“Had a great night's sleep here on business. The staff at reception were polite and friendly. I was greeted by an Asian gentleman on arrival. He was very busy booking guests in, but still provided great customer service. The room was clean and tidy. The beefeater next door was fantastic for dinner and breakfast. Will be staying again.”

Customer service is outstanding ! Pool and jacuzzi are insane! Food is lovely cooked to perfection staff are so so friendly cleaners are On it all the time ! Best hotel in Cardiff by far ! “Best Chinese takeaway I've had. Every dish had so much flavour and so much meat. The Szechuan Pork was delicious and spicy, loved the hunan beef too. Excellent General Tso's Chicken as well as Beef flank soup with noodles. Couldn't fault any of it. Been working our way through the menu for years and not had a bad dish”

“Stylish, clean accommodation. Appreciated the room upgrade. Good facilities, great bathroom. Parking on street. Staff friendly, didn't eat, but cocktails in bar were well made and good value. However, for two night stay we only received £10 Gregg's voucher for breakfast. £2.50, not even sufficient for coffee and a roll. Please will the owners of the Bistro realise they could upgrade to a realistic value. Or maybe send customers to local cafes and thereby support local businesses. Maybe this could be reflected when booking i.e. an optional upgrade when booking online? Feel sure it would make the whole experience nearer the 100% I'm sure you all want and deserve.”

I have to commend staff they really know how to look after there customers.. spent lots of time with us explaining what was in dishes we didnt know about and were overall very friendly and helpful. We came back to Toby Carvery Cardiff Gate, and once again, we were absolutely delighted by the exceptional service—from Bron, her manager Ben, and her lovely colleague Caitlin. Bron continues to shine every time we visit. She’s so kind, attentive, and effortlessly warm with everyone she serves. Her ability to make every guest feel welcome and looked after is truly something special. It’s clear she puts her heart into what she does, and it makes a huge difference to the overall experience. We also want to highlight Ben, the manager, who sets a fantastic tone for the team. He’s approachable, supportive, and clearly leads by example. The atmosphere here is so positive and well-organized, and that kind of environment starts at the top. Caitlin was equally brilliant—friendly, upbeat, and always ready with a smile. She worked seamlessly alongside Bron and Ben, helping to create a genuinely warm and welcoming vibe even on a busy day. The food was as delicious and satisfying as ever—hearty portions, well-cooked roasts, and all the trimmings. But it’s truly the people at this location that make it stand out. The care, teamwork, and professionalism we saw today were absolutely top-notch. Thank you again to Bron, Ben, and Caitlin for another memorable visit. “Really conveniently located hotel for the centre of Cardiff, with lovely desk staff who were super friendly and helpful. The room was pretty good but needed a deeper clean. The bed was comfortable and had clean linen on it. There were sockets with an extra USB A port on both sides of the bed. The car park is of a decent size but did fill up by the late evening so I would recommend checking in earlier if you're driving here. The hotel was generally very quiet, with all doors having soft closing hinges - no slamming doors! Overall, I would recommend staying here and will come back here when we are next in Central Cardiff.”

“Had a fabulous 2 night stay at this hotel. After initial hiccup (2nd floor + no lift + bad chest) this was resolved immediately and was put in a much larger closer room on the 1st floor. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more accommodating from the front desk to the cleaners to the housekeeping staff. Not modern but that suited me nicely. Brilliant location and more than value for money.”

“My first ever visit to a TGI Friday and I was rather impressed. The staff were friendly and management came out to assist with a specific dietary concern with my guest. The food was hot and beautiful, we even met Darth Vader in the reception entrance to the restaurant. The dips are fantastic, the burger very juicy and super tasty. A definite 10/10 and look forward to returning. By the time we left the restaurant it was buzzing with nearly all tables full. A very popular restaurant in Cardiff. Many Thanks TGI Fridays even on a Monday night.”

“Tried Curry Hut last weekend with some Malayali friends, and we all agreed it’s the best place in Cardiff for South Indian style spice. The mutton curry reminded us of nadan curry from Kerala, rich with coconut and perfectly spiced. Their kottu roti is something different but still familiar, almost like Kerala beef fry with parotta mixed together. If you’re a Malayali missing proper heat and homely food, this place won’t disappoint. I've tried other places in Cardiff but by far this is the best Kerala food out there.”

“Giovanni’s on The Hayes is an absolute credit to itself. Absolutely wonderful and would highly recommend to anyone considering going to do so. Beautiful venue, the tables are laid very elegantly. All of the staff are beyond amazing, very attentive, friendly and charming. Food and drink service was lightning fast. We received a very warm welcome and goodbye from all of the staff. The food and cocktails were to die for. Couldn’t recommend more and my fiancee and I can’t wait to visit again :)”

“We booked an early check-in however our room wasn't ready due to people before checking out late, we were given complimentary hot drink and also breakfast due to late check in. Kim is an absolute treasure she couldn't do enough and was very apologetic as we were staying there for a bereavement. Would definitely stay there again as good service is rare. Thankyou again Kim”

“Everything in the apartment you need, staff who run it are exceptional! So very helpful currently in Zebulun suite which we have found a little small for a family of three, more suited to a lone visitor or couple, that said we will certainly be coming back we will just ensure we book a bigger suite, location is excellent, plenty of shops in easy walking distance, and as I said the staff could not be more helpful , exceptional service throughout”
