“Had the most lovely relaxing day at the spa. All the staff were attentive, treatment was great, lunch was delicious and spa itself was lovely and great facilities. Sat in the outside hot tub with the Christmas decor and a hot chocolate was perfection! Will recommend.”
“Only went for Xmas lunch in the Cellar Restaurant but the food and service were excellent. The restaurant itself was really nice, well laid out and great decor with two log fires roaring away. It was busy when we went but didn't have to wait long at all for the meal.”
“A beautiful little Place right in the heart of Leek. Easy booking and check in process. We was given codes for entry/access to our accommodation when tea rooms are closed. Plenty of parking locally, reasonably cheap and free after 15.30 on Saturday and free all day Sunday. We found our room very clean and was provided everything for a lovely stay. Bed was comfortable, towels good quality and complimentary showering miniatures. Only slight issue was the TV signal wasn't great, channels not watchable but not a big issue. Staff were all helpful and welcoming in the cosy tea room. We ordered breakfast which was very nice and was pleasantly surprised when told it was in with the cost of the room as we was unaware, nice bonus. Overall we had a lovely pleasant stay and will definitely return. We have since found out they have dog friendly rooms so will be back with our little one.”
“The rooms around the back are cosy-sized but very comfortable. I stayed on a drizzly Wednesday night so there was no one sat outside the back of the pub and it was very quiet - can't say how quiet it would be on a Saturday night. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. They had my cooked breakfast ready when I came down in the morning as they knew I needed to leave early, and they locked my bike in a secure room and had it out ready in the morning without me having to ask. Just be aware that if you come by train, it's at the top of the hill!”
“We booked this as a stop gap after a wedding... and omg what an amazing choice it was... The staff was amazing and polite. The location and parking great. The room was fantastic and clean. Free complimentary breakfast in room. I can only say our stay was 100% lovely”
“A beautiful wedding venue with tons of character and charm - the grounds are stunning and Emma and the wedding team are all so welcoming and friendly.”
“The Sunday dinner here was lovely! Great afternoon in a lovely pub, fantastic staff and amazing food. Five star!!”
“Food is unbelievable it was really quiet went a pub for food had no tables the Crewe’s arms for a first time coming had plenty room and the nicest pub food I’ve eaten atmosphere was Dull but we had fun ourselves with pool and a check board and darts just 10/10 loved it thanks again Skye was excellent customer service too!!!!!”
“Wonderful welcome. Very large comfortable bedrooms and superb food! A fabulous place that we will return to regularly. The landlady and landlord and fabulous team make sure every guest is happy. Whether visiting for a drink, food or overnight stay you will not be disappointed. The food portions are huge but save room for the lovely homemade desserts too!!”
“We recently visited while staying over at Alton Towers and didnt want to eat the mass produced food so went here as its quite local and had decent reviews. We were not disappointed with our choice either, what a fabulous little place! The pub part was busy, but service was quick and there was a nice range of local craft ales. The Thai food was fabulous, one of the best red curries I've had for a long time and the family were all pleased with their choices too. Definitely would recommended if your staying in the area, it's well worth a visit.”
“Very nice canal side pub with proper prices not a rip off”
“Excellent food and top notch pub management. Very friendly and welcoming. The menu is pub food, no pretences, just good, honest traditional food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The landlady was very welcoming on arrival and made us feel like we were special. Would definitely visit again.”
“I just want to say a big thank you to Margaret the owner of Peakstones inn everything was great. The beds were so comfortable to sleep. It made you feel like you're back a home. Big thank you to everyone. We will love to come back and stay again. Thank you so much Margaret and your staff for being so kind and make us feel welcome Thank you so so much My kind of regards Cristina Moniz and from my twins thank you again x”
“The food was absolutely superb, quality homemade and delicious. The owners are lovely and made us feel very welcome. We don't live locally but if we come back to this area we would 100% come again. My wife said the Aperol Spritz was the best she's had outside of Italy! Beer was good too. Great for families. Highly recommended.”
“Came for a helicopter ride with Adventure 001. The location is not sign posted so we went to another farm first, but they share the same postcode. What an amazing hidden Gem. Staff at 001 were amazing, Nicole on the desk was so lovely and the flight team were brilliant. Thank you especially to Dave for putting our minds at ease before the flight as he knew we were terrified as never been off the ground before. Champagne after the flight was a lovely touch. I've seen reviews saying but no glass... you are told by the crew to ask at the cafe counter for glasses. It's not an experience I ever thought I'd have, but honestly even if you're scared of heights or flying or generally suffering from anxiety, this team will make you feel completely at ease. Many thanks to our pilot and the entire team at adventure 001 ❤️”
“If you want an escape, a feel like home, mama’s breakfast not commercialised one, a nice garden and quiet countryside this is a place for you! Bath/shower/toilets very clean and comfortable bed. I enjoyed my week stay and coming back for another. The host is a super human and she is very friendly”
“A quintessentially British and cosy B&B. Breakfast was superb and the pool a nice bonus.”
