“Nice clean store, I am a wheelchair user and found it very easy to manoeuvre around the store, staff where helpful with good product knowledge.”

“The store is large, and organised the same as any sports direct: shoe and textiles and in the textiles its split between gender and age; purpose and then brand. Admittedly the store is over crowded with stock, and it is difficult to manoeuvre a wheelchair at the front. However, if you ask a member of staff (usually there is one at the front) they will move stands for easier access. Stock is placed very high, though self-help hooks are available for customers to use, and usually staff will help you out (if they're available). Unfortunately, like all Sports Directs, it is often under staffed, though Honestly some of the complaints about staff are utterly ridiculous. I've been many times and frequently purchased from the store and staff have always been perfectly polite (where appropriate). If anything staff are only rude when customers are rude to them. I recently witnessed one instance where this one girl stood and listened to a customer's tirade for over fifteen minutes (politely ask him to move after she'd served him, so she could serve others- he didn't) before- nearly in tears- she snapped back that if the customer had a problem with staff he should bring it up with the manager (which clearly she wasn't), and explained that she was not her to be yelled at, for any reason. She indicated who her manager was, and said if the customer now had a problem with her too, then he should also tell the manager. After he left, she turned to the couple in front of me and apologised for both the incident and the wait. When she served me, she did the same and I assured her that it was not a problem. Seriously the biggest problem in this store is OTHER customers, they're usually rude or ignorant and will deliberately cut in or interrupt staff as they are dealing with other people. Best to avoid at peak times as this is usually when the worst customers are in store.”

“I bought a pair of Nike shoes from the store about two weeks ago and unfortunately one of the lace eyelets snapped after very light use. I went back today not really knowing what to expect, and Luke on the shop floor was absolutely brilliant. He listened properly, checked everything quickly, and swapped them for a brand-new pair on the spot with no fuss at all. He was friendly, polite, and made the whole thing really easy. It’s rare to get service that good these days, so a massive thank you to Luke and the team. I’ll definitely keep shopping here because of experiences like this. Highly recommend!”

“A really well spoken lady just helped me find the shoes I was looking for (nike blaze 77 size 8) and we even spoke about movies that we liked such as aliens and other sci fi thrillers. She deserves a raise her customer service was 100% the best I have ever seen. Treating me like a friend I haven't seen in a while. So much so she convinced me to buy innersoles. She has great knowledge of shoes and how to move product.”

“Update:. This time around they have much better knowledge of their stock levels - they found some in 8 pretty quick. Helpful staff although like most places they have really small selection of girls trainers in size 8. It's disappointing to find a style you like (and is acceptable for school) and then be told, sorry that style is out of stock in 8.”

“Just been in store this evening to sort an exchange of lots of Bears clothing - brought as Xmas gifts but when arrived the sizing was out on every item! Annoyingly I then had to travel back to store which is a 40 minute drive as they don’t do online exchange…. However the lad that served me in store was absolutely fantastic. He exchanged item by item to make sure everything was right and went rummaging in the storeroom to find me items in sizes that I needed they weren’t out on the shelf. I explained that one of the items was the only thing on my daughters Santa list and he was so accommodating in helping me. Had an issue with a few tops that we couldn’t exchange like for like as the store didn’t have either the same top in or the right size in stock however this was not his fault. I didn’t get his name but their were lots of staff floating around to witness, so he should be able to be identified and given a big Christmas bonus!”

“They always have amazing seasonal clothing I bought a McKenzie Belt in 2009 and it's still going strong.”

“We bought a pair of Crocs online and they were the wrong size. We were visiting grandchildren in Nottingham so took them for exchange at JD Sports at Netherfield, Nottingham. A member of staff was working near the entrance. We were greeted with a smile and he asked if he could help. We explained and he said he had them in stock on the shop floor. He gave us the choice of several sizes and took us to the counter and explained a return and supply of replacement. The lady was quickly on to it in friendly fashion and we both said we should have come here in the first place. We went online for mobility issues. We were treated very well by both people. They are a credit to JD Sports.”

Did have to go on a staff hunt, as needed to try shoes on, but once found the service was quick, but when things are buy 2 for £38, but they don't have 2 of the same size is so annoying and so we only bought the shoes. Also having Game inside the store is wrong and weird.”

“Went in to sports direct at Morfa around 5.30 this evening to experience the sheer horror of purchasing football boots for a picky child with slim feet. The 3 male staff members upstairs who served us were fantastic. One lad was back and forth to the store room for different sized boots every few minutes, he remained cheerful throughout this grueling experience, a mighty feat. I would be lying if I said I'd remained even half as cheerful, whilst my son continued to complain about the comfort of boots that cost as much as a mortgage, or olive oil. After what felt like the whole of 2020, we proceeded to the checkout. The assistant joked that the till was closed, a much needed and appreciated joke by this point, as I had both tears and sweat in my eyes after a decade of watching aforementioned son trying on boots. We had 2 returns and 3 items to purchase. The bag we wanted to purchase had no ticket on it, so the assistants happy sidekick offered to run down to check the price. He came back, almost as sweaty as I was by this point, and we proceeded with the purchase. During the course of this a very snappy little man arrived hoping to exchange items with a receipt for different items, he was particularly rude to one of the sales assistants, who remained professional and polite throughout, not even a hint of passive aggression (which in my own days of retail I laid on thickly in these situations!) Overall the experience could have been truly hideous and stressful, but these 3 cheerful young men and their lighthearted banter saved me from a little mental breakdown. Next time I feel like paying £28 for a bag by some brand I've never heard of, I'll definitely be returning to this store. Update: the £28 bag has a rip in it on day one, from the strain of carrying a pretty much empty pencil case (because apparently my teen son doesn't require equipment for school) and a 500ml water bottle. So the 5 star review is certainly not in respect of the quality of the items sold there.”

“Happy staff, clean, tidy store. Pricing was dodgy though. Picked up a copy of Hotwheels Supercharged for PlayStation and the price on the label was £12 less than the till wanted. On this occasion I didn't buy anything, but I will always go in there when at the swan centre or at the cinema or bowling alley nearby”
