“We held our Pearl Wedding anniversary celebrations here and the service, food, venue were absolutely fantastic. Beccy and the team work tirelessly to make everyone feel welcome and make everything run smoothly without any hitches. The outdoor area was beautifully set up and decorated tastefully with music and lighting into the evening it was perfect. Could not have asked for a better day.”

“We stumbled on this amazing restaurant over the weekend and so glad we did! It felt like we'd stepped foot into Spain. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and the food was stunning. The service felt so personal, something you don't find in bigger chain restaurants. There's a large vegetarian/vegan tapas menu as well as meats and fish so plenty to choose from. I would definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone.”

Last night we enjoyed the Wednesday steak night which is fantastic value for money at £16 for a rump steak , chips , mushrooms, tomatoes and a medium glass of red wine. All served by the staff who enjoy working there .”

“We had the 3 course menu and it really delivered. We had the chicken and the calamari to start. The steak was well cooked and the sauces and lettuce wedge great additions. Then the sticky toffee pudding was the best dessert by far! The staff were really attentive.”

I had lambs liver and bacon with onions and mashed potatoes, as I don't enjoy cabbage I asked for mushrooms instead which was duly served and delicious. “Went to the Four Pears for a business lunch yesterday and had an amazing steak! It was cooked to perfection and the only problem was I wanted more! I had to leave for a meeting but the person I was with had a sticky toffee pudding that he said was divine. Definitely go here if you haven’t already.”

“The food is always awesome! Can highly recommend the ‘16 hour pulled smoked brisket’, it was mind blowing, full of amazing flavour. But all of the food we had was superb. The food was also great I hear it got new owners 5 months ago and then took it from the highbrow place it was before back to a top notch, still elevated, local. “I had never been to Althorp Coaching Inn until I was recommended their brilliant open mic event, that happens once a month in the barn. George is a brilliant and welcoming host who delivers excellent sound quality, making performing an absolute joy. It is the best of any I have been too. The staff at the bar are brilliant and the decor and atmosphere is superb. Thanks to visiting the open mic last Tuesday, I became aware of Liane Carroll performing on the Thursday and bought a ticket. I was delighted to see more events planned. I wold not have found this delightful venue were it not for the highly recommended open mic. I am looking forward to eating there next time.”

“Having visited the restaurant twice in the past couple of months for family special occasions, I cannot praise the front line and kitchen staff enough for their whole professional service. From the time we arrived to the time we left I cannot really find fault with anything. Credit to the management team, also to Angelica our server who is a born natural in her profession with such a great personality who made us so welcome each visit, and not forgetting the chef who is definitely professional in all manners..They are both an asset to the company.”

“I really enjoyed my time here. Went for a family meal, and there was a wide choice of food for everyone. Quality of the food was great, and nobody had any issues. The venue was clean and welcoming, but maybe a little on the cold side with the change in temperature that day - but cant really blame them for that. Staff were all really nice and gave a great quality of service. The venue was great for us as a family to come, but it would equally be fine for just a couple to go to. My only point for improvement would be the beer selection wasnt exactly to my taste, but it might be to yours. Will definitely be making a trip there again, and hopefully when the canal museum is open too.”

“Wednesday- Steak night (although I think they have something on every night, bar Mondays!) I had the flat iron steak. Which is basically like a fillet steak. Hubby had a Serloin. Great food, atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff. Highly recommended.”
