Bar pub in Nottingham

“THIS is a proper English pub. Stayed here twice, staff are welcoming, food is incredible, none of those cheap crappy sauces, decent portions, great beer and lovely decor and amenities. Can’t recommend enough!”

“What a lovely pub in a lovely location overlooking the River Trent, with tables and chairs on lawns between the river and the pub. The Erewash canal is to the side of the pub with it's fascinating lock gates and other interests. We drove up by Campervan from our South Somerset home to visit family members in Beeston. There were no campsites near Beeston but searching for Pub Stop-overs we found The Trent Lock Pub (formerly The Navigation Inn.) We phoned ahead, got the thumbs up and arrived 5pm. We selected a parking slot at the rear of the car park looking onto grass land and trees. We invited two family members for dinner and we ate at 7.30pm (the pub opened at 6pm) The food was superb and we didn't have to wait long for it. I had the chicken salad with avocado and bacon plus a side of sweet potato fritters. Incredible flavours!The others had Salmon and onion fishcakes with shrimp sauce with broccoli and other vegetables, which they enjoyed. Wine was a nice Sauvignon Blanc. The service was good and the staff were pleasant so what else could one ask for. So we will come Pub Stop-Over camping at the Trent Pub every time we visit Beeston and we know we'll get good free camping and bl__dy good food. “Everything about our experience today was excellent. Lovely open fire, attentive service from both ar staff , manager and waiting staff. The meals came hot ,were delicious and once again the service was great . Really enjoyed today and based on today's experience would definitely recommend. Thankyou .”

“What a great place. We are on our way back from Scotland and discovered this gem. The hospitality and service are hard to beat. Despite the late hour, everything we had hoped for was made possible. Individual menus were put together in consultation with Jess and the team. They even asked how the dog would like his steak. We were able to park our campervans at the back of the pub. It's a really great place with a good location right next to a green space. The food was delicious and less greasy than in comparable pubs. Thank you, Jess, for everything. We hope to see you again soon. And a big thank you to the wonderful new bartender (unfortunately, I don't know her name).”

“Alex was a brilliant quiz host—fun and engaging without dragging it out. The pizza from the oven was delicious, fresh and hot, and the drinks were spot on. A great mix of good food, good atmosphere, and a bit of friendly competition. Would definitely go again!”

“Sazzza was absolutely lovely this evening, she’s recommended the best dishes, the service is brilliant from her. The environment was cozy and quiet and friendly. The food was wonderful. Recommended 28 day steak 80z Sirloin and BBQ Chicken, shoutout the chefs tonight. Would come back again! Absolutely wonderful, definitely worth the money and price for the food as well.”

“Whet for a 50th birthday party the atmosphere was great, the establishment through out was very clean and tidy. The staff was great and very cheerful, professional and polite the food was great and also as 2 rooms at the front and a big room at the back with a big outdoor garden with table. At the front they have ample of parking space and also for people who smoke an outdoor shelter I would recommend this place from my experience.”

“It was our second time visiting the Admiral Rodney as we really enjoyed our date in there the first time . Always a lovely cosy atmosphere and great we can bring our dog in with us too . On ordering by the app and noticing that pies had ran out I thought I’d check with the man behind the bar . He was very helpful and friendly and checked for me and two pies were still available. Had a starter of a sharing nachos dish then a main of steak and ale pie , mash and veg . Food was amazing and extremely filling . Can’t wait to go back again .”

“Fab venue for live music. @The Days of Tomorrow were fabulous! Thanks to the manager for one more song. Alcohol free IPA actually tasted pretty good for a designated driver. :) Can't wait to come back. Easy parking at Spondon Street. Do wish it was lit at night.”

“Stopped by for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Had the 2 mains for £13.50 deal. Chicken burger & Chicken salad. Staff are friendly and our doggies were most welcome. Sat out the back while the sun was out for 5mins.”
