“I’ve been going to this place for a few times now. The guy there is extra nice and knowledgeable. He guided me step by step on how to set up my first ever aquarium and I’ve been adding fishes every now and then following his advice. Not pushy at all and found him honest and humble.”
“Loved it. A great campsite. A lovely blend of conveniences and a natural/wild feel to the pitches. Highly likely to return and recommended.”
“We had the best time ever at Aqua Park Rutland! From start to finish, the experience was smooth, exciting, and absolutely worth. The location itself is stunning set right on the edge of Rutland Water, surrounded by greenery and open sky. It’s such a beautiful spot for a summer day out, whether you’re participating or just watching.”
“Lovely facility. Well kept and very neat. Lots of space for picnicing, has a life guarded rocky beach for 'wild' swimming, has a play ground, sand pit. Has loos and catering on site. Rather too much litter left behind by visitors however - sad.”
“Very open with a small wooded area and pond. Paths are all easy to walk on. There are toilets and dog wash facilities (you pay extra for dog wash service). The main walk is about 2.5 miles around the perimeter which passes by the local rugby ground where if it's Thursday or Friday opens as a delightful tearoom. Car parking is available via barrier entry.”
“Abbey Park is a big city park in Leicester. Facilities are good and convenient to people. I like to spend my leisure time there.”
“Great chill out place. Great place to go have a drink and let the lovely natural setting and peaceful atmosphere replace the nonsense of the day. I always come away from here feeling better than when I arrived. It gets busy at the weekends, particularly on a sunny day. So if you prefer a livlier atmosphere, go at the weekend. For a relaxing chill in a beautiful setting, visit in the week.”
“There's a lot to see and lots of little trails around watermead. You can access via lots of different areas, there's many carparks. Lots of lakes to explore.”
“Nice park with a variety of activities. There's outdoor gym, kids playground, sensory area, table tennis, tennis court, football golf (need to bring own ball) and more. The car park is free, which is a nice bonus.”
“A quiet and nice place with a big walk path. Plan for the change in weather and pack an umbrella with you. Perfect place to take your dogs for a walk.”
“Such a beautiful park. Something for all the family. Tennis courts, outside gym, play are with sand pit, skate park and pump track.”
“Wonderful large area of nature just outside the city centre. I've spent well over 70 hours here walking and bird watching over the 3 years I've been in Leicester. I often walk in the mornings and everyone I've spoken with, even just briefly, has been very nice and welcoming. There are many different walking routes - accessible ones and some muddier. It takes about an hour to walk from one end to the other and there are maps situated all around. I'd recommend checking out the Facebook group if you'd like to see some of the nice wildlife photos taken there and the website/app eBird if you want a very thorough overview of the birds there. The main problem is during school holidays when it gets a lot noisier and unfortunately a lot of litter gets left behind.”

“Not too large but filled with excitement and beautifuly maintained. We've spent an hour by the aviary.”
“We went as a family on the bat box making event. This was amazing. It is where to find an event that keeps everybody happy from the 7-year-old to the grandmother of the family. We had such a great time and there's going to be a Robin box making near Christmas, can't wait.”
“Beautiful place ...nice walks....sometimes there's a chappie that sell hot beverages...nice on a cold day....”
“A great varied reserve with open meadows, reedbeds, and ponds. Good location for redwings (along the pathways), and starling murmurations in the winter, buzzards and kestrels, barn owls, and a variety of waterfowl.”
“Rutland waters have always been pleasurable getaway from everyday busy life. Calm beautiful lake with huge car park, cafés, public toilets and plenty of bins located convincingly everywhere. Can easily spend a nice day out with friends and family, on a good sunny day, you can even get a boat ride too. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view of open landscapes and country side air. Always peaceful and quiet, it can get a little busy during summer times but plenty of space for everyone to relax.. Well maintained overall! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to just relax and get away for a day!”
“There is a great walking track around the reservoir that spans 24 kilometers in a circuit. I previously walked this route with my family as a practice before the West Highland Way. It's an excellent track to prepare for a long hike. The best time to walk the circuit is early in the morning - peace and quiet. Although most of the car park doesn’t open until 7:00 or 9:00 am, there are a few street parking spaces available near Barnsdale. I found that walking in the early hour provides the best sighting for birdwatching enthusiasts.”
“A great place for a day out with your family. There are many activities to enjoy, including cycling, walking, and fishing(flies fishing only). You can also bring your own games like tech rings or football. There is a large shop for cycle hire and another one for fishing equipment, both of which close at 16:00. If you love BBQs, you can bring your own supplies and have a proper BBQ party on-site, as BBQs are allowed. Additionally, there is a café where you can enjoy hot or cold drinks. One downside I found is that there is a lot of dog stool on the grass, so be careful where you step.”
“Recently signed up. Facilities are amazing, everything all in one place, cleanliness is second to none and staff are always helpful and proactive with any issues. Of particular note Kian who signed me up always acknowledges and checks in whenever we pass giving a nice personal touch. 10/10 would recommend”
“Castle Park is a lovely green space in the middle of Leicester. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the busy city, with lovely green spaces, historic ruins, and the gentle flow of the River Soar nearby. It’s clean, quiet, and great for a walk or quick break.”
“A lovely place for a picnic. Great dog walks and lots of free fruit to pick. Highly recommend a visit.”
“EGYM machines are fantastic. The gym is well spaced out. The reception and fitness staff are friendly and supportive”
“It's free and about 2 years ago was just birds now there's goats and chickens rabbits.. my son loved it and the little play area I'm the middle”
“It's for sure, a hidden gem of Leicestershire - located just south of Anstey, it has some magnificent views, especially when you get to the fields, the views are excellent, and there's barely anyone here, although you can subtlety hear the sound of traffic on the Leicester western by pass - it's not to loud and should foe the most part be quiet and relaxing.”
“My home club. Been playing here for over 25 years. Awesome friendly staff. Constantly upgrading tables and cloths. Great selection of food and drink.”
“I love this place a maze full of trees, always take our wellies to walk through the stream. Great for kids and adults alike. Thrre are two car park entrances to Swithland Woods this one to the south and another to the north. I come here in all weathers and seasons. In the summertime you can even have a picnic at the picnic tables located near the north car park. They have now started to charge for car parking but still a great alternative to Bradgate park.”
“Very lovely place, great ambience and accessible doors.”
“Lovely friendly staff and absolutely delicious breakfast rolls. Everything cooked perfectly especially the bacon, couldn't be better! Fantastic spot to sit in the sunshine - living locally we come as often as we can.”
