“Visited here with family between Christmas and New Year as we were staying nearby and needed a dog friendly place to eat. We were more than impressed :)) The atmosphere was lovely with log burners in the front part of the pub- making it feel cosy and festive. The young girl behind the bar was lovely and friendly- as well as some of the local punters who were in there- they made the effort to chat with us and play with our little dog. The food was tasty and fresh and were generous portions. Would definitely recommend visiting here if you’re nearby. We would 100% go back!”
“A group of us, from Fenton Chess Club, went for our annual Christmas meal. The food was excellent as was the service. I would certainly recommend it to my friends”
“Welcoming and good atmosphere. Separate dining area from bar area. Food was amazing, service was great. Nicely decorated.”
“Brilliant food, service and drinks. All served with a friendly smile even when they’re clearly very busy. Well worth a visit”
“We had a vegetarian Sunday Lunch - gorgeous roasties and Nut Toast with the usual veggies. Really good portions and helpful, friendly staff. 2 main courses and 2 pints for under £36”

“Went for a 50th party. Great choice of gins and the buffet which was provided was excellent. Nice friendly staff and the customers were friendly too. A good mixture of ages. Will definately come back when visiting.”
“Where do we start? Thank you, thankyou Zoe and the team for hosting our daughters wedding 27.6.25. Nothing was too much trouble.. everyone was so friendly, the pub was decorated to perfection in a relaxed country floral theme. The flowers decorating the venue were stunning. The food was plentiful, utterly delicious and presented beautifully. There were so many little personal touches that completed the day .The dj kept everyone on the dance floor and again nothing was too much trouble. The Windmill is a real gem..thankyou xx”

“Popped in for food after a day out today, never been here (pub or area) before. Food was stunning and great value, beer obviously well kept and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. Boss and staff really nice, we will definitely return!!”
“Fantastic came in for a Christmas Eve meal and of course it was busy but that didn’t stop the staff from giving amazing service and the food was also just fabulous so impressed especially on Christmas Eve”
“Just had Lunch. My partner had a pork roast and I had a southern fried chicken burger. Both meals were delicious, one of the best burgers I've had. We both also had red velvet cake sundaes which were fantastic! The staff were brilliant, service was very good. The Pub is also dog friendly.”
“Bar staff fab, friendly and efficient. Serving chef, positive with a good sense of humour.. Our waiter for the evening 100% fabulous. Polite, efficient, patient with one of vulnerable players, checked all guests for allergies, checked with chefs and advised a member of our party accordingly. Cleaned away dishes so subtlety no one hardly noticed. Curtesy checked all in our group which was a large number. Apologised for 2 puddings coming out last just 3 minutes after the others which there wasnt a need for an apology as we were a very large group. We had also been sat early too. This young man didn't miss a beat. By far the best waiter ive ever come across, a few of us agreed, we've worked the sector one been a pro chef herself who's hard to impress lol. Some of us tipped as paying the bill. Once everyone had paid up some of the group got chatting with the waiter who thanked us again. We decided to collect a group tip.. We didnt need to or have to.. 1. Its christmas the season of good will and giving 2. The lad didnt miss a beat and deserved a little something. I took the glass to the bar with him set it down and told assumingly his manager that was his tips gave him and hug and wished him a merry Christmas. As the group started to leave a few minutes later he was clearly leaving for home and still went and checked a number plate on a taxi for one of our group before dashing to his car thanking us again. Honestly folks staff as busy as these were on our arrival and still keeping a high standard with a smile on their faces isnt easily found these days. To the Managers, thank you again its always a pleasure and a super well done on the hire of this waiter receipt said laim but I do believe his name is parki apologies if its spelt wrong most of us who asked his name are hard of hearing or have Dory memory lol. Thank you again from all of us a Leek CSOB We'll be back again soon, Have a merry Christmas and a blessed new year.”
