“Always perfect nails here! They are perfectionists! Lovely atmosphere and I love the little touch’s like hand massages and oils! 10/10 service wouldn’t go anywhere else”
“Good size. Not absolutely massive but cosy and a good number of seats. Well decorated. Well maintained, doesnt feel like its falling to bits like some theatres do. Good temperature (it was cold outside, we were warm enough for coats off but not sweating), good sound and view. Good location -easy for taxis to drop off but still near city centre”
“Could not wish for better hosts than Roy and Joanna !! I love our interesting chats and laughs!! “Wow where do we start. Our waitress was really nice very helpful. The food was fantastic, we decided to go for the Emporer set menu what a great choice. We had sushi, fried chicken with wassbi mayonnaise black cod, steak, calamari and the deserts were really tasty. Pricey per person but the food and presentation was really good.”
“Newish bar very reasonable prices and great background music . still a cracking little bar”
“Had sweet potato fries and they were delicious and fab portion size - so tasty”
“I got builder gel nails done by Kaytlyn and they're so pretty! It's a very nicely decorated place and I'm so happy with how the nails turned out. The process was quick yet thorough and I haven't had a chipped or loose nail yet. I'd definitely recommend!”
“It was a beautiful place in a beautiful location. Perfect for a wedding we were going to at the old barn. Val and Gerry made sure we were welcomed and well looked after. Lots of advice and tips for where to go for food and walks in the area. The room was HUGE and very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed, the views were stunning too. Great choice for breakfast and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Just wish we could have stayed longer to make more of this beautiful place. Thanks so much for looking after us! Sophie and Dave x”
“We can’t get enough of it here. An outstanding place with the warmest of welcomes. The food and coffee are always spot on, the menu is so thoughtful and creative - as a coeliac it’s a dream come true. We’ve tried the Friday night take out too which Id recommend to anyone. The nachos and the toasties are firm favourites with us. One of our favourite places for weekend food.”
“What a fantastic and different place to stay! Nestled right beside the river Nidd and the viaduct in the heart of Knaresborough, this is truly a special place to stay. Equipped with its own private hit tub that is not overlooked, it's a little bit of well needed luxury. Mike the host can't do enough for you to ensure that your stay is extra special.”
“We stayed at St. George's guesthouse for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The host was very helpful and approachable, and there was plenty of on-site parking available. The guesthouse is a straight 30-minute walk to the city centre, so an ideal place for visitors to York who want a quiet place to stay. We will be sure to visit this guesthouse again.”
“Great wee pub good prices local atmosphere. Worth a visit. Great outdoor space.”
“The atmosphere is effortlessly cool—think retro décor, cozy booths, and a buzzing outdoor terrace perfect for summer evenings. The food is awesome, especially their loaded fries, burgers, and brunch options. The drinks menu is creative, with a great selection of craft beers and cocktails—the Espresso Martini is a winner. What really makes this place stand out is the friendly staff and the relaxed yet lively vibe. It’s ideal for catching up with friends, weekend brunch, or even just a chilled drink after work. The music is always on point too, with DJs and events adding to the fun.”
“I've not been here for many years, it's a bit out of the way but I was nearby so stopped for lunch. It's a traditional pub with three real ales but the food is restaurant quality and a cut above the average pub food, well presented and clearly home made. We had three courses and everything was excellent, swift service and reasonable prices given the quality. We are on a weekday and the place was quiet but we would definitely return.”
“Fantastic food great atmosphere very friendly staff”
“A real pleasure to be back at 3 Acres after covid and the fire! The rooms have greatly improved, they now are beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom too was beautiful ...but terribly cold. Lunch and dinner were excellent, service as well.”
“Great place for parties, friendly staff.”
“What a great little surprise. The manager was super helpful, and the place itself was exactly as a working men's club should be. I have never heard of the place before but will deffo remember it. Everyone should go. It's great and the beer is at the right price as it should be.”
“Incredible place, like stepping back in time. Beautiful tiled walls and ceilings, stunning architecture. Open fire, different saloons to sit in, it's like drinking in the year 1850, it's amazing”
“Unique art deco pub with a beautiful interior and a pub cat, what’s not to love!”

“Had a lovely meal at the Pheasant. Food was delicious and served on hot plates. Reasonably priced food, dog and kid friendly. Staff are all very welcoming. The bar tender called Will was brilliant, he was very accommodating and friendly. He couldn't do enough for us, he's an asset to the pub. Would highly recommend.”
