“I’ve visited Winchester so many times and I can’t believe how missed this place before. My dining experience was enhanced by the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to ensure that each guest had a memorable dining experience. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The sushi was an absolute highlight of the meal. Each piece was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality. The fish was incredibly fresh, almost melting in your mouth, and the rice was perfectly seasoned and held together beautifully. The attention to detail in presentation was impressive. Highly recommended for sushi enthusiasts!”
“First of all I would rate the food. It is freshly made with quality fish and produces. And you can tell that it is made by a single person in the kitchen and served you at the same time. That alone is one of a kind that is really hard to find in the UK. He mainly serves the students around the area, very friendly. I have eaten here a couple of times and the food has been one of the best sushi I have eaten. The price is definitely on the cheaper side given how good it was. If you just want a unique experience, a homely setting, a regular and familiar sight of asia cultural then this is where you want to go. The place isn't very big and isn't made for big parties so is more suitable for table of 6 or less I would say. And expect the food to come out not as quick as there is only one person serving. I will be here often :)”
“Very tasty and freshly made definitely recommended”
“Came there with my mom and ordered a beautiful sushi platter for two. We had it in as there was a small but nice space available to sit at. The fish was fresh and very nice”
“Such a wonderful experience dining at Asian Food Hall. We were wandering around town looking for somewhere to have a late lunch and all of the chain restaurants on the high street were rammed, so we decided to stray off the beaten track and check this place out. So glad we did! The staff were very friendly and the food and drinks were utterly exquisite. We had the squid and Vietnamese spring rolls to start, both delicious with fresh ingredients. The braised aubergine and tofu was phenomenal with an incredibly rich and mouthwatering sauce. The rare beef pho was similarly great with very tender beef, probably the best I’ve had outside of Vietnam. Couldn’t recommend this place more, we will definitely be coming back!”
“This is my regilar to-go restaurant, on both sushi and chinese hot food are fabulous and 100% great quality! Never fails me that I've been coming for over 4 years already! Prices are very friendly aswell with a good range of options, highly recommend to all sushi lovers”
“Amazing value. Casual Chinese cafe. Packing good heat in their dishes. Huge variety and also authentic dishes and taste. Wish we had one of these where I live! (3hrs away).”
“This was our first visit to Wagamama, and after six days in Bournemouth and trying many other restaurants, it was by far the best. We ordered two ramens, gyozas, buns, chicken katsu curry, and drinks — everything was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was great. We’ll definitely be coming back!”
“A lovely little independent Chinese restaurant run by a husband and wife team. The food is cooked fresh and is carefully flavoured, not packed with salt and sugar like so many regular takeaways. We'll definitely be back here and will be recommending to all our friends!”
“Eaten here for over 5 years now food is traditionally Vietnamese the chefs are from the north and south of Vietnam . Good food nice atmosphere and helpful pleasant staff also it’s nice and clean with Vietnamese culture.”
“Lovely experience at Shark Tail Sushi! The food was fresh and delicious, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The staff were genuinely polite and welcoming, making the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. Booking a table was super easy, and we didn’t have to wait long at all for our food. Prices were fair and reflected the quality perfectly. Definitely a place I’ll return to. I highly recommend!”
“I’m only halfway through my meal having stopped to just look at the menu and deciding to make an unplanned stop. The food is the most delicious sushi I’ve had in years. The salmon tartare gave me a mouth orgasm, the scallops were divine and I just added another hour to my parking so I can try as many things I can get in my tummy. This guy has nailed it. My only regret was waiting so long before I found my new food home.”
“They've been there 40+ years food was still as good”
“Very friendly man running the restaurant and cooking the food, very courteous and apologetic for a slight wait… we didn’t wait long at all and he had only just opened! We both went for Bento Box 2 which included: Rice, Bulgogi Beef or Chilli Pork (I had pork my husband had beef), 2 Tempura Prawns, 2 Fried Dumplings, 2 Spring Rolls, 2 Chicken Skewers and a portion of chilli chicken balls each. The food arrived nicely presented and looked great… it tasted fab! Everything was so full of flavour, cooked wonderfully and the meat was nice and tender. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and were so full afterwards. All for a really good price too! Rice Bar Totoro is on our list of places to return to soon, we want to try the rest of the great looking menu!”
“Visited from Sheffield, it actually is one of the best restaurants i have visited for Kurdish food in UK so far, food is fresh and also taste is amazing and light. Also staff is very welcoming.”
“Great place to eat traditional American style lovely pancakes and milkshakes lots of choice 1st visit we had savoury and second visit sweet The owner is amazing and accommodating we ordered the wrong thing and he immediate changed it no issue at all.”
“Just had an absolutely excellent Sunday Lunch today. Two of us are Gluten Free & two had the normal buffet & it was soooooo tasty & freshly cooked. Well done Fuchi you never fail with your delicious food. We will be booking for Sunday Lunch again in a week or two”
“We had very good experience having a meal with our staff and colleagues. The food was so testy, the service was perfect. Nora was really helpful and very polite. We will definitely come back here!”
