“Amazing place and location. Right at the center of public transportation.”
“Hold your horses, guys! You are going to read the most extensive review of St. Christopher Inn today. 1. Location: The location is perfect for tours. Everything is walkable. If you are arriving from the Airport, the final bus station is just 400m away from the hostel. 2. Accommodation: Clean Linen with Blankets provided. There is a cage beneath your bed to store luggage. Remember to bring your padlock if you want to secure it. Padlock can also be purchased from the reception. 3. Showers and Toilets: Separate section outside the dorms. Regularly cleaned. Free shower Gel provided at the reception. Towels are not provided but can be rented. 4. Food: Breakfast can be purchased for 6 GBP. Served at Belushi's. Belushi's also offer 25% discount on food if you are staying at the hostel. 5. Kitchen and Luggage: There is a Chill-out cum Waiting room with a small kitchenette. You will find a Kettle, Fridge and Microwave there with some utensils. You can't cook but Ready to eat meals can be heated. Lockers can be rented to store luggage. 6 GBP per day for the large locker. 6. Water: Water dispenser available at the reception. However, Tap water is topnotch also. Things to note: 1. They have two buildings with reception only in one. For anything, you might have to go to the reception across the road. 2. Chill out room is crammed and not a great place to socialize with other guests. 3. Although there was a mention of Events, there was no notice board to display the events. 4. The staff is friendly and they are super helpful if you need anything. Overall a great hostel and definitely recommended to other guests”
“It was a great location, within 10 minute walk of either attractions or the bus but set back so not particularly noisy. It was clean, beds were comfy, plenty of hot water, shower was powerful. Kitchenette was brilliant as we could self cater, we didn't realise there was a washer/dryer in there too (also wash powder there) . We could have done with a few extra pieces of kitchen equipment and softer pillows but they are minor gripes. We will definitely be staying again.”
“If you're looking for the Ritz, go stay at the Ritz and pay for the Ritz. I stay at hotels all the time for work and this Holiday Inn is one of the nicest Holiday Inns I have stayed at. Our room was comfortable and updated. The bathroom is small but expected for being in Europe. It was clean and completely acceptable. The lobby area is updated and welcoming. The fitness room is great with all the equipment needed for a decent workout. The breakfast is wonderful and worth the extra we paid for it. I read reviews that the restaurant food is great and that is accurate. Whoever is running that restaurant and making the food is doing a great job. The food is excellent! The pool and hot tub are ok but better than not having anything. The bus stop is right outside and takes you into town in about 20 minutes.....so convenient. A family day pass is 12£ (2 adults, 3 children). If you want a nice place to stay with good food but you don't want to pay the prices of being downtown, this is the place for you.”
“Fantastic stay! The airport bus (100) which stopped right next to the hotel was soooo appreciated when trying to manage bags and tired children. When we arrived the staff were kind and helpful. Our children especially enjoyed the warm pool and great breakfast. The tasty IPA beer was appreciated by us!”
“I've stayed in many a travelodge around the club and im always happy with the service. This one was no exception, staff were friendly and helpful in every way. Comfortable bed ,clean and fresh room, shower was ok , bathroom was spotless. Tea and coffee was provided, just what you need after a journey. Parking was ok for quite a busy place. Starbucks next door is very handy. I will stay at this travelodge again.”
“The room was very spacious and plenty big enough for the three of us. It was clean and the beds were super comfy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel most welcome. The location of this hotel is so central, both for the railway station, the Royal Mile and a multitude of bus stops and nearby tram stop for travelling further afield. There is no cooked breakfast served here but there are so many cafes nearby it's not really necessary.”
“The hotel was quaint and loved the decor. The beds were comfy, and plenty of towels were provided. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating to our needs. The location is a 5 minute walk from Haymarket Train and Tram station. We easily walked everywhere. Everything was just as described. There is no lift, and all communication clearly states there is no lift. The hotel sends several messages stating this and advises if a lower floor room is needed to contact them directly if one is available. The hotel met both our budget and travel needs. We did have an issue with the hot water, HOWEVER, after letting the front desk person know they fixed it while we were out the same day.”
“A very calm and clean place with friendly staff. The room was bright and tidy, equipped with a hairdryer, iron, and a kettle with coffee and tea. Highly recommended.”
“We recently stayed here for the weekend and the hotel was perfect! Clean and well set out. The service was amazing nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. Would definitely go back and stay again”
“This place is an absolutely amazing wee find, (take road to mansion) and cheaper than a normal campsite. Pods are clean and really cunfy, some even come with picnic benches and barbecues! Such a beautiful space and so quiet, the set up for campfire is well thought out surrounded by benches all round & there is a even a store with free firewood. Owner has volenteers working on the area so can only imagine it will get better and more beautiful in time if that's even possible. One I'll be going back too again and again.”
“For a 3* hotel we found this over & above our expectations. On arrival we were greeted by very pleasant and helpful staff. Underground car parking available at £15 which is ideal. Room was lovely & clean & warm, nice bathroom/shower. Breakfast was really good. Only 15 minute walk to Princes St etc. Well impressed.”
