“Booked here at late notice for easter sunday. All staff were lovely and so helpful even when the children were asking for different bits. Nothing was to much trouble. The inside of the restaurant is amazing and beautiful views over the river. The food was to die for and i would recommend it to anyone. Fairly priced for such a yummy meal and good service. Hope to go back in the summer.”

“The Shiny Sheff pub opened in the late 60s and for most of its life, has welcomed visitors with a sign depicting artwork of HMS Sheffield, the famous Royal Navy destroyer. Sadly 20 crewman passed and many more were injured when the ship was attacked during the Falklands conflict 40 years ago this week. HMS Sheffield was later sunk, but in memory, a reunion of surviving crewmen, families and friends took place on Saturday 30-Apr-2022. The Shiny Sheff came to life, with hugs, smiles and tears to mark an occasion to remember. The Royal Navy is building the 4th HMS Sheffield and we wish her and the Shiny Sheff a long and happy adventure. A commemorative parade and service of remembrance was held at Sheffield City Hall and the Cathedral on 01-May. A two minute silence was observed for those not forgotten.”

“Clean and spacious room and bathroom. As is pretty standard now most of the sockets in the room have built in USB chargers, so just being a USB cable with you to charge your phone. Not sure if it was due to the current fuel prices, but it was nice that for once the room wasn't overbearingly hot on arrival. Only downside was that check-in was very slow, it took almost 30 mins (arrived just behind another group).”

The kind lady made some fresh extra crispy bacon for my pregnant sister craving it crispy. Warmed our crossaints and very attentive. The food is absolutely bang on. “Fantastic value carvery. Front of house greeted us very politely and was told unfortunately only turkey was available, which was okay as I hadn’t booked a table in advance. Service was swift and very friendly. Food was very nice and well prepared and served. Was offered a complimentary desert due to the lack of meat options. “We come every week after our hike in the peak district. Therefore we get the special offer of 2 meals for £13.99. The gammon is our favourite you get a large piece with egg, chips and peas. This is washed down with a pint of Morretti and a Gin & Tonic just what we need after our long walk. Fast service with polite staff who come and check if everything is okay.”

“Went in for a family meal. Not sure what to expect with previous reviews but couldn’t fault the food. Turkey Sunday roast was huge and had a proper homemade Yorkshire pudding. All 5 of us had different things but the stand out was the steak and ale pie and homemade chips on the hunters chips. Beware huge portion sizes. If that’s ok then head out for food. Compliments to the chef”