“It had been quite some time since my last visit to Wagamama's. Returning to their delightful dishes was a joy. The waitress was not only kind and cheerful, but also well-informed, which greatly enhanced our experience. Their fruit and vegetable juices are a personal favourite of mine. As expected, the food was scrumptious. The service was prompt, and the prices were reasonable. A hugely enjoyable dining experience!”
“We had booked a table for 8 of us for a family birthday celebration lunch. Some of our party were late arriving but the staff were very understanding and let us have the table for an hour before ordering our food. James, our server, was friendly and funny and kept us supplied with drinks and snacks until we were all together and ready to order. The food was delicious as always and the meat-eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians were all pleased with their choices. Thank you! And see you again soon…”
“Absolutely brilliant place the service is fast and efficient. The food is amazing and it really feels like a traditional Chinese building. I highly recommend eating there.”
“Loved their food, especially their honey glazed roast pork and fried rice. Can taste the wok hei, which is a big thumbs up. I ordered a salted lemon 7up, and they really made their own salted lemon. Will definitely come back again.”
“Really attentive and kind waitress and chef. Came here with three generations of family, old and young, and the hot pot experience managed to captivate them all. At home we were more used to a shared pot so the individual pot was novel and fun. A really clean restaurant with many free sauce and condiments to choose from. The food selection on the conveyor belt and to order was fresh and varied. The meat arrived on plates as cargo on a train on the second level of the conveyor belt. Was a super fun and cute way of delivering food that delighted the whole family! Dessert fruit and ice cream was also a touch. Definitely recommend and will come back here next time I’m in the city! ✨”
“Amazing food, atmosphere and well priced. Would definitely recommend.”
“Had a nice time at this great restaurant. It had a nice ambiance with soft Sri Lankan music playing in the background and attractive interior deco. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and made sure we had a good experience. We tried the beef fried rice, Negombo Pork, and the fish cutlets. All of them had the authentic taste and tasted very good. They are happy to adjust the spice, salt, and sugar levels for your need as well! Which is a big green flag for a restaurant. Would 100% recommend it for an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience.”
“They make the sushi everyday. The sushi is very delicious, the staffs are very friendly, and very good service. I definitely go again.”
“I hadn’t visited dim t in Winchester for years, but I decided it was time to rectify that, and I booked a table for a Saturday night meal with some friends. The restaurant was very busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. Once seated, we were given the fantastic menu, and I spent a long time trying to decide what to have! The bao buns I had to start were fantastic – light, fluffy, and packed full of fillings. For the main course, I opted for Nasi Goreng, which I’ve had before in Singapore. I have to admit, I actually preferred this one to the one I had on holiday! It was very well-flavored, generous with the fillings, and a very enjoyable dish. I still had a small amount of space to share a dessert – and their Peanut Sundae was calling to me. It was honestly fantastic; it’s everything you want in a dessert. I found the entire experience very enjoyable, with the food being fantastic and the service being friendly and attentive. I also found the value very good too – with drinks and three courses coming in very reasonably. I’ll certainly be back again soon, as it’s a great place for a delicious dinner that doesn’t break the bank!”
“Simply stunning food, atmosphere and customer service. The waitress knew exactly what to recommend after I suggested duck - I didn't want anything spicy so went for the black bean duck. It tasted so fresh, soft, healthy and varying bits of delicious duck fat chopped to perfection! Slightly salty but portions are also very generous so I'll be coming back for my duck fix instead of ordering the unhealthy duck wraps”
“Shanghai Bay’s Cantonese dim sum is absolutely top-notch, offering an authentic taste of traditional Cantonese cuisine. My favorite dish is the Fresh King Prawn Cheung Fun (大鮮蝦腸粉)—the rice rolls are silky smooth yet delightfully chewy, and the prawns are impressively large, fresh, and flavorful, far superior to the usual frozen ones. Among other dim sum, I especially love the Prawn Dumplings (鮮蝦餃皇), which are made without fatty pork. The Minced Pork Dumplings with Prawn (鮮蝦蒸燒賣) and Beef Dumplings with Dried Bean Curd (山竹牛肉球) are also excellent. The Fried Dough Cheung Fun (炸兩), featuring crispy Chinese dough sticks wrapped in rice noodle rolls, is wonderfully crunchy, and the mini Glutinous Rice with Meat in Lotus Leaves (迷你珍珠雞) are perfectly portioned and well-seasoned. I would even say that the dim sum here is better than any Cantonese restaurant I’ve tried in London, considering both the quality and size of the dim sum. Everything is freshly steamed to order, arriving at the table piping hot, making it well worth recommending. As for Shanghai dim sum, such as the Shanghai Dumplings with Crab Meat (蟹粉小籠包) and Pan-Fried Pork & Vegetable Buns (香煎菜肉包), they are decent but not particularly outstanding compared to the Cantonese offerings.”
“Best baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce I’ve ever had in UK! The Hong Kong style milk tea is very authentic which cannot be missed. Definitely recommend if you want to try delicious and real Hong Kong style / Cantonese food! The staff is friendly and super helpful as well.”
