“Excellent food & service for our annual Christmas night out. Cannot recommend enough! thank you!!”
“I went there to watch the football match Spain-Scotland. The atmosphere was simply wonderful, the waiting service friendly and careful. The beer was great. In the evening there is not an extended choice of food, this is maybe the only little issue, but there's plenty of stuff to drink. Just perfect. Cannot reccomend it more.”
“I used to come here years ago when I lived in Edinburgh, and am delighted that the quality hasn't declined at all. The food is a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of ingredients and cooking. The restaurant is a beautiful place to be, and the service was attentive. One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh.”
“Lovely little cozy restaurant, serves appetizing Venezuelan dishes! I believe it is family run, so the dishes have a homely taste. Overall budget friendly and worth a try!”
“Used to love Toro Latino before it refurbished into the current form. Staff told me it’s still the same owner but Seafood-themed instead of beef. Chicken espetada is as delicious as it used to be, goat cheese & mushroom croquettes are incredibly complex in flavor, will definitely visit again!”
“The staff is just AMAZING. You can really feel their hospitality. Always polite and smiling The food is astonishing. Their shared plate with chicken was the best, the freshest chicken i v had in several years. The same goes for their homemade hummus. Exceptional. It is a must - visit”
“Great beer & spirit selection, food was fantastic and hot. Great place to visit for lunchtime food”
“Great little Scottish pub. Wife and I were there a couple years ago while staying in South Queensferry on a trip to the Open when it was at St. Andrews. Came back on another trip to Edinburgh with more of the family this summer and it was the one place that was already circled when we came back to Scotland from the States. The locals are fun to hang with, the staff is super friendly and the meat pies were the best I've had in two trips to Scotland. The one thing I'd like to point out and give a HUGE thanks for is that we made a reservation for dinner several months in advance and the day and time we reserved was actually a time the kitchen was closed. They actually brought in extra staff to open the kitchen just for us and honored the reservation when they could have easily reached out later and said no. If around the Edinburgh area I'd absolutely recommend stopping here for a pint and some food. The little harbor is just a short walk away and views of the three bridges is worth it. If driving, parking can be tricky but there's a free lot on Rose Ln. - turn in between the pizza shop and Priory church and head towards the Firth.”
“Couldn't have been better if we'd tried! What an absolute gem of a restaurant. The food. The foooooooood! It was *chef's kiss*. Literally. The serving staff were delightfully charming, and the atmosphere is simply perfect. I could see myself hiding down there on a cold winter's night. Do yourself a favour and get the haggis starter. You won't find better haggis anywhere, I can promise you that. It was just perfection. Slightly peppery, topped with a sauce of happiness. You can't go wrong. And the filet was divine. It comes with the best fried potato I've ever had. Full stop. Just get in here and enjoy. Oh and get the paloma. It's decadent but light and refreshing all at the same time.”
“Mrs. A & I stumbled upon this AMAZING property while looking for a place to eat on our last night in Edinburgh. It reminded us so much of our go to Italian restaurant here, across the pond. The place was PACKED with locals, which to us is always a very good sign. We believe it to be a family run restaurant & they treat you like family !! A MUST (& it is NOT often that I give the FULL FIVE !!) Grazie - SPA007”
“Milly, really appreciate and enjoyed your service!!! Excellent choices of whiskey and great choices of veggie burgers. Thank you all for an amazing experience!! Milly, it was great seeing how you served everyone with smile. Very quality food specially vegetarian burger. Thank you team. Definitely a place for everyone to try!!”
“Great Burger I had their signature fox burger. Guy working there said it's the least ordered on the menu but I can't understand why because it was amazing. Highly recommend! Plenty of good pints on draught too”
“Most lists have this as the place to go for a top notch whisky selection and I see why. Wonderfully designed flights to provide whatever variety you want. Couple this with 391 more you could try off the self and you’ll need to have an exit plan and a way to get home. The flights give very generous pours. It’s worth it to share the flight. I loved my tour of Scotland and the help the staff gave with the journey was invaluable. The food was borderline boutique but plentiful and very good. Sitting outside provides a nice feel for people watching and the inside is a great slice of history. A must stop.”
