The food is outstanding, it's not licensed, so you can take your own, (or buy it from the store next door) The service, again was great with good advice from the team, definitely worth a visit. The Wednesday night banquet is great value, but you've got to book early and because the portions are generous we had some food to take away as well. Perfect.”

“My first review 11 months ago Wonderful food, service and presentation The proprietor warm and friendly front of house with a busy and professional open kitchen behind him. I had vegetarian dishes which were as delicious as anything I've ever eaten. I collected, but they realised after that the poppadom’s hadn't been bagged so ran a car to my hotel to drop off. The extra mile done with great professionalism and good will. Back tomorrow night and can’t wait. Just been back and Wow!! My team worked in the area last year, and so impressed were we, I left a Google review. This week we were back and ready for a second bite. Not disappointed and, if anything, the food was even better. The sounds of Mmmm, Ooh, and lip-smacking was all that could be heard as the team and I tucked in to our delicious crispy papadums sauce and chutneys aplenty, mouth-watering starters, and top-drawer mains. The fish masala was just something else, dish of the night for me. And like last year the veggie options were well considered, flavoursome, perfectly cooked, and not trying to be curry without the meat, rendering any meat course irrelevant in my view. The meat eaters were equally pleased and consider this place one of the best anywhere. So, I’m over the moon that this gem is thriving and cooking up some of the Indian subcontinent’s finest cuisine”

We went with a salmon sushi platter which didn't disappointed; a couple of chicken ramen and a chicken katsudon - all were simply great. “We went on a Sunday and had the unlimited buffet for £23.95 included a long list of starters, intermediate duck course and main course. All the food was lovely but limited for gluten free and vegetarian options. We had a long wait between the second round of starters but it was busy. The staff were friendly. Have been coming here for years and it's always consistently great food.”

“My family and I visited The Shurlock Inn for the first time as it was suggested to me by a colleague at work. We were greeted by the team and very quickly placed our orders. I would say we must have waited max 10-15 mins for the food to arrive at our table! We chose to go for Sunday roasts which were beautifully presented, everything tasted so fresh. We also went for desserts. Again, everything was presented nicely and tasted excellent. Our only thing which could be improved potentially is the thickness of the gravy/custard as these both seemed on the watery side. I did not let this reflect the rating as everybody has their own preference for gravy! We definitely will return. Thank you again. Courtney & Family.”

Jason and the team made sure our special day went flawlessly and truly was the most beautiful day of our lives! The service was 12/10! The food was 12/10! The attention to detail was incredible. They knew the seating plan and which guest had which dish, they accommodated our request for gaps in between courses and they just genuinely provided the most incredible experience anybody could wish! The venue is beautiful and honestly I can’t recommend them enough! I would give 6stars if I could. We will definitely be coming back!”

This place should be packed to the rafters, there was absolutely nothing that could have been better during our meal. “My brother just moved to the area so, first night we just ordered the exact same from both Taj and from Monsoon down the road. Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Onion Baji and Keema Naan. The Taj wins hands down and it wasn't even close. This seems to be a much more authentic Indian Curry than down the road which was the bright red Masala you see lots of places. Monsoon is decent enough but The Taj is different league for us. Highly recommend. The Taj is the one on the left in the photo. Proper looking, authentic Masala.”