“Stayed in a private room which honestly was great. Reception very helpful when I arrived very early. The room was good and bed was comfy. Bathroom was good. Yes lots of noise from the alleyway outside but just wear ear plugs. Couldn't get much better for a location. And the price couldn't get much better at this time of year. Thanks!”
“The plan was simple: find a budget hotel close to Edinburgh Airport — and it worked perfectly. The hotel met our expectations. The room was small but clean and functional, with a shower cabin and toilet. The mattress was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bistro on the ground floor where you can have a drink, eat something, or buy takeaway food. Paid parking is available (a few pounds). The hotel is only about 8 minutes by car from the airport, which allowed us to catch our early morning flight without any issues and saved us a late-night trip to the airport. We will definitely use this hotel again if we need a convenient place to stay near the airport.”
“Thank you for all this great service. We went only one night and it was enough to see how kind and welcoming are the employees. Great room and great breakfast ! It was a nice way to begin our journey in Edimburgh”
“I really liked staying here on my trip. Everything I wanted to see was walking distance. The rooms was nice and clean and I liked that each bed had curtains and own light. I was staying in a 18 people room, and everyone was nice and respectful. Living on the fourth floor I was thankful for the elevator, as the walking in Edinburgh had my legs feeling very tired when I got home in the evening. The staff was so sweet and helpful, whenever I had questions. :)”
“Great budget hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely clean room, likewise the bed and shower room. Great bottomless breakfast. Glad we stayed. Would definitely stay again. Staff help give the whole weekend a great vibe. The city is bustling, with exceptional shopping, fantastic pubs and restaurants. Staying here right in the centre of it all, is a must.”
“Great location, convenience store right in front, close to bus stop. 25-ish minute walk from station.”
“Great hospitality. They allowed us before the checkin time as the rooms werent occupied. At the day of check out, they were very kind enough to store our luggages with them as we headed to sight seeing and we had evening train. The rooms were clean and the products give were neat and clean. Keep up the great job..”
“My wife and I stayed at the end of June. Both Pride and the Royal Highland Show were ongoing at the time, making Edinburgh super busy, so staying here was a fantastic choice. As the hotel is on Princess Street, we were in the perfect spot for pretty much anything we wanted to do. We were within walking distance of everything and had a fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle from our room. All of the staff were very polite, friendly, and welcoming. This was consistent from the moment we checked in, throughout every breakfast, until the moment we checked out. The newly renovated rooms are excellent. The bed was comfortable, the TV was modern and easy to use, and the bathroom/shower was really clean. We're definitely going to be staying again, and can't recommend it enough. It was our first time in Edinburgh, and having such a great, well-located, and friendly place to come back to made the trip what it was. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff who made us feel at home during our stay!”
“Perfect low budget hostel! We had a private family room. Rooms are clean, staff is really friendly, the bar downstairs is always alive and a great place to have a drink and meet people. Location is also perfect, everything is in walking distance! We didn’t book the breakfast but from what I saw there was plenty of choice.”
“Visited on a voucher deal B & B with a cocktail. Yes the room was a bit dated but it was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The "cocktail" was any drink from the bar, breakfast was excellent everything individually wrapped or served by the chef. Special mention to all the staff who were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. For the price we paid we had a fabulous stay - drinks in the bar are very reasonable so worth giving them a bit of extra income from your stay especially if you get as good a deal as we did. It's also 2 minutes from the station/tram stop/bus routes so excellent for a short break.”
“We enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights. Staff is very helpful, rooms are very spacious. The kitchen is very well equipped. They also offer free luggage storage service.”
“Only stayed one night but it is a lovely family run hotel. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. We were able to leave our bags prior to check in and also departure. The location was excellent for getting to lots of famous spots. We didn’t have the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Rooms are a little dated in decor but clean and have everything you need.”
“Was warmly welcomed by Tracey on reception who was most helpful. Room was much better than expected for a 3 star hotel, very clean and fresh, decent shower, and fluffy towels. The bed was quite comfortable, could've used an extra pillow, but that's just my preference. Onsite restaurant ,Oscars, had a good choice to suit most palates, I particularly enjoyed the steak pie. Overall, a very nice stay, and I would stay there again in future.”
“Great location for a great price. Very conveniently close to a lot of monuments - can walk to a lot of shops, cafes, restaurants and sights within 20min. Yes, the sound proofing could be a bit better, but I've noticed that it's a common flaw in most Scottish buildings. We were a party of 4 and the apartment we stayed at was very accommodating. Didn't interact with any staff but it was easy to move around and check in/out on your own. Yes, the elevator can only hold two people w/ two bags, but what do you expect with smaller/older apartments. The macerator feature was interesting but we understand the usage, though yes, the sound can be surprising (especially for people new to it). Overall, a solid stay - would stay at again!”
“Great wee hotel! Clean, cozy, and well looked after. Friendly folk and handy parking. Perfect stop for a night or two near Edinburgh we’ll be back for sure! Don’t get the bad reviews — great value.”
