“What a gorgeous little place! It was packed, but the staff did everything they could not to leave us standing and waiting for too long. The menu is nice and simple (less is more in a cafe!) Wonderful flavours and great drink choices. The tea was a bit of a let down, as pale as dish water even after being brewed in the pot for ages! But that wasn't a huge disaster and didn't take away from the fact that the food was delicious!”

“Was in the area for the weekend, had a sausage and egg sandwich 1 day and dined in and had a full English the second and was sadly closed (expected) on Sunday. Food sorted me right out and the service was good. No complaints other than wish I lived closer to make regular visits.”

“This is Bedder's Fish and Chips, Mad O' Rouke's Pie and Mash, Duran Duran, Ozzy and Toni are just some of the great Midlands collaborations. Well, throw in cycles and coffee at Gorilla Coffee Cafe! This brummie institution is a beautiful, bright spacious cafe that is finely tuned for the the road cyclist. If it's the start of your cycling adventure or you've got a thirst on after a heavy day in the saddle, get over here. The staff are lovely, the coffee is great, they even serve local ales. Just find a pew amongst the abundance of seats and rest your weary lycra.”

“Wow, crazy good dessert parlour! I came here many years ago when it was tiny but since me and my other half were in the area, though it was cheeky not pop in and have an ice cream. The place is huge and the staff are friendly. The service is crazy good and the ice cream, just wow! High quality ingredients with a really great price especially compared to many places in the UK currently. Recommend coming here at least once!”

“Friendly staff and very accommodating, let me eat in, when at the time it was take out only. Very clean inside with plenty of tables and an open kitchen, parking space outside Breakfast was great, everything included in the photo for a medium breakfast.”

“Arrived in this cafe as it was the first one as we got off the bus, with my nan and mother in law. And we were delighted with the service, Ami and Scott were very welcoming, they too pur order which was a well done bacon, yoke and mushroom on toast and my god it was beautiful!! All done as I requested, yes the toast can with butter on but I raised this to Ami and she changed it straight away and I even gained a free yoke!!! My nan ordered a small breakfast and for the price of £4 it's extremely worth it!! Everything was hot and cooked lovely. We asked for the egg hard and we received it!! My mother in law ordered jam on toast and she stated it was beautiful jam, and a huge benefit as you get to spread it your self and when we asked for more jam, it wasn't a problem and she received more jam! The cups of teas are beautiful!! You add your own milk so it's just your cup of tea!! People need to start giving people a chance!! Ami and Scott are every down to earth people and willing to help!! If you domt mention that you want things changing or something is wrong how are they ment to know that it's wrong or you want it changing!! They had no problem changing things that we requested!! And Ami stopped and had a chat with us and she is really nice and a genuine person! GIVE PEOPLE A CHANCE”

“We have been here for several times already, very good dinning experience! Tasty foods, excellent "stir-fried Chow Mein" and "fried rice". Traditional Hong Kong milk tea, Cappuccino with cream.....all with high standard. Last but not least, the restaurant staffs are polite, we appreciate and thanks for their hospitality!”

“Wow! What a gem on the Hagley Road! My partner and I had a late breakfast here on a Saturday, and what a joy it was. My partner ordered the Saganaki omelette and I ordered the Feta omelette. We also got two black americanos. The food arrived quickly, and was sublime. Both omelettes came with a lime wedge, a pickled pepper, raw onion, fresh mint, fresh basil and fresh flat leaf parsley. I greatly appreciated the herbs as I love them all, and I personally seasoned my omelette liberally with them. The omelettes also came with sesame flatbread, which we used to mop our plates clean! The coffees were great as well, with my only very minor note being that it would have been nice to have them in a glass with a handle, as they were too hot to handle for about 10 minutes. There is a single loo, which is accessible and well-maintained. Bonus points for a lovely sink basin. I'm including photos of the menu, which we were told has been recently updated. I think the prices are very reasonable for such good quality food. The cafe is decorated very nicely, and my only note about the general ambience was that the music was a very slight bit too loud for my taste. The staff were friendly and helpful, and created a friendly atmosphere. We will be back soon for a lunch and / or dinner - thank you Cafe Rumi!”
