“Popped in here for a quick lunch between Christmas and New Year, there was only another couple of tables in so was quiet but still a nice atmosphere all the same with some music on. We ordered a chicken and bacon mayo baked potato, loaded hunters fries and mac and cheese. The food was lovely, arrived piping hot and they certainly didn't skimp on the toppings & Cheese. The prices are great for what you get as well, for those 3 items we were £22 and left absolutely stuff. Will defo be back!”

From the planning stages to the actual event, Fran was extremely helpful and flexible when some of our arrangements had to be changed.There were a large number of us and we were all very impressed with friendly, welcoming approach, great food and the excellent service. “Mairead and Abbie are absolute stars — genuinely brilliant every time. You’re greeted with big smiles, proper service, and that friendly buzz that makes you feel right at home. Drinks come quick, food’s always spot on, and they somehow manage to keep the place running like clockwork even when it’s heaving. Only gripe? The early closing time. Just when you’re settling in for a proper evening, it’s time to pack up. Bit of a shame really, because with staff like that, you could happily stay all night. Still, credit where it’s due — great team, great vibe, and two of the best behind the bar. John legend in the kitchen.”

“Was in on Saturday night for Xmas night out with colleagues the pub was jumping with Robyn and bar staff and owner David on karaoke we had called ahead and had a table reserved which is great idea as it gets really busy the bar staff kept the beers flowing with cracking service and kept the place clear of glasses they really encourage a cool relaxed vibe in the bar other all ages catered for with David on karaoke covering the smiths to Modern country with loads of singers and they all encourage you to get up and sing we didn’t have food this time but the have cracking pizza made on the premises def the place to stop in Partick with cracking welcoming staff”

“The Crown Bar was an absolute lifesaver. On 27/10/2023 we had booked the Ferguslie Bowling Club for a wedding party of 30 only to show up to find they had been double booked. However the Crown Bar, after a quick phone call advised they had a separate bar as a function room that could fit up to 45. No deposit required and they moved mountains to accommodate us at a moment's notice. The staff were wonderful and the space was lovely, we were allowed to decorate and use the existing lights and utilise the sound system if needed. Cheap drinks, a vast selection as well and they even suggested we could order food in if we wanted to. Staff and venue were fantastic cannot praise them enough for saving the day. Especially last minute on a Friday night for a group of 30.”

“The Balnagowan Arms is a great bar/lounge, owners are so welcoming. They have darts n karaoke. It's always busy. On Neilston Road. Honestly go in n you will be felt very welcome. Enjoy one n all.”

“My colleague and I stopped to get some food here before our flight. I ordered the half chicken with the habernaro sauce (very hot) and my colleague had the fish and chips. We were served by Abbie who was very gracious and attentive. She made sure our meals came out quickly, checked whether the spice level was okay for me, and had a warm, positive attitude that really stood out.”

Our guests commented on how well organised the day was, and this was largely down to our fabulous co-ordinator Heather. “The Village is a fantastic hotel with everything you need under one roof. There’s a Starbucks, a pub & grill, swimming facilities, and a sauna and steam room — what’s not to love? The staff are incredibly friendly and can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. The food was top-tier, and the service was fast and efficient. I would definitely recommend The Village. Thank you!”

“Both my partner & I were very pleased with the standard of the room, the quality of the food & the friendliness of the service, particularly the lady that served us for breakfast on the Sat morning (29th) I think her name was something like Natasha, a very happy person that was doing her very best to deal with everyone on a Sat morning, she just got on with everything, showing people to their tables, explaining about the continental breakfast, taking their orders & bringing the food to us as well, she was a absolute star, a lot of people wouldn't of handled that pressure, I think having a second person front of house would of just taken the pressure off & given the lady to time really offer outstanding service, but she was still brilliant. The rooms had a much better feel of quality compared to Premier Inn & Travel Lodge. We will be using you again. Thank you for a great stay.”
