“We visited for the Christmas Light Trail. It was absolutely phenomenal. Planned really well. Car parking staff were attentive. Care was taken for the trail to be as accessible as possible given the rain and inevitable mud. We can't wait to attend next year!”

“Plenty of walking trails and play areas for children. Also there is free car parking which can accommodate a lot of vehicles. There are ducks to feed but there a little wary of humans.”

They provided encouragement when my daughter didn't want to do one drop, and made everything really fun and exciting. Well done, our kids had a brilliant morning. Tubing.”

“Addison Howard Park is truly a hidden gem in Kempston! The park impresses with its beautifully maintained green spaces and peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for family walks, jogging, or relaxed picnics on sunny days. The newly updated playground is fantastic – safe, colorful, and well-designed, offering plenty of fun for children. I also appreciate the variety the park offers – there are sports courts, an outdoor gym, and large open spaces where you can walk your dog. Everything is clean, well-kept, and welcoming to visitors. The park also regularly hosts events, so there’s always something interesting happening. Access is easy, with parking available on-site. However, it would be even better if there were more trash bins throughout the park and easier access to toilets, especially for families with young children. For me, Addison Howard Park is still the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and refreshing outdoor space! The newly updated playground is fantastic – safe, colorful, and well-designed, offering plenty of fun for children.”

“This is the local park (along with Priory Country Park) for anyone living in east Bedford. I've included pictures of the Embankment, the Boating Lake and the river as they are so close but Russell Park itself is already full to the brim with lovely walks, an extensive playground (with an accessible section), The Kiosk that serves wonderful smoothies and has public toilets, and a mini golf. A lot of events are held here (Bedford Running Festival, main act at the River Festival, amusements, etc.) and it's the perfect spot for a summer picnic, an autumn leaf-focused romp, a winter stroll or a spring wildlife watching exercise.”

“The parking fee is £5.50 payable at the entrance next to a manned barrier. Decent parking spaces and there is a small coffee shop and toilets right next to it and a small outside gym. The first children's playground is opposite the coffee shop. There is a sandpit there and a nice climbing frame. And benches for picnics. The second one is further down the road on the left side. It has more climbing frames, swings, slides.. and benches to sit on. On the right side there is plenty of space for a picnic, a few benches overlooking the lake. And this is as far as we got. There is still a lot more to see and I can't wait to visit again. The weather has been amazing (we were really lucky) and it felt so peaceful here.”

“So much fun when it snows! Enough for a small snow man, beautiful in summer, big play area for kids, little hill for snow sledging and big enough to walk around for a while or look at the ducks on the pond :)”

“Great outdoor space with tree lined walking paths, streams and canal paths great for family days out. This area is located in the Water Eaton district of Bletchley, but can also be accessed via the Rugby Club just off of Watling Street opposite Dobbies Garden Centre. Ample free parking can be found, there is also a nice little play area for the kids. Great picnic space for those warm days, there are picnic tables and seating scattered about so you do not have to sit on the grass. There is also a community orchard to be found there, ample seating and you are allowed to pick the fruit when it is in season. Great place would recommend a visit.”

“Very pleasant walk round. Dogs enjoy the many smells and views. Lots of fishing chilling the night away. Must be a safe place due to the amount of fishermen staying overnight. Right next to the canal not far from the Grove Lock.”

“A lovely, large and sprawling park perfect for a hot summer day to chill out and relax in. There are a number of benches for resting and a good number of litter and dog waste bins. The park is surrounded by woods and the Grand Union Canal and is a short walk to local shops. In the summer football and cricket are played on the fields.”

“A lovely place to walk, and especially walk with a dog. It's so quite and peaceful, it's not to far away, its going to be me and my dog's regular place to walk.”

“Fantastic and friendly country park- with beautiful walks and a weekly park run. As well as lots of local groups who use the field. Great walk to the Cromwell Cottage at Kislingbury”

“Plenty of parking on Weekdays and good clean toilets. There is a small cafe with an outdoor area useful to shelter from the odd rainy day. The walks around the lake are popular with dog walkers and parents with smaller children”

“Had a great time here with my 7yo son. Fantastic to see young people with a great attitude working here, credit to the management behind the scenes keeping them motivated. Everything went smoothly, felt fun and relaxed. The course itself was awesome fun and very child friendly. We didn't get cold and wasn't wearing wetsuits, it was 23° on the day but had been a warm week.”

“I was lucky enough to win four tickets to Wicksteed Park in a competition, and I went there yesterday. What a fantastic day it was! I absolutely loved my visit and would highly recommend the park to anyone looking for a full day of fun. The first thing that impressed me was how enormous the park is. There's so much space to explore that you never feel cramped or are fighting for room. The size of the park gives you a sense of freedom and the opportunity to discover something new around every corner. Besides the space, there's a huge amount to do. The variety of entertainment is impressive, with attractions for all ages. Whether you're looking for big thrills or something more gentle, there's something for everyone. We spent the whole day there and still felt like there were more things to see and do, which is a big plus. For me, Wicksteed Park is the perfect place for a fun family day out. The atmosphere is great, and with so much to do, it's impossible to get bored. It was an experience I'll remember fondly.”

“This is a great place for a walk, and really great if you have kids that like to run around a lot and like wind turbines. Parking is reasonably priced, but not free. The visitor's centre is a beautiful building which has information, a shop, and a cafe inside. Dogs are welcome in the cafe. Outside of that is a playground area with swings, slides, and a good network of ropes as a climbing frame.”

“A great experience for all ages! Inclusive, fun and affordable. Boost has been able to bring myself, friends and family engaged and most importantly healthy in a fun way! The facilities were clean and the staff were more than helpful to any questions or queries. I highly reccomend!”

“A good little visitors centre. Toilets are outside and to the rear. There's also a baby changing area. The centre offers hot food and drinks. Some outdoor seating too. Service was fast and efficient. Some good informative boards at the back of the room. Set out and runs smoothly, I cannot fault, and its a pleasure to visit this centre.”

“The kids loved this, especially on the hot sunny day we visited. Area was clean and tidy and has both the play area and splash area. Only down side perhaps is the facilities - the loo option by the car park is old school (metal everything / toilet seat that is screwed down etc!)”