“Lovely location. Amazing views. Pretty flat and good ground. The Hollies is a superb simple camping location, with closeby long walks around the reservoir or up the Roaches. There pizza van is open Friday and Saturday in high season. Facilities get busy if the site is full, but so does everywhere. My only niggle is policy allows people to arrive late. That disturbed the peaceful eve for everyone else on the site. Will definitely be back.”
“Fantastic Family Run Park. Beautiful Lodges and Statics. Some Beautiful Statics and Lodges for sale.perfect place to get away from it all.Stunning Views. Pubs within walking distance. 100% recommended to everyone.”
“Paul has to be the best host we have ever come across. So very helpful , friendly and understanding. The site is spotless.....the facilities are wonderful....we had a lovely stay here and will be going back really soon. We have marked this as one of our new regular go-to places. The only thing we would say , is be careful ordering from the smokehouse restaurant at the end of the lane...it's really expensive for what you get, but that obviously is nothing to do with Abdo hill campsite. Thanks Paul, your campsite is fantastic, we will be back very soon. 5⭐ from me and Charlie!”
“Although it's a hotel it's also good old fashioned local with a good selection of beers and very friendly staff”
“Absolutely lovely hotel. The manager could not have done enough to make us feel welcome and settled. Our room was stunning so comfy and it was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend for its great value and charm.”
“Short version: Fantastic B&B to which we'd happily return. Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming and personable and were very happy to help us out wherever they could; in my case, using the warm, dry, shed to replace a tubless bicycle tyre which had given up on the idea of retaining air inside it. The room was great and everything felt 'just so'. It's unashamedly at the more premium feeling end of the market and worth every penny of our stay there. Special mention must be made of the breakfasts which were spectacular. The continental breakfast was vast and included fruit juice, cereal, croissants, fresh fruit and toast. There is also the (additional charge) option of a Full English which is fabulous, although it may mean you don't eat very much until rather later in the day...there isn't a huge amount of plate showing between the food. Bonus points must also be awarded to the choice of putting peppercorns on the mushrooms. Pro tip 1: if you're after a cooked breakfast (and I'd urge you to at least try it once), it's a good idea to let someone know the night before so they can be prepared. Pro tip 2: Steve and Andy's local knowledge is excellent, both in terms of the eateries, but also the small roads to avoid so I'd recommend taking advantage. I did a Google check on one of them and it'd be ... interesting ... to take a car down there, especially as you're highly likely to meet a tractor coming the other way.”
“I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly restored Ashleigh Buxton in Buxton, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The self-catering hotel is set in a charming building in the heart of the historic town, and the attention to detail in the renovation is apparent from the moment you walk through the door. The interior décor is a wonderful blend of modern amenities and traditional charm, with elegant furnishings and stylish accents throughout. The self-catering apartments are spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for guests. The staff at Ashleigh Buxton were friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and excellent service. The location of Ashleigh Buxton is also a major selling point. Situated in the heart of Buxton, the hotel is just a short walk from the town's shops, restaurants, and attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring everything that the area has to offer. Overall, I would highly recommend Ashleigh Buxton to anyone looking for a beautifully restored self-catering hotel in Buxton. The combination of stylish accommodation, excellent service, and convenient location make it the perfect choice for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in this charming town.”
“Great simple booking process on the website, deposit on booking and final payment at the property which was nice. The wonderful host "Elaine" greeted us personally, even putting our names on our private entrance! Great local knowledge and web links for local restaurants. We will be back to enjoy the great bedroom, private bathroom, private entrance, ample parking and exquisite breakfast.”
“We had an amazing stay at the Tythe Barn House! We stayed in The Granary with 2 adults and 3 kids! Had a little front room kitchen, toilet and two bedrooms! Nice cosy little cottage! The host was lovely and she made us all very welcome! Cooked us a great breakfast in the morning! PS the local dominos delivers here which I is handy”
“Recently got married here and we had a perfect day. Carol was very involved with organising but was never in the way. Nothing we wanted was ever any trouble and the planning process was smooth thanks to the staff. Brett who runs the marquees and wedding side of the business was incredible and again very accommodating. Lovely family and great place. Would definitely recommend staying here for a holiday as well as a wedding as the house is incredible and has everything you could ever need.”
“Great place to stay. Vegetarian breakfast was excellent, with a lot of attention to detail. Quiet location, comfy bed and various complimentary extras such as fruit and mineral water provided. Internet TV was good for iPlayer and other channels. Easy to walk into the centre of Buxton for an evening meal. Some parking spaces onsite plus other parking readily available nearby.”
“This was a fantastic little find for a last minute trip with the family. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we needed. The hot tub was a perfect addition which we enjoyed in the evenings. Wifi in the apartment also. Surrounding area is beautiful. Close to farm shop cafe for a beautiful breakfast. Very close to Alton Towers. Will be back for definite. The hosts are excellent, they really have a beautiful home and we're grateful to you.”
