“Was having difficulty getting an acceptable price on car insurance. Been a company car driver for over 4 decades so no insurance in my name and despite having letters from previous employers confirming no accidents whist in their employment (I had use of company car for private use). Swinton Insurance, who insure my wife's car as the main user but I'm a named driver and have been for close to 40 years didn't take this into account, nor the fact I had never made a claim as a named driver. “I was paying £3000 a year for my car insurance with a black box and could not find a cheaper quote anywhere for months, I used all the comparison sites you can think of and called ones who weren’t on the sites and still nothing. I called howdens and managed to get a quote of £1400 WITHOUT black box. Amazing!!! I took the policy out with Laura Ansty - she was patient and explained everything in great depth (I don’t really know much about insurance ect she helped me with that). Policy was taken out and I had a few things I needed explained in which I spoke to Ashley Tobin. Again amazing and wasn’t hesitant at all regardless of the multiple calls I made. They were super helpful with advice and lending me a booster pack so I could get my car started.
