“We were enjoying a weekend away in Linton and booked a table at The Windmill for Sunday lunch. Highly recommend. We were very well looked after by the deputy manager, Renee. Meal and service was excellent.”
“We found Major Tom's Social to be very welcoming. They serve a wide selection of good beers and play an eclectic selection of music. They only have a small food menu. However, the food is so good they don't need a wider range. We felt that a lot of thought went into the food and drink offers.”
“We've been members a while and absolutely love it. The food is always great, the staff are lovely, and they've been great with my young kids who have visited since they were little. We go most weeks and it feels like a real treat. Highly recommend.”
“Service is always bang on, Shisha is very nice. Enjoyed a film on the projector. Very nice vibe.”
“This is a great, welcoming and cosy place. The food is really good tasty and hearty fare. I had the Whitby scampi and will again. A cut above any scampi I've ever had. A nice half of cask ale and a perfect lunch.”
“We enjoyed our meal: large portions: good choice on the menu and excellent, friendly service. The Taylor's Landlord wasn't in good condition and there was a poor choice of Rosé wines, but it would be churlish not to give 5 stars.”
“This is an unspoken secret of Huddersfield. Probably the biggest selection of beer you have ever seen, from all over the place. The place has an eclectic feel, with a laid back attitude, with a clientele ranging from OAP's to students. Well worth a visit for real ale fan's.”
“Traditional small pub with a small restaurant. But really performs like a big hitter! Some larger pubs can be noisy and impersonal, not this one though. No music making everyone talk louder to be heard, so the noise level was perfect. As for the food..traditional pub favourites, huge portions, totally tasty and served beautifully. Price? Two courses cost us £20 per head..so great value for money. Finally, the staff were very friendly and even had some banter. Will be coming back!”
“This place was great. The food was delicious, especially the steak I had! The steak and ale pie my partner had, was one of the best ones I've tried! The atmosphere was calm, it was dog friendly (our girl was offered a doggy roast dinner!) The staff were all so friendly. It has incredible views, and is very spacious. I recommend this place 100%”
“My husband and I just had the most delicious Sunday lunch at The White Swan. The service, food and atmosphere were all 10/10. The staff are so friendly.and welcoming. Fabulous finish to our week's holiday.”
“Early dinner on Friday evening. Keeps up to the excellent standard it has held for many years now. Classic British food with local suppliers well done. Steak, one of the best I have ever had. Wine choice good. Easy service. Not cheap but worth the prices Lunch today with a group of 6. Still excellent food and service. No reservations in continuing to recommend this place.”
“Our large group celebrated an anniversary in the 1885 restaurant last Saturday, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Victoria's exceptional pre-event organization ensured a flawless experience. The beautifully arranged room, prompt service, and delicious food all contributed to a wonderful afternoon. The staff's warm welcome, helpfulness, and attentiveness truly impressed us. Highly recommended – we'll be back!”
“A boujie little Indian restaurant right in the centre of Todmorden, which I had no idea existed until we visited! The restaurant was well-decorated and food was nicely presented. Garlic Naan’s were very moist & buttery which is always the sign of care and quality (in my opinion!). The Madras was a little too hot for my tastes, but as a party of 4 we all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back again!”
“We stayed here for a wedding, it was perfectly located. The room was very clean and neat and perfect for our stay, the bathroom was massive and the shower was lovely. Very comfortable bed and the breakfast included in our stay was gorgeous with plenty of options! I'd stay there again we really enjoyed it, I'd even pop in for a drink the bar area was lovely and lots of choices for drinks. Thanks for a great stay!”
“Went to see Beauty and the Beast ~ what a wonderful new take on this traditional story. An "unknown story" ..... Great storytellers for a different story. Our first time at Goole Junction Theatre, will definitely not be our last.”