“Very enjoyable lunch here today. Sausages & mash, with peas & gravy - washed down with 2 mugs of tea. Food good quality, plentiful and reasonably-priced. Great atmosphere & friendly staff.”
“The pub is in Biddulph not Stoke on Trent. ¹Not the most interesting of buildings. But they cannot all be interesting. Those that are special are worth the visit, just to enjoy the building. .. Llandudno, Penrith, Whitby, for example. But not this one. Architecturally all it has going for it is a downstairs toilet. So settle for the food, which was fine, and the range of cheap beers. The service was excellent. Not busy but still noisy...intrusively so. One or two loud individuals....possibly too much cheap beer. Will not rush back. There are better Wetherspoons just as local. Parking is possible, if you are lucky on side streets, but limited to either 1 hour or 30minutes.”
“Food was lovely and staff were really friendly”
“Came in on 2 seperate nights after a trip to Alton Towers, treated by some lovely staff, the food was quite enjoyable and fairly fast from ordering. Tami provided excellent service and was absolutely lovely to meet and speak too. Should.we be in the area again, we would definitely stop by again”
“We had a lovely afternoon tea, the sandwiches were very fresh & full, beef & horseradish, tuna & sweetcorn, ham & chutney, cheese & tomato, the cakes were delicious, lemon cheesecake, banoffee, cream sponge cake, chocolate cake & taylors tea with nice friendly service in a lovely setting one of the best cream teas we have had.”
“Wow what a change! I absolutely LOVE everything. Food was amazing! We had the ultimate sharer that was so good plenty to share and tasted really nice love the nachos. For mains we had steaks and they came cooked to perfection and we're very tasty. For dessert we had the biscoff cheese cake and fudge cake they were very yummy! There were plenty of TVs around love the pool table and darts and I love the benches! Overall a great experience can't wait to visit again.”
“The staff were amazing and the food was fantastic. Everyone was incredibly helpful. We were there for my mum’s funeral, and I can’t praise Dan and the rest of his team enough. They were so professional and respectful throughout. The food was lovely, and everyone commented on how nice it was. The venue itself was perfect for the occasion, and I genuinely can’t fault a single thing. My only suggestion is that management should invest more in advertising, as we found this place purely by chance – and I’m so glad we did. When I first searched online for wake venues, all that came up were really expensive places that didn’t feel right. This venue only appeared when I tried searching for pubs and hoped they might host private events. Thank you, Dan and the team, for making an extremely difficult day a little easier. I will definitely be recommending you to others.”
“One of the restaurants I like to visit in the UK is the Wetherspoon chain. Delicious food at good prices. This time I wanted to try the Katsu Grilled Chiken Curry. A simple dish but full of flavor, low in calories but enough to be satisfied. The presentation is appetizing: Grilled chicken breast slices on a bed of rice, accompanied by parsley and a few pieces of chili pepper. Tucked in a delicious curry sauce. An indü taste well achieved. I recommend this delicious dish if you like to try new flavors.”
“I had the carvery for the first time yesterday. Can honestly say it was lovely, the meat was all cooked beautifully and so were the trimmings. Not small portions either. The young lady who served us on the bar, Sammie was so friendly and polite she's hands down a credit to the place and the chefs serving food were very polite aswell. The whole building is lovely and clean. I personally love the displays of all the stokie pottery.. being a stokie myself it makes me super proud to see it out on display with pride. Nice sized beer/smoking garden and a small play area indoors for children. Not too pricey and quality of the food is fantastic. They sell stunning cakes aswell which are to die for. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already you won't be disappointed. Can't recommend here enough.”
“This is my 4th visit to the Pepper Mill, well travelling from Scotland on Business. The place never disappoints, so taking a small detour on my journey down south is definitely worth it. You are greeted by friendly, polite, and attentive staff, they have a great selection of food, drink and delicious desert. Caitlyn and Gemma served me with a smile, I highly recommend the hunters chicken. Open and airy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed.”
