“Our stay at Ceilidh-Donia was wonderful! The staff were very kind and helpful, always ready to give advice and with a smile. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and the room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The area is quiet and pleasant, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. There is a very good bus connection to the Royal Mile (about 15 minutes), and if you prefer walking, it’s around 30–40 minutes on foot. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a stay in Edinburgh!”

“Words can’t describe how wonderful this artsy boutique style hotel is! Just returned home after spending five fabulous nights at this beautiful gem of a hotel. Nothing has been overlooked, from the decor, design, furnishings, artwork - and on top if it all, a lovely whisky tasting bar/lounge that was truly elegant. The staff was extremely attentive and made sure that everything was perfect for us from the moment we arrived until our departure (inclusive of booking taxis and making hotel reservations). Will definitely be booking another stay at 24 Royal Terrace if given the opportunity to visit Edinburgh again.”

“Beautiful rooms, well located and a beautiful part of Edinburgh. Lovely selection of complementary products. Comfortable bed and a great shower with excellent pressure which I feel some hotels lack. I had forgot to take my earings which I’d left on the dressing table. I contacted the hotel and Amy delt with my enquiry. She was extremely helpful and was quick to reply to my query. My earing have been returned very promptly of which I am thankful for as they have sentimental value. Thanks again Amy.”

“One of my favorite hotels I've stayed at! The room was so cozy and clean and I loved the privacy doors on the room and sliding wooden door for the window. The free mini bar was a nice touch as well as the champagne upon arrival, slippers and robes :) Only "downside" was that I wanted to stay in the room & relax instead of exploring. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even after checkout they stored our bags for the day while we were in the city. Highly recommend.”

“Had a lovely stay here, was a little concerned about plane noise, but didn't have any disturbance at all. The spa was very nice, and breakfast was good as well, and friendly staff throughout. The Christmas decorations really added to the vibe as well!”

“Our wedding reception dinner at The Bonham was splendid. The staff were exceptionally helpful and worked with us beforehand to make sure everything went perfectly. The dinner itself was quite possibly the finest we’ve experienced. The food was delicious, and the service was seamless. Cannot recommend enough, and we will be returning if we’re ever in Edinburgh again.”

“We had the perfect stay. On arrival our room was ready early and we had been upgraded. Every member of staff we met were welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is clean and comfortable. They have everything you need for your stay. Tea/ coffee tray, decent hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Location is perfect for all tourist attractions. Perfect hotel and we had a perfect stay. We can’t thank the staff enough for making our stay so nice.”

“You must stay at this hotel! Not only is the location absolutely perfect, the room is so smartly designed and the beds were so comfortable. The decor was absolutely fantastic as well. Despite its location, the hotel was very quiet. The staff were super wonderful and helpful, and gave us great recommendations for food and drink along with some fun history about Edinburgh (a special shout-out to Martin). “This place is an absolute gem! I recently booked a couple of nights at Garvock house very last minute whilst driving to the west of Scotland to visit family. Decided to break up the journey and so glad that I chose here! The hotel grounds and garden are beautiful and such a lovely, peaceful area to relax in. The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and the staff were all excellent. I completely fell in love with this place and already looking to rebook for a few more days later in the year :)”

“We came for Sunday lunch. The food was very good. The service was discrete and there when you needed it. We're there tiny niggles, of course, the potatoes served with my roast beef were not Roux standard, the asparagus risotto was a bit tight and lacked a bit of zing. The vegetarian courses lacked protein. But these are tiny things in a tapestry of happiness, from the entry, to the coffee, to the pics in the lovely garden it was a day's life in a country mansion and we left very pleased. We loved the lounge with the books and fire and could happily have stayed forever.”

“Lovely restaurant in a fantastic hotel. Our only meal here was breakfast and our full Scottish breakfast is excellent. Breakfast was also well done. In the evening the restaurant and bar are packed. This is obviously a place to go. Prices good. Attentive and professional staff.”

“We were gifted a voucher for Dinner Bed &Breakfast as we decided to stay Sunday to Monday we opted for Sunday late lunch and the Bed & Breakfast. From when we arrived we had a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, we were given all the information details. The room was very clean with everything needed for our stay . We had a 3 course lunch which was excellent and the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. As it was an anniversary we had complementary Champagne, the service was exceptional with at least 3 different staff attending us nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the meal we were given a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate with Turkish delight and chocolates very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and again excellent service would like to thank Kirsty and all the staff we will definitely come back. Ann and Andy Brown”

“I didn't stay at the hotel but visited the bistro for food. The mussels are incredible, fresh, full of flavour and the bread on the side was epic. The family had various other items and thoroughly enjoyed theirs. Will 100% be back when next in town.”

“Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the city, but not too busy of a spot, so no loud noises waking you up. Rooms are very comfortable, bed was soft and cushioned but supportive, very comfortable. We had room service the first night since we got in kind of late. Food was pretty good. “was not a guest at the hotel but came by for dinner at the court, and was perhaps the best meal of my whole time in edinburgh. the staff were all lovely and attentive, without being overbearing. we had the tasting menu, and the food was all so delicious, the wine pairings absolutely perfect. will definitely be back to try the signature dishes. i would recommend highly to stop by on any visit or special occasion, the space is exceptional and the service was top notch. a special shoutout to elena too for taking care of us all night and making our evening so wonderful, she was exceptional all night making all the right touches that gave for the most wonderful time. thank you all, look forward to visiting again soon!”

“This is the second time I have stayed here. This visit however, was nicer. I was met with very friendly staff as always upon checking in. We were then told that we had been selected for a free upgrade to a suite and was given free parking as well as a welcome drink each and some lovely shortbread for our room. This was such a lovely surprise and made our trip even more special. The hotel is always lovely and clean, not to mention very handy for the tram. I will most definitely come back here. The staff are an asset to the place. You are made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommend this hotel.”

“Stayed the night as a guest for a wedding that took place at the castle. Gorgeous venue with plenty of history. Spent the evening chatting with other wedding guests in the library bar which was cozy and beautiful. In the morning we went for a stroll out on the grounds which we really enjoyed. Had fun observing the ponies who were grazing in the paddock. Staff were overall very nice. Lovely stay.”
