“We popped into Mum’s Comfort Food for breakfast and it was perfect! Delicious, hearty plates that tasted homemade and fresh. The staff were so friendly, fun, and helpful - they really made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. Such a great spot to start the day in Edinburgh!”

“We bring our dogs here offen for a doggy sausage and ice cream but this trip was going to be the last for Maddie our eldest dog who loves this place but sadly was booked in to be put to sleep (we wanted to take her to her favourite place beforehand) The staff were so kind and even brought out free ice cream for Maddie and ran after us to inform us they had returned the fee of the doggy sausage to my card which was such a lovely gesture which meant so much… In a weird (and wonderful) turn of events the vet who she was booked in to see noticed something different and the operation was cancelled and Maddie is back home! With us hopefully for many more months maybe even years who knows (shes 14) The staff’s gesture was so appreciated and I hope they see this message!”

“I honestly don’t write reviews much, but had to say something about Vinay at Starbucks. He’s just one of those people who makes your day better without even trying. Every time I come in, he’s super friendly and somehow remembers my order (even when I forget it myself lol). There’s always a good vibe when he’s around — like he actually enjoys talking to people, not just doing the job. The drink he made today was perfect, and he even took the time to ask how my day was going. Small things like that really stand out.”

“Took the wife for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed the poached eggs, smoked salmon and avocado on toast, I enjoyed mines that much I ended up having another (the wife taxed me for a bite) with our pastel de nata for after washed down with an excellent coffee. It's a free for all with the seating so recommend either trying to reserve table or getting there sharp.”

Close to everything. The coffee was very good. The homemade lemonade was excellent, really enjoyed that. My only negative is how expensive the place is. But if your anything like me the price won't bother you if the quality is right. And this place is definitely delivers. Highly recommend.”

“Love this store. My kind of shop - park on roof, nip down steps. The store is small enough to get round quickly and find what you want, yet large enough to have everything you want. Top quality food, albeit pricey, excellent fruit and veg. Staff are fine, could be a bit more smiley but ok.”

The menu is so versatile—there’s something for everyone, and everything we ordered was a hit. The mixed starters were a fantastic way to kick things off, and the cheese pasta penne was perfectly creamy and indulgent. The chips with cheese and curry sauce were an absolute highlight—so tasty and satisfying. Even the Caesar salad was spot-on, fresh, and flavourful. Bought a coffee while spending some chill time with my dogs, I went for my favorite—a flat white—and it did not disappoint. Super smooth, rich flavor, just the way I like it. It even gave me that perfect warm hug-in-a-cup feeling I needed after a busy day. The staff were friendly and quick with my order, which is always a plus when you’re on the go. The vibe in the shop was cozy enough to chill for a bit but also perfect for grabbing your coffee and heading out. I snagged a corner seat, next to the window with the sun gazing in the window, sipped my coffee, and people-watched for a while—honestly, not a bad way to pass the time. All in all, I’d give it a solid 5 stars. Great coffee, good service,….O and the free cake went down a treat… Thanks to the Costa staff”
