Indian restaurant in Southampton

“Decided to pay an impromptu visit here tonight whilst visiting family in Southampton. I can categorically say this is the best Indian meal I have ever eaten. The curry had so much depth in the flavour - not just full of spice - and the lamb so tender, honestly amazing. The staff were attentive and helpful and made us feel welcome - great service. All for a reasonable price too. We don’t live locally, nor come back to Southampton too often, but will certainly be coming back to this fantastic find when next in the locality - and will ensure we recommend to local friends and family! 10/10!!”

“Excellent buffet brought to the table. First time in, checking it out for a group of 12 I am bringing next week. But, have to cancel that now having discovered there is mo lift and we need wheelchair accessible for one of our party. What a shame...”

“Discovered this place just over 1 year ago, I have always had takeaway, is always flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Staff are welcoming and friendly if you have any problems you can get in touch and they will try and fix it. Brilliant service and are looking forward to dining in with my family next time we want a authentic Indian food.”

“We ordered for the first time and have to say it was the best takeaway curry we’ve had in ages. The food was lovely; we had the Murgh Shakoti, a new one to us, but was a lovely sauce with generous chicken portions. The tandoori chicken was also very nice and tender. Plus the delivery arrived 5 mins earlier than stated - win, win all around!”

“Really attentive and kind waitress and chef. Came here with three generations of family, old and young, and the hot pot experience managed to captivate them all. At home we were more used to a shared pot so the individual pot was novel and fun. A really clean restaurant with many free sauce and condiments to choose from. The food selection on the conveyor belt and to order was fresh and varied. The meat arrived on plates as cargo on a train on the second level of the conveyor belt. Was a super fun and cute way of delivering food that delighted the whole family! Dessert fruit and ice cream was also a touch. Definitely recommend and will come back here next time I’m in the city! ✨”

“Been here twice recently and both times have been very good. The curries are delicious and served nice & hot thanks to the hot plates they put on the table. Love the Jhaal Ghost! Service always excellent and received complimentary shot at the end of our meal. Excellent value too. Will be back!”

“The food and service at this restaurant is excellent. Good quality food at reasonable prices and very large portions. Also you can take your own alcoholic drinks. Soft drinks are available. I like Lamb Bhuna and chicken dhansak but all dishes are tasty. I've been eating this type of food for over 60 years. Best food in the area. Worth a visit .”

“Simply the best curry you can get in Romsey. Taste superb, delivery ontime, price excellent. Since moving to Romsey we have tried many curry takeaways but nothing compares to Pipasa balti, HIGHLY RECOMENDED.”

The reviews for this place were very good - the only issues people seemed to be about Deliveroo problems, so we figured it was a safe bet. Service was super friendly and the food was genuinely delicious. The three curries that we ordered (CTM, Dhansak and Passanda) were distinctive, memorable and well executed. The special fried rice and peshwari naan were seriously good! A fantastic meal. I think we have a new local!”

“After a lovely two days in Bournemouth, we were heading back to the midlands on a 4.5 hour journey, but needed to eat so we could survive the loooong journey home. I read the reviews and we popped in for our dinner. So happy we did. It was just what we needed to give us the kick start. The food was delicious, fresh, tasty, great portions and very reasonable prices. My hubby and eldest had the buffet for £19:99 and me and my youngest had paneer tikka, chicken Peshawari. The chef was so kind he made us some special tea with spices to help us with our long journey. Staff were professional, helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend this lovely place. Thank you to the staff at Great Mogul you really helped make our journey home so much better.”

“A very high quality lamb biriani, everything lovely and fresh. Very generous portions, too, plenty of meat - good to see... “Had my first takeaway from here, and it was so delicious . The garlic chilli chicken with the peshawari narn also with Raitha made a perfect meal I highly recommend it if you like a kick of heat with lots of flavours. My husband had the Dhansk also delicious. We shall definitely go again.”
