“An excellent place to eat. I had smoked haddock starter which had real smoke taste. Partner had starter scallops cooked to perfection. I had venison, exceptionally tender with raspberry sauce. The whole chilli in syrup was fiery and unusual, loved it. Partner had cooked perfectly hake. We drank a bottle of white, had desserts (not quite as good). Absolutely great place for a more special dinner, good value outstanding cooking.”
“Best lasagna I’ve ever had. Homemade noodles. From USA and this place in Scotland was amazing. Food came out piping hot which I love”
“Review is for the space menu, aperitif and surprise course for £35- For the price I highly recommend! It’s easy to spend £30-40 on dinner in downtown Edinburgh, so you might as well do it in style! It is not a Michelin experience, but they do a very good job at getting as close as possible for the price. Try to come with one of their special deals :) ambiance was great and felt very upscale. The servers were all very very friendly, the service was speedy, we got fun explanations for each wine pairing and each course. Wine pairings were great and good value, definitely recommend for £30. Overall so fun and many yummy dishes, and didn’t feel rushed. They really try to surprise and delight you. I read some recommendations which say the portions are too small, I disagree with this. I was very stuffed when the desert course came (in combo with wine pairings). Some more detailed review on food quality for the corporate head who decides the menus, guessing this has nothing to do with the chefs at this branch as the food looks exactly like the promos for their London branch and was executed technically very well: - Surprise course was soooo fun in concept but too much gel-ing agent was used (maybe agar?) a bit gummy and not enough flavor. Great presentation! - gorgeous oyster course, perfect! -terrine could have been thinner in my opinion but very fun and flavorful course - folks at my table loved the potato, sauce was great. Due to egg it wasn’t a stand out for me - risotto course was yum and wine paired well - flat iron for me was best savory course of the evening, every element was so delish! Truly impressive course. Perfectly cooked meat, sauces were varied and delish -dessert was hands down best course, soooo gorgeous, perfect wine, no notes. My only sadness was not having enough room to finish the whole thing”
“If you desire superb food and atmosphere, then this place to go but be sure to book a table. It's located in the city center not far from the Scott monument. From the first moment we felt welcome and the place has a nice and calm atmosphere. We celebrated our anniversary there and both of us had the wagyu steak for our main course. You can choose from several different side orders. All to your choosing. The steak was perfectly prepared to our liking. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and service minded. Truly a place to recommend.”
“I love establishments like this one. The ambiance, the waiters, the food. It is really comfortable being there and you know you are going to have a good meal. I had the fish soup which was tasty but not amazing. It had haddock and salmon in it. The fish pieces in the soup were a little chewy. I assume its because the soup is made in a big batch and kept warm during the entire service so the fish gets overcooked. It may be a good idea to add the fish last minute. The scallops were amazing. One of the best I have had. They were really fresh and sweet. The plate worked really well as a whole. My gf had the mussels so no comment on those. It was a shame that I had stomach problems and couldn’t eat much. I will definitely visit again to try lobster and langoustines.”
“Second time to this shop near Waverly station. We love their coffee and this time we came for a morning bite. Lovely place, people and coffee. Definitely a place to try if you haven't tried it yet.”
“We were looking for an Indian restaurant for a while now and finally found a great spot! Full of flavors. The service here is great special thanks to our server Akash! Would definitely come back again!”
“Absolutely lovely. Excellent people and excellent food! I had the mutton curry and then the chocolate sponge - both were actually fantastic. Would come here every day if I could!!”
“Lovely restaurant in a fantastic hotel. Our only meal here was breakfast and our full Scottish breakfast is excellent. Breakfast was also well done. In the evening the restaurant and bar are packed. This is obviously a place to go. Prices good. Attentive and professional staff.”
“Andy was so helpful! I’m a total know-nothing with any DIY, and he was super patient and knowledgeable helping me with some piping ( randomly needed for a bike). Thank you Andy!”
“Truly Indian! Request to the management: Whatever happens don't change the chefs! One of the finest and best restaurants offering Indian cuisine as exactly as India. The first bite itself will bring back life to the buried desi in you. I've tried so many Indian restaurant in Dublin and London but this is simply The Best! Ordered achari naan, garlic chili paneer, chicken tikka and mushroom rice. All three are wholesome and must try and amazed by the long list of options available for vegetarians! Price and reasonable and quantity are enough for a single person. Great ambience and super friendly staff members. You can enjoy a great meal along with vintage Bollywood songs playing in the background.”
““Really delicious food! I ordered the Drunken Noodles and Prawn Tempura — both were excellent, fresh, and high quality.”
