“These guys couldn't be more welcoming and accommodating. I eneded up needing to find a very last minute venue for a friends wake and thank god I turned to these guys. They were incredibly compassionate and really went the extra mile for us. The staff are so sweet and work so hard. The venue is cozy and clean and the overall vibe is just really really pleasant. 10/10. Cannot recommend enough.”

From the planning stages to the actual event, Fran was extremely helpful and flexible when some of our arrangements had to be changed.There were a large number of us and we were all very impressed with friendly, welcoming approach, great food and the excellent service. “Mairead and Abbie are absolute stars — genuinely brilliant every time. You’re greeted with big smiles, proper service, and that friendly buzz that makes you feel right at home. Drinks come quick, food’s always spot on, and they somehow manage to keep the place running like clockwork even when it’s heaving. Only gripe? The early closing time. Just when you’re settling in for a proper evening, it’s time to pack up. Bit of a shame really, because with staff like that, you could happily stay all night. Still, credit where it’s due — great team, great vibe, and two of the best behind the bar. John legend in the kitchen.”

“Stopped by for some dinner before the theatre, not been in a long time and was pleased we went. Food was excellent, cocktails on point. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Atmosphere was cosy and warm.”

“Excellent seaood, the crab fritters were divine, the seafood stew packed with well cooked ingredients, the calamari meltingly soft in crispy coating and the crab on sourdough were all totally delicious. The steak and burgers went down a treat too. Super friendly staff gave us excellent service. We had a great time and hope to be back soon.”

“Had a voucher for Spanish afternoon tea here and it seriously did not disappoint!! So quirky, the food was very tasty and true to spanish culture. Noticed some of the other dishes coming out from the kitchen and it looked amazing. Will definitely be back to try the tapas! Service was great, friendly and attentive. Tried the Cubatas cocktail (vodka, passionfruit liqueur, cranberry, grenadine etc) - sweet and tasty! We went on a Sunday which had plenty free parking on the road outside.”

“My colleague and I stopped to get some food here before our flight. I ordered the half chicken with the habernaro sauce (very hot) and my colleague had the fish and chips. We were served by Abbie who was very gracious and attentive. She made sure our meals came out quickly, checked whether the spice level was okay for me, and had a warm, positive attitude that really stood out.”

“The Crown Bar was an absolute lifesaver. On 27/10/2023 we had booked the Ferguslie Bowling Club for a wedding party of 30 only to show up to find they had been double booked. However the Crown Bar, after a quick phone call advised they had a separate bar as a function room that could fit up to 45. No deposit required and they moved mountains to accommodate us at a moment's notice. The staff were wonderful and the space was lovely, we were allowed to decorate and use the existing lights and utilise the sound system if needed. Cheap drinks, a vast selection as well and they even suggested we could order food in if we wanted to. Staff and venue were fantastic cannot praise them enough for saving the day. Especially last minute on a Friday night for a group of 30.”

“The Balnagowan Arms is a great bar/lounge, owners are so welcoming. They have darts n karaoke. It's always busy. On Neilston Road. Honestly go in n you will be felt very welcome. Enjoy one n all.”

“I stayed at The Abbey Inn 17/5:/25 and it was a very hot day so sat in the busy outside area and had a great afternoon whilst my room was being prepped I was out our that I couldn't get in till 3pm however as it was so lovely I had a couple of drinks and got chatting to a nice couple. It was extremely busy and I have to highly praise the fantastic staff and kitchen staff as I saw food was flying out and it looked fantastic. The atmosphere was great and the staff worked so hard. Onto the room now as I was on my own it was a single bed and though the room was small it had everything it was beautifully decorated and a fantastic large TV. Although it was very hot the room was lovely and cool and I used the fan provided which was great.. The bed was awesome just so comfortable and the bed linen just spectacular and pillows Lovely soft carpet and great tea and coffee facilities and a thing lacking in many top hotels Plenty of mirrors ladies!!! also immaculate bathroom and a great shower. I would recommend everything in the Abbey I loved it very much. Thanks so much x”

“Husband ordered burger, no burger left 7pm on a Saturday night, bit disappointed however, he had chicken burger instead, I had chicken fajitas, we had pulled pork loaded fries, brownie&ice cream for desert, omg all amazing, we were served by Ben, i think, who was attentive without being intrusive, polite and an asset to the mucky duck, great example of customer service. Food was best I've had in a long time and very reasonably priced”

“Smashing pub. Although they had us booked for the following week...we were there for a 'Wake'!! Nonetheless they came up trumps. Super bowl of soup, followed by plates of mixed sandwiches on each table, then a mixture of cakes , also on each table. Followed by tea n coffee. Thank you all staff for a lovely afternoon .”

“This place has been given a fantastic make over. Great service and very reasonable prices. I had the beef burger with haggis and my husband and friend had the chicken burger and the chicken fajitas, all very tasty and fresh. £6 for a strawberry daiquiri is roughly the same as Glasgow prices but they were delicious. Will definitely need to go back and fully recommend.”
