“I stayed at Dakota this month for three nights for my wedding. We booked the biggest suite in the hotel and it was absolutely amazing. The team here are something special, they all care about their job so much and made our and our guests experience an absolute joy. The suite was worth every single penny and is truly luxurious. Without a doubt this is the best hotel in all of Leeds and surrounding areas. I will recommend you to everyone. Thank you so so much for making our wedding stay one to remember forever ❤️❤️”
“Fantastic all round. We asked for a nice table if possible with it being our anniversary and we got a great spot in the corner, which was appreciated. The staff were great, friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely excellent. Great experience and a fantastic choice of ales too! Thanks to all the staff, chefs and management.”
“My wife and I have just had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. My wife had the steak pie which was crammed with perfectly cooked beef steak and gravy , with chips and peas. I had game pie again crammed with meat and gravy , with chips peas and a large gravy boat. We could not have asked for a better meal. The wood burning stove blasted out a lot of heat, to make the room comforting. The service is so good that they bring your drinks to your table. Excellent value.”
“Amazing restaurant, incredible service (especially Tui looking after my table). Here for work, great relaxed place and look amazing with food to match. I had a gorgeous spicy duck dish. I will come again next time I'm in Leeds to try more! Thanks.”
“This place is an unwavering favourite. The food is mind blowing, the drinks are well chosen and the staff are truly wonderful. Even though they’re always so busy, they really have nailed the art of hosting. Special thanks to Ojis, Zac and Leandro and of course the wonderful manager Rob. I always look forward to coming back and love bringing visiting friends to this gem.”
“Great place for a drink and some lovely Thai food, bar staff were really friendly and the waiter in the Thai restaurant was also great. Worth a visit if you’re nearby and need some food. This isn’t your usual ‘next to the stadium pub’”
“We had such a lovely evening here, The Aperitivo deal where you get a cheese and olive board was such good value. Our server Imogen was very lovely and knowledgeable on wines and helped us pick our bottle with her expertise, would really recommend this place!”
“Delivers on every level. It was our second visit & we sat upstairs and it was full of charm & artifacts from time gone by. Our server was brilliant & the food tasted fantastic. Come hungry the Sunday roasts were huge.”
“Best pint of tetleys I have had for years. Bar staff brilliant especially the young lady Tracey worth a regular visit”
“Great pub! The food was really good, and the service was friendly and efficient. A nice place to relax and enjoy a meal or a drink.”
“New to the area and had gone by on the bus a couple times, the beer garden always looked so inviting. So we booked in a Sunday roast - can do online or over the phone. Were originally booked in around 4, but were in the area earlier and decided to pop in and see if we could eat 2 hours earlier (annoying I know but we just wanted to see if there was space on the off chance). They were super understanding and accommodating. The food was amazing, came quickly and tasted amazing! The portions were huge!!! The staff were so lovely and attentive. Honestly couldn’t ask for more. After an amazing roast we had one more drink outside in the beer garden which was clean, beautifully put together and there were quite a few friendly dogs out there too, which is always lovely. Will be back!”
“A bit on the pricier side but this place def has one of the best burgers in Leeds. Great service too.”
“My favourite pub of all time, the best pub in Leeds. Gorgeous architecture inside and out, its traditional furnishings are remarkably original. A dynamic array of draught beers and ales that are regularly refreshed over the course of the year. The fact it's framed in my living room says it all.”
“This is an an excellent and friendly pub located close to Leeds town centre.the staff are good and very friendly.the toilets are down in the basement which might be awkward for some people. Also downstairs there is a pool table are some more seating.the old bank vault is an interesting feature.”
“Very good music venue, had a great afternoon watching the SK2 Jazz Orchestra. Very nice atmosphere and good bar serving real ale.”
“What an amazing place to stay, rooms are to a very high standard as train carriages quirky and amazing. Staff are very friendly and the service is second to none. The food here is absolutely amazing, me and my wife had an amazing stay would recommend and we will be back.”
“Fantastic place to visit, loved the interesting music related decor and whole atmosphere of the cafe. We attended a music bingo night and had a fun time. The owners were great hosts and had put on a fab event. There is a good selection of drinks available, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I would also highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches. We had the all-day breakfast and smokestack lighting sandwiches, and they were delicious.”
“A big shout out for Tom for the support he gave us when we visited Everyman in York today. We are still adjusting to life in a wheelchair so were disappointed to find that there is no lift access to theatre one on the first floor. Tom patiently helped us negotiate the stairs and ensured that we were safely seated. His kindness and generosity contributed significantly to an enjoyable day out. That said, surely there should at least be a stair lift installed. Planning regulations were given as the reason for inadequate access provision but surely the Local Authority could be supporting the building owners to find a solution which respects the historic building whilst upholding York’s commitment to inclusivity.”
“Fun music, love the dance floor, love the different levels and various nights they hold such as musicals and rocky horror! Such a good vibe and a club for everyone! Chris!!”
“One of our favourite places for a boogie in York. Banging music, service us good. Only feedback was the toilets which were a state and could so with someone cleaning them up every hour. Whilst u understand its a late night pub not all of us are 18 and can't handle our ale so having a pee in a cleaner place is always appreciated”
“Simon is the most incredible server I have ever had. We came for a bottomless brunch for my birthday and he made sure our drinks were always filled, food was coming. He made our visit here impeccable. I would highly recommend. Worth every penny”
“A great little find, so much Character amidst wonderful surroundings. Good Craft ales too”
“Superb pub. Great selection. Large beer garden”
“Great little venue for live music. Only improvement could be achieved through offering a wide selection of non alcohol drinks for drivers who don't chance drinking and driving. There are too many tables and chairs in my opinion especially as the tables are large, recently I was literally barricaded in by 5 tables with lots of people sat around and I had to use a stick for balance. But overall I hope it goes from strength to strength as the venue and the owner deserve it.”
“A traditional old boozer which regrettably has its lease up for sale. 6 cask ales on including the fantastic Oakham Citra which appears to be a regular. Gents toilets down some steep steps in the cellar. Great view of the cathedral from the back door.”
“Great local pub Lovely staff and fab atmosphere Beer garden that’s got loads of room and seating Monday night is pie night and it really good food Tuesday night is quiz night with raffle and a prizes Gets very busy with a great atmosphere”
“Well, what can I say about this place. Nothing as there are no words that can describe it. No.seriously. :-) The food is outstanding, and the service is second to none from the minute you walk through the door until you leave. I left SA 31 years ago and have struggled to find anywhere that can cook a steak like I get there until now. The photos don't do this place justice. 12/10”
“Great pub full of character and with excellent beer that is well kept. The staff were friendly, the pork pies surprisingly well priced and they were dog friendly, with water bowls dotted around and dog treats at the bar. I recommend”
“Lovely real ale pub. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Great beer garden. Best Sunday lunch ever and delicious pizzas”
“I had a wonderful stay here! The rooms were tidy and welcoming. The bathroom is spacious and well-maintained. The hospitality was truly amazing. Everyone working there was so kind and attentive, always making sure you were well looked after. One of the highlights was the live music in the evenings, which created such a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. Shoutout to Chris Taylor! Overall, it’s a place that goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay.”