“5 stars all around. Lovely restaurant inside. The lady was so very friendly and kind, and the food was delicious and came quickly. Very good prices. Two very happy customers!”
“A surprisingly enjoyable experience. Apart from more frozen food than you could shake a cat at, there is also fruit and vegetables. I spoke with two members of staff. Nothing was too much bother for them. Don’t be fooled into thinking everything is cheap. Check out their prices with the competition.”
“Large selection of different products, friendly and helpful staff.”
“We and my partner always come here. The food is great and they often bring you a lovely soup even before you’ve ordered! It’s also very cheap!”
“I’ve heard that this restaurant was good so many times I just had to go. The wife and I were not disappointed. Atmosphere was brilliant. Staff were friendly, attentive, well mannered and noticeably clean. Every time front of house staff went in the kitchen they washed their hands. So nice to see. Food took some time but only because they were fully booked & it was a Saturday, plus they are a busy takeaway. No wonder why there then. The food looked great, presented well, and delicious too. Lady owner & lady head chef says a lots for this genre of establishment, from my own experience, having eaten all over the uk & Europe in a multitude of different cultures. 5 stars from the wife & I, we will definitely be returning. Thank you very much to all the staff for a wonderful evening, just perfect…!”
“These guys are my go to comfort food place. Everything ive tried from this place has blown me away every time. For your first time, get the Pork Gyros Merides box, the meat is amazing, it isnt some cheap doner meat. The Tzatziki is great, the veg is fresh, the pitta is moreish and the fries are crispy. Normally I find takeaway places that start out great with food made with love tend to fall off after a few months. Not these guys, this food is made with love every single time. Oh also, their pork souvlaki is so tender and beautifully spiced.”
“Always good meat, fresh and good value for money, never been that constant for buying meat from shop, but now just this shop I trust for meat,”
“This bread meets bread is in a good location, Fort Kinnaird. They had many available seats. Inside the restaurant is very nice and looks fancy. We had a classic burger and a BMB posh burger. They were so delicious and juicy, especially the BMB posh one. It was probably the best burger I had in a while. The chips were good. The coleslaw didn't look creamy, but it was tasty. Our waiter was a very nice young girl.”
“We were gifted a voucher for Dinner Bed &Breakfast as we decided to stay Sunday to Monday we opted for Sunday late lunch and the Bed & Breakfast. From when we arrived we had a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, we were given all the information details. The room was very clean with everything needed for our stay . We had a 3 course lunch which was excellent and the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. As it was an anniversary we had complementary Champagne, the service was exceptional with at least 3 different staff attending us nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the meal we were given a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate with Turkish delight and chocolates very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and again excellent service would like to thank Kirsty and all the staff we will definitely come back. Ann and Andy Brown”
“Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the city, but not too busy of a spot, so no loud noises waking you up. Rooms are very comfortable, bed was soft and cushioned but supportive, very comfortable. We had room service the first night since we got in kind of late. Food was pretty good. Would stay here again and highly recommend the hotel.”
“Always good service, with a smile as well. Selection is always good with good pricing. We shop here for home and business often.”
“My partner Mic and I absolutely loved this little cafe. It’s got the best food and the couple that run it are so lovely and welcoming you feel like your locals and friends the second you enter the shop. If you’re staying in the South Bridfe area, definitely stop in for a coffee or a delectable croissant, or even just a friendly chat with the owners.”
“I watched Beetlejuice and I was impressed. Not just by the film. The cinema is very posh and beautiful and the staff couldn't be more helpful . I also liked the selection of snacks and drinks. The seats were very comfortable and there was the possibility to lift up your legs. The restrooms were spotless . All in all it was a luxurious experience, especially given it's location.”
“As a New Yorker with high pizza standards (and a serious slice craving), Franco Manca in Stockbridge absolutely delivered. The pizza was delicious—perfectly balanced, flavorful, and honestly lacking nothing. The crust had that ideal chew, the ingredients were fresh, and every bite felt intentional. Service was excellent as well: friendly, efficient, and welcoming without being overbearing. This has officially become my go-to pizza spot whenever I’m visiting Edinburgh. If you’re looking for a slice that passes the New York test, this is it.”
“Lovely lunch with friends. Food was amazing and staff couldn't be any nicer. Thank you!”
“i cant fault the food, which smelled divine and drew me towards this stall . the reviews about the staff being very friendly and helpful are true - a nice spot”
“The food was amazing. The curry's were flavourful and a great recommendation. The brownie was soft and so rich, a perfect end to the night. Will definitely go back.”
“It's cute little restaurant. Great wine, yummy food & quick and happy service. Everything we ordered was delicious.”
