“Such a cosy pub, lovely staff who were super accommodating and a beautiful roast dinner. Would recommend!!”
“This is the best place to go for an early dinner with your toddler. The food literally comes out within minutes of walking through the door, which means that our hungry little boy doesn’t have a melt down after swimming. The food is delicious as well x”
“Loved this local Pizzeria, with a construction themed menu! The staff were great as was the pizza. Had a lovely local beer to accompany too. Drop by if you're around Todmorden.”
“First time visit, superb Sunday lunch for mum's birthday. Amazing pea and ham soup followed tender sirloin of beef.”
“Nice pub, friendly staff. Great range of beers and ales.”
“Great pub.. the food by jjs on Wheels superb.”
“What a lovely and warm, welcoming and gorgeous gem of a pub. Kath Mark and all the other staff were exactly what you want in a public houses staff; Friendly, chatty and able to pull a pint. The beer garden is ample in space. The interior is clean and homely, a proper nice pub in a lovely part of the world. I have visited the pub 3 weeks on the trot for the last 3 Wednesdays to attend the acoustic music evening (From 7.45pm onwards)- If you want to hear great music or participate in a real, good old fashioned open session with some fantastic players this is the place for you. You don't have to be the best singer, guitarist, fiddle player or percussionist to join in, just be respectful when others are playing and join in if you like, just how it should be. I would definitely class the Bay Horse music night as one of the best I've been to, period. Great environment, great people, a local affair that welcomes visitors. They don't serve food, neither do they need to- It is perfect as it is.”
“The most excellent place to escape from Bronte in Haworth. Great local atmosphere, friendly staff (and patrons), good choice of drinks and food available. We loved it from start to finish.”
“I stayed in hebden for a week and discovered this place near the end of my stay. Very polite and lovely staff. Fantastic food! Not to mention a chef who goes above and beyond when she's not cooking she's clearing tables and radiating loveliness. All food is cooked fresh to order with high quality products used toasties and bacon sandwich are too notch! Delicious iced coffee and all round a beautiful setting and reasonably priced.”
“Love this place, amazing staff. Always as great bands on and now does food”
“The only remaining pub in Luddenden, the Lord Nelson ("the Nelly" to locals) is one of the best and friendliest pubs I've ever been to. The regulars can be a little noisy from time to time and the "banter" a little brisk but, as a gay couple, we were welcomed into the village in the kindest and warmest way by everyone. We love it here and consider ourselves regulars now. Mondays and Fridays are usually the busiest nights, with good beer and a wide range of other drinks. Visitors to Luddenden should note that the pub no longer does food, apart from the usual range of bar snacks. I can heartily recommend the Nelly - the bar staff and locals are just wonderful!”
“This place is amazing. The staff are really friendly, happy to recommend drinks and food, and have a random chat. We stayed for a few drinks and they were really high quality. Had some great beers and then a few gin and tonics (love fever tree). Nice nibbles of charcuterie and cheeses.”
“My old mate Phil from Bass House in Ponty runs The Houghton now I was very pleased to find out recently. Couldn't be in safer hands, great atmosphere, nice locals and a genuinely pleasant local pub, great beer too, loads of sports, great prices. You won't be disappointed so go check it out. Graham.”
“Lovely lively pub. Good beer and service.”
“My favourite pub around, a beautiful microbrewery creating outstanding beers.”
“Great selection! Don’t forget to ask Dave about his curated Sue Pollard collection which is the best in Western Europe”
“Came across this place randomly on social media and decided to pay a visit as was in the area. Lovely little tap room, friendly knowledgeable staff, and a nice range of beers on tap. More interesting beers than the now commercial Magic Rock so we'll be back when next in the area for sure. They also have various food pop ups and open deck nights, nice to see some variation. YoYo the beer monkey also enjoyed it so it's five stars from us!”
“I’ve lived in Golcar for 6 years and ordered numerous takeaways and dined in the restaurant at Haveli and I’ve never had a bad meal. The food is always fresh and tasty. In my opinion it’s the best Indian restaurant around. Highly recommended”
“Really enjoy the atmosphere and drink selections at Gallaghers. Always a great service from the team behind the bar. A nice small bar with some live music now and again outside. Recommended.”
“Certainly the finest pub in Yorkshire. Probably, the best in the world. The Landlord, Paul, is a diamond, allowing for his resemblance to a young Henry VIII.”
“Great little venue. Gives local artists a chance to perform on stage. Great night tonight.5 acts on . free entrance and to top it all off my grandson and his band, the marble arches won the battle of the bands. Well done lads. Great bar with inexpensive drinks. All round a great venue”
“Most definitely my new "local" - fantastic little place, a really friendly welcome and an awesome selection of beers. You could literally punch me in the face on arrival and still get a 5* review for having Inedit and Slippery Customer on draft, thanks for just having the beer and not the brutal welcome though. All the best with the new venture!”
“I went here last week for a birthday meal and it was great! Great service, pretty environment and very friendly staff! We were welcomed and seated pretty much as soon as we walked in and the waiting time for the food was decent! Zara who was serving us was lovely, such a great service! We weren’t waiting too long and the food was also really good. The burger I had was delicious and the fries were good too! I especially loved the little pot of sauce that came with the meal! The meal was also beautifully presented! Very friendly and welcoming place that serves really nice food! Definitely recommend :)”
“Lovely pub n grub. We've been a few times and will be going again for sure.”
“Great little pub in Altofts. Really enjoyed the pizzas, good range of beers, trad and craft. Friendly staff, good with the kids. Nice outside space when the weather is good.”

“My boyfriend and I visit this place now and then as its just down the road from us. It's usually quiet at weekends but the food has always been excellent. The staff are very friendly and its a very modern, comfortable venue. Also they have a very sweet, well behaved pub dog. Would recommend.”
“Called in with my wife on Friday afternoon whilst visiting Pontefract. Lovely friendly landlady and a great selection of cask ales, will be back soon.”
“Brilliant place....myself and a friend go here once a week for pool. The table is brilliant. 10p a game!! Beer is cheap. Landlord is a nice respectable bloke and the customers ive come across are all decent people!”
