“WOW! Incredible food this evening. Highly recommend trying some of the less obvious dishes. The Roshun chilli chicken was probably the best curry I've ever had. And if you follow my reviews, you'll know I eat A LOT of curries! Staff are lovely and we're very accommodating with my son who has a disability. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.”

“Really nice public house in an historic building within the town walls; they also have their own onsite micro-brewery with four of their ales on tap when we visited all of which were excellent. The staff are friendly and as we piled in as a group of eight they did their best to accommodate us despite us not having a booking (we had been let down by another pub in Chester that accepted our booking but when we arrived they stated that they didn’t have any room for us) , both for tables and food. The food was very well cooked with a good choice including vegan meals. All in all, a very nicely ran pub with pleasant staff, good ales and food; what more can you ask for?”

“It was our first visit (a Birthday celebration) and its certainly won't be our last. The entire dining experience was faultless. We received a warm welcome, enjoyed stunning oer d'oeuvres and fizz, before moving into the restaurant for the exquisite 7 course tasting menu which was accompanied by superb well thought out drinks pairing. A social mention to Sommelier Boris, whose knowledge and passion shone through and made sure that we had a memorable experience. Hats off to Chef Elliot and team. Chester should be proud! “Went here for the Porsche planes and cars event. Great day out, diner is very nice with eating in and out, staff were friendly and its family friendly. We didn't have any food apart from a coffee and slice of cake but we wouldn't of hesitated to order any food as it appears clean, and we'll managed. Staff appeared organised and not stressed under pressure as it was quite busy. Would recommend a visit and will be visiting again.”

“We came here as a group of 7 for Sunday lunch. Alice was attentive and explained the menu to us. The lunch menu is really good value for me and the portion sizes are good. There's parking around the streets but they aren't far from rhe restaurant. We'd come back here as there's lots to try on the menu.”

“Awesome! A hidden gem. Really got a sense that the sisters in charge cared about quality and customer happiness. Food was far far better than expected, a credit to the obvious hard work to all staff. Photos are of Edge Bomb starter and Salmon main course, both delicious. Left feeling good that I had put money in this till as it was so well deserved. Will recommend to all, much better than chain restaurant food. Location not ideal and parking not great, definitely recommend phoning in advance to book.”

“Came by for a late lunch on a recommendation. You MUST order the Cacio e Pepe butter beans. (But share as a starter as massive!) had a pizza which was really good. Excellent service from Nicole overall particularly when she let me know service was already in optimal on the receipt when I said to add a tenner.”

“We first visited this pub well over 25 years ago for a well earned date night whilst we had a 2 hour babysitter . Sat outside with a bottle of wine and watched the farmer gathering his crops with a combine harvester from the field opposite . This memory has remained with us for all these years . We actually thought the pub had been demolished until by pure fluke we drove past a couple of weeks ago and realised it was still there and thriving ! Called in again for a few drinks sat outside looking at the same farmers field but without the combine unfortunately ! We booked for dinner this evening and all I can say is WOW ! Amazing atmosphere ! Fabulous food ! Great value for money ! Had the chicken & leek pie and couldn’t finish it as I was so full ! Copious amounts of chicken in the pie and mountains of well cooked veg ! Absolutely 10 out of 10 Staff are courteous and attentive and land lord & land lady are simply beautiful & welcoming ! Will definitely be back !!”

“We booked Cancello for a family pre Christmas get together for 16 people. Booking was straightforward and they asked us to pre order starters and mains the week before. On arty the welcome was warm and the table prepared perfectly. Everyone’s individual choice was spot on and the quality of the food exceptional. We had 3 young children and a baby in our group, and the staff were lovely towards them. A great venue, lovely atmosphere and superb food. Highly recommended.”

“Absolutley loved the food here and will be going again without a doubt. Good quality, hot food. The only downside was the tables are very close together and so you can hear every word of every other conversation going on. Found myself raising my voice just so I could have a conversation.”

“Did the lunchtime deal with mum on a Friday afternoon. Booked online as I know it's a smallish place and with the festive season upon us I thought it would be busy - I was right! £15.95 for any pizza or pasta, plus a beer, wine or soft drink. Duck pizza for me was beautiful and mums seafood pasta disappeared in record time so I'm guessing it was nice! Lovely service, clean, great menu, and the included drink selection was much better than other deals of its type I have seen. This was our second visit, and most certainly will not be our last!”

“Top Class restaurant without the high end prices. Absolutely delicious food, can't fault it and I'm fussy and a traine chef. Full of flavour, great portions. Staff even when restaurant was extremely busy very polite, attentive, service with a huge smile every time. Extremely sparkling clean . Wonderful atmosphere. Can't wait to go back. “Had a fantastic meal at Posthouse in Orrell recently. The ribs were genuinely some of the best I’ve had—perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and falling off the bone. You can tell they take care with the preparation. Pairing them with their freshly made mojitos was spot on—the drinks were balanced, refreshing, and not overloaded with sugar like you find in some places. The atmosphere was relaxed but stylish, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a great spot if you’re after quality food and drinks at reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back.”

“Just had a gorgeous lunch for my birthday at Miller and Carter Parbold. Amazing food and the best service from Eddie. Polite, friendly and even got a little birthday dessert arranged for me. This was our first time visiting and will definitely be back.”

I received a call from the manager Cosmos on the same day. He was very receptive to my constructive criticism and promised to address the issues. I was very impressed. Thank you for this. “Fireworks. Food and atmosphere was brilliant, my sister’s family and my family had a really good time. (Family of 8) Two young girls who looked after the Sunter table were brilliant. “What a gem. Hadn't booked but they kindly fitted us in, and I'm glad we went. The food was spectacular with a great choice from the menu. Only down side was that I was a little disappointed with the amount of vegetables/ potatoes that came with it. Easily resolved by ordering some more, but it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Staff were polite and helpful, and although the restaurant was fully booked, we weren't at time made to feel that we had to go. Would easily recommend to anyone who comes to Chester and fancies an Italian.”

“Excellent experience to dine here these two nights I stayed in Chester. The first night, I ordered steak, medium rare, the meat was really well prepared. The taste, the seasoning was super tasty. Tonight, my husband and I ordered lamb chops, it was AMAZING!!!! The sauce was so tasty. It’s definitely worth coming again.”
