.”
“Lovely food and service. Nice atmosphere.”
“Very nice gammon & mustard sandwich on white bread, with salad and chips. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Nice tables and chairs.”
“I reviewed The Plough a couple of months ago and said my wife and I would be coming back, and last night we did. I had the fish and chips again to see if it was as good as I remembered...and it was - so congratulations. My wife had curried pumpkin soup, well seasoned and now on her social media posts as she is a bit of a soup nut. She followed that with the risotto. I bookended my fish and chips with slow cooked ox cheek (very nice). Don't get confused when you see this at £18, it is a starter size, but everymouthful a gem, and Baked Alaska for dessert, which was probably the star of the evening. The service here is great, everyone friendly but also on top of their game. We'll be back!”
“Excellent place to go. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would recommend for a great time.”
“Great friendly Club. Superb snooker room and large bar plus special interest events and groups. Highly recommended.”
