“I was passing by and went for a coffee. Lovely little place with great views to the Downs. Doubles up as a post office and paper shop - obviously a great asset to the local community. Friendly service and great coffee.”
“Me and my partner popped in a little close to the 3 o’clock cut-off for food, but the service was exceptional and they looked after us so well. They went over and above to make our experience great, catering for my fish-like water drinking abilities and recognised my cluelessness in finding a toilet in record time without me asking. Seriously though, the staff made our afternoon :) The food was your classic brunch with a few little twists here and there. Both the dishes were tasty, with my only nitpick being that the garlic and herb beans were really just tomato ones. Otherwise, delicious! The coffees were decent too, and although there are some mega specialty places in Brighton that might pip it, it was a tasty brew! All in all it’s the perfect spot for a casual brunch or cafe for a chat. I do recommend”
“I love this place. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I like taking my coffee sitting outside. Actually I find its interior very inspiring and peaceful.”
“Staff were so so so lovely Coffee was delicious and really massive! Yummy cake, but be careful they are addictive ;)”
“Good coffee. Collect points on Costa App. Busy place but good service and plenty of tables and seats plus seating outside for smokers and summer months.”
“This cafe has had a super new refurb and their new menu and is delicious! They are also open in the evenings Thursday - Saturday in the summer which is great for a relaxed dinner in the park.”
“Coffees are great! Service is good, not sure why the other reviews slate it. Milk is foamed very well every time!”
“Lovely coffee ☕ I didn't try the food”
“We were delighted to find this great coffee shop during our visit to Brighton! The coffee, pastries, and sandwiches were fresh and flavorful but if you want a nutritious meal I suggest the owner’s homemade savory root vegetable soup! It was fabulous! The good size portion kept me fueled most of the day! Everyone was so friendly. The service was great! Our two times to eat there during our one week stay will be a standout memory from our time in Brighton!”
“Staff are always cheerful and friendly. They make excellent coffee and are very quick even when it's busy. It's easily one of my favorite costa locations.”
“My favourite Costa with nice outdoor place.”
“This Costa branch is located in the foyer of the Odeon cinema and has a great view of the waterfront. It was a rather gloomy, rainy and unwelcoming morning on August 22, 2024, but a coffee from the pleasant red-haired barista at Costa Coffee changed my day for the better. Thank you.”
“Good quality coffee and friendly service. Thank you”
“Great coffee..I can highly recommend the cheese, han and mustard toasties”
“Lovely coffee, delicious pastries and such lovely staff. Placed in a lovely sun spot ✨”
“Excellent customer service. Not as busy as other Starbucks but that's perfect for me. The staff are wonderful.”
“Had a hospital appointment so went into Costa for a cuppa .. nice friendly staff in there and they're pefectly willing to put 2 tea bags in for someone (like me) who prefers "builders" tea”
“It's a Starbucks, what else to say....! What I would say is that the size of a small coffee to have in is Huge!! The large must be a bucket!! **.. I NEED TO EDIT THIS!.. I was recently refused service by one individual at this establishment as he thought I was drunk. Not his fault but probably just lack of training. I suffer from anaemia, low HB, COPD & internal gastronomy issues. The medication I take can make me drowsy and on occasion present as appearing intoxicated. I DID collapse once whilst in the establishment and needed an ambulance which took me to A&E for emergency blood transfusions. This is something I live with and often attend RSCH for blood transfusions & Iron infusions. I guess all I would say is that it's not his fault; but perhaps some more training from Starbucks for their staff, on interpersonal relationships between customers and employees? Perhaps regarding looking for signs & behaviors of customers, and how to differentiate between different types of presentation & behaviour?...be it a clinical issue and/or a socially disruptive one. To be clear; he wasn't rude to me but merely acting on how I presented, and working within whatever Health & Safety training had been made available to him. No hard feelings or resentment; in fact I would like to come back...perhaps with one of my primary careers next time ?? (they'll buy more coffees!). Regards, Justin Colman. PS; Obviously no Stars for this particular visit but this is a fluid situation and subject to change ! ...I've since caught up with this individual and questioned him on this issue. He was polite & respectful when I confronted him.... There are ways to settle these things but unfortunately he chose to hide behind a woman, whose presence was his defence and I presume his superior. That's a dick-move and he obviously knew it... She was polite and respectful as per her position requires. In fact I liked them both really!... but perhaps he would be better suited in a position that required less interpersonal skills... Gonna give you your 5 star rating back (even though I'm "banned"...haha) Reason being that, as a whole, I can't condemn the cafe as it is... it's just one bad apple that needs removal... PS: I LOVE those caramel-latte things you serve with cream and all that jazz...”
“Convieniently located Starbucks across the road from Churchill Square. This one can get very busy, there was very few seats on the ground floor, but the upstairs has additional seating which (at the time) was very quiet, with only a few people in it. The tables were clean and each one has plug sockets and USBs which was nice. Staff are friendly. The toilets are located upstairs and didn't have a code, which were clean. Very positive experience :)”
“A beautiful experience! The whole set up is so dainty and precious, the room is small and intimate with some seating on the street too. The owner is attentive and welcoming, and provides excellent service. The food was delicious, and the perfect amount too. Highly recommend - this was a highlight of our trip!”
“While it may be a little more out of the way for some people it is 100% worth the trip! Some of the best coffee you will find, great service and dog friendly. Plus amazing latte art.”
“Really good coffee, better coffee price than all the other chain own coffee shops and the saff/owner really friendly and nice to have a chat if you feeling under the weather The only independent coffee shops in this area.”
“So glad I stopped here for lunch. Food is top quality home made and not expensive as you get big portions. Quiche was delicious and salads were really nice and tasty. Great value for money. I sat outside with a great view of sea. Very peaceful. Looking forward to my next visit.”
“Amazing food amazing host just amazing thank you for serving us breakfast for the last two mornings will definitely be back next year for our 1st wedding anniversary”
“Such a great place to eat! Unpretentious, tasty, freshly cooked food made and served by a fantastic staff. There are options for a variety of customers (personal favourites are the haloumi salad and the vegan breakfast). I can't imagine anyone not feeling welcome and well fed here.”
“great little brunch spot with fantastic food and good coffee. lots of options on the menu (including gluten free options on all the savoury brunches, plus the pancakes come gluten free as standard!). the staff were super helpful with allergies and were as careful as possible.”
“I really enjoyed my experience there! I love the historic building. The people who work three are friendly and polite. The seats are comfy. I've been meaning to visit for long time, and finally I did. And I'll certainly come back for more films to watch”
“Family business, locally sourced food. Classic place, with a little garden at the back, strong coffee and flavourful. Several all day breakfast options! Big portions (hash dishes could be shared if you are not so hungry!) It’s not in a busy area but the place can get really busy with locals, so that tells you all!”