“Very nice spot for really tasty food. We had to wait a while as hadn’t booked, so recommend doing so as it is popular. Also there was a slight wait at the bar as not many staff on but the staff were really nice. The food was excellent, nicely cooked meats and tasty. Got the cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets which were both nice additions and big portions. Looks like a great outdoor area at the back overlooking the river”
“Lovely food, really nice staff. We’ve been three times in the last couple of weeks. The food is first class. The prices are reasonable, in particular the drinks. We like our meats very well cooked, and the beef here is slow cooked over a long time and you can separate the beef by just prodding it with the end of your knife. We cannot find beef like this anywhere else in Halifax, and the portions are quite big. The Sunday lunch roast dinner is brilliant, and you can have a small roast for a tenner but there was still plenty of food on the plate, including a beef steak over half inch thick! We have booked Xmas fayre lunch for the extended family. While they serve food daily, if you only eat out at lunchtime, they are open Friday-Sunday for lunch.”
“Had a nice Sunday roast here the other day. Definitely worth a visit if you're wanting lovely cooked pub food”
“I came here simply because my last name is Hinchliffe, and it exceeded expectations. The staff were so welcoming - it felt like I’d shown up to a real family environment. The food was fantastic and high quality. Portions were generous and very fairly priced.”
“We attended a community BBQ laid on by The White Horse, my local pub. This pub is one of the finest eateries in Yorkshire. Their Sunday lunch is to die for. The young staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Tonight, the pub organised a community BBQ. It was simply brilliant. Children were dancing about with wonderful face paintings. Unlike many country pubs that I have visited, there was a wonderful diversity of patrons, all having a ball! As an Irishman, I am very particular about my Guinness. As someone who has pulled pints of Guinness in Ireland and has been drinking it for 50 years, I can honestly say that a pint of Guinness in The White Horse is as good as many I have experienced in Dublin. This BBQ, tonight, brought people from many backgrounds together with stunning live music. I am so lucky to have such an amazing pub in our village of Church Fenton.”
“Amazing food! I think it’s the best pub food I’ve ever had in my life! I had seabass and risotto, and it was delicious. The portion was massive, and very tasty! My friends ordered gammon steak, lasagna, steak pie, and cod fish, and they all are very good!”
“Lovely intimate bar and restaurant in Pudsey. Sourcing and using local produce which is excellent. Started with two very good cocktails which were 241 which is great vfm. Quiet atmosphere with background music which meant it was perfect for conversations. Staff very pleasant and efficient. Scallops were cooked to perfection. We had the Chateaubriand and it was melt in the mouth gorgeous! The chips were the best I have ever tasted. Side salad perfectly dressed and the broccoli was brought to life with chilli, Parmesan and almond flakes! We even managed to share a delicious sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend this local restaurant.”
“Great lunch today. Loved the salads. Very relaxing atmosphere. There were a stream of customers flowing in and out. It seems popular with the locals!”
“Lovely quirky little bar at the top end of Chapel Allerton with seating on ground floor & upstairs.”
“Really enjoyed the coffee and wrap. Good portions and quite a reasonable price. Especially for the city centre. Friendly staff too. Can get very busy at times with staff from neighbouring offices.”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our first food tasting experience at V&V. Chef Jono's food is incredible. Beautiful flavours expertly seasoned. We were looked after so well from the moment we arrived with such attentive customer service and so many wonderful flavours and textures that I kept saying ‘wow!’ We were so well looked after by the staff as well Every course was delicious and presented so perfectly. I will definitely be going back.”
“Wow what a amazing little restaurant, where to start, my starter was absolutely beautiful, I had meatballs in a tomato sauce with new potatoes and carrots, the sauce was so tasty, and everything was fresh, my main I got sea bass with green beans, new potatoes, prawns, with a tomato sauce, wow the sea bass was cooked to perfection, social distancing was followed and I really enjoyed my experience this deserves more than the 5 stars, will definitely be back very soon. Thanks for amazing food and service.”
“Only been for drinks so not sure about the food. Always have a couple of decent beers on nice friendly atmosphere.”
“A great British pub. The food was delicious, especially the apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding with custard. The wine was good too. It was quiet and had a nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again when we're in the area.”
“Wow. Lovely midweek lunch of bacon steaks, lovely buttery mash etc all brilliant. Very attentive to my food allergy, great service and lovely surroundings. I can highly recommend and look forward to returning again.”
