“Seats are very comfortable (better than Everyman, in fact). Ticket prices are probably the cheapest anywhere - £7 for an adult on a Saturday. Staff were friendly. Venue was clean. I'm not normally a fan of a multiplex cinema but this was a good experience.”

“We visited the Alium Restaurant for the Vegan menu. I am pescatarian hence we went for this menu. Wow is all I can say. The food, wine flight, and service was incredible. The chef Luke came out to explain a number of the dishes personally and was incredibly helpful. We have tried to book for the next Vegan week but they haven’t released the dates yet! I am fortunate enough to have eaten all over the world in some incredible restaurants, this beats them all and it is in our home town!”

“Outstanding experience from start to finish. The welcome was genuine, service was swift, and the coffee was superb—rich flavour, perfect temperature, and silky milk. The café is spotless with a calm, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to linger. After our earlier, underwhelming coffee and service at “Over The Rainbow,” this place completely turned our morning around. A true five-star café and an easy recommendation.”

“Now Our local shop and we must go in at least 2-3x a week, the new lads running it have done an absolutely fantastic job! They are always very welcoming and polite and every time will also say hello to my little boy too (and give him the occasional chocolate as well) very nice set of men and a very tidy, well stocked shop”

“See the update at the end of this original review. We have been coming here since the very beginning. It started with a kiosk while the cafe was being finished. We were extremely impressed by the fabulous coffee and brilliant staff. When Caffe Valeria was opened we knew we had found “our” place! We visit often, both as a couple and some times with friends. The coffee is and the choice of cakes and pastries is excellent. The staff are always smiling and making us feel welcome. All the staff are helpful and kind. We must mention George, Liv and Olly as going above and beyond to make us feel special. Please don’t change a thing. Helen and David Update, George, Liv and Ollie (the stars of Valeria’s) have all left taking its heart with them. We no longer go there. Staff could be better trained, owner unpleasant. We feel we have lost something very special.”

“Lovely atmospheric place for a morning coffee. Literally felt like we sat in a castle's underground prison (because we were!) Coffee was nice and service was quick. We didnt have anything to eat but the sandwiches looked good. Only thing is there are no toilets here! They are the other side of the bridge in the library!”

“First time going here today, and I’ve never ever seen owt like it!! The place is insane, so so much to do and keep the kids busy all day. We was here from 10.15am till 4.10pm. If it wasn’t for needing to get our train back to Leeds we’d of stayed until the place closed. All the staff were friendly, polite, smiles on their faces. They were there to help if needed! The boys were gutted to go home, and are already dying to come back again!! “A bit out of town because of the “nothing higher than the Minster” rules in York. A bugger to travel to from the centre. Saw - I SCREAM - excellent film. The whole place for a Wednesday night was a bit deadsville gulch.”

“It was such a delight to dine here. The food was delicious. The smoked half chicken was absolutely juicy despite it being smoked which is usually isn't the case and the reaper was absolutely spicy as hell but the patty was delicious. The scoop doo was immaculate. And Joseph was so attentive and constantly checking in to make sure we didn't die of the spiciness and made sure we were comfortable. Loved being here!”

“Great apartment. Perfect for a couple of days away! Clean and well presented. Bed was really comfortable. Walking distance to York center. Only slight negative was it does get hot on the warmer days with not much option to ventilate. Easily fixed by going out and enjoying York in the sun. We will be re booking again definitely.”

We come to this store all the time to pick up any items we need and we love the atmosphere, the staff, especially the youngsters, are super friendly and always make us feel very welcome! ☺️”