“This is a hidden gem! We were directed to all of the normal tourist spots for dinner but decided to check it out online. We stayed at a hotel close by and happened to see this place on the map. The online menu and reviews prompted us here and I speak for my whole family when I say we were not disappointed. The portions were a little small but their qualities more than made up for it. The unique combinations of ingredients was exciting and irresistible. Every bite was a delight and discovery of the intricacies of the dish. Well done to the chef! Also, the plating was a feast for the eyes and I have to admit that I left feeling quite full.”
“Very good restaurant. Highly recommend it .Lovely staff and fresh food .”
“A lovely cosy pub with a good atmosphere. Delicious food well prepared.”
“Really good food and a nice selection of drinks”
“What a hidden gem! Fantastic location amazing service and beautiful food. We stopped here with no reservation and had a table for seven made immediately available for breakfast. The food was fantastic, looking out over the river and Misty bridge was just perfect”
“We arrived at the torfin earlier than expected and the owner lindsey was so accommodating, the check in was smooth and seamless. The room is very stylish and cozy, but the best part was the soothing, most relaxing and roomy rainfall shower!! We ate dinner at the restaurant here, the croquettes and corn ribs are to die for we ordered 3 rounds. The fish and chips and pan seared sea bass was delicious! Katie our server made sure to check on us and provided great service! Delicious food, friendly staff, totally recommend!”
“My brother and I go for lunch a few times a year when I'm home visiting. Its strength is it consistency. Food always good, tasty, hot. Service always courteous, place always clean. Big recommendation for all of their haggis dishes, including the chicken and haggis lasagne.”
“Nice cozy place perfect for some delicious sushi or classic Japanese food! The staff is very friendly and attentive, the food takes its time to arrive (as it should be) but it's worth the wait! Full of taste, nice presentation topped up with some great prices! One spot to visit if you're around the area!”
“Visited for a few drinks while having a mini break in Edinburgh. Managed to get a window seat and looking onto Princess Street. Warm, comfortable and inviting environment. Staff were attentive and friendly. Cocktails were lush. Initially only wanted a couple of drinks but ended up ordering the three small plates from the menu, I am so glad we did! They were all yummy! The beef Wellington tacos were amazing! Will definitely return on our next visit to Edinburgh”
“Honestly my favourite place in Leith. The new owners turned it round without removing everything that made it great. They did what few dare to do - keep it authentic. Everyone I know who embodies the best aspects of Leith loves this place.. It feels like yer best mate’s living room. When quiet, it’s idyllic, when jumpin it speaks for itself. Never look down on the boundary bar… I dare say you might once again fall in love.”
“Food was extra great. All cooked fresh on the spot. Clean, fresh and no processed ingredients. Tasty modern Lebanese/Mediterranean dishes. No halal meat or chicken. The dishes are actually small so you'd know, not for hungry nights, but delicious. A sumptuous atmosphere, worth it.”
“Great spot. We loved the history. The food was delicious. I had the garlic chicken schnitzel and it was great.”
“Great pub food in the Newington area. Worth stopping by for a bite to eat if your in the area. Good selection of beers and friendly staff.”
“We went to the restaurant upstairs and the food was excellent. We got the meat pies and the mash. If you haven't had a Carachan dessert yet, I highly recommend you save room to try it. We have been told that the dish is just as traditional as haggis, and we really enjoyed it. The establishment itself was pretty busy, so we had to wait for about 45-50 minutes before the three of us were seated. However, the wait didn't feel too long because we were able to hang out downstairs and have a couple beers.”
“Fanatic wetherspoons (one of the best I've been in) two lovely upper balcony's with plenty seating areas, looking over the old stage. Great selection of drinks, including local ales Fast friendly service from the staff and the food is pretty decent for a spoons and also if your on a bit of a budget”
“Easy to find and easy to get to. Less than a 5 minute walk from Waverly train station. The food was excellent quality and well priced based on the quality, quantity and obviously location. 2nd time visiting and would 100% visit again.”
“We went for a tasting menu prepared by chefs Bart and Pawel, everything was absolutely delicious. First time having rabbit pie and pidgeon, really enjoyed both. The chefs were more than happy to accommodate dietary restrictions also. The service was great and all staff very friendly. We will definitely be back!”
