“The BEST hidden gem! The owners are absolutely wonderful – so passionate, welcoming, and friendly, they make you feel like part of the family as soon as you walk in. The food is just delicious, made with genuine Italian ingredients that taste completely different to anything you’ll find in other cafés. Every bite is full of authentic flavour and love. “Very good local pub with a friendly atmosphere. The decor is classic old school, the are 2 very nice, old looking wood burning stoves. The bar staff were friendly enough and the beers on tap were very reasonably priced, especially for a pub down south! We went on a Friday and it was busy, but I think that adds to the atmosphere, but turn up early to get a table if you're a big group. I will definitely be returning on the not too distant future and recommending this pub to friends and family. Oh, and it is cash only, so come prepared.”

“Hands down THE BEST pizza in Aldershot. Doesn’t taste like some cheap takeaway pizza that you can get anywhere. It feels almost as if it’s homemade. The restaurant itself is very nice. You may not notice it but there is an area with some tables if you go down the corridor. You can definitely see how passionate the owners were when making this place and well… the food. I also reccomend the spaghetti carbonara”

“I'd like to say this place is dreadful and tell everyone to stay away, but only so that we can book to come back soon. In reality, this is one of those places that stay with you. A week after eating here and every day there's been a moment where I catch myself daydreaming about the meal we had. The meal, the atmosphere, the service. 10/10. Incidentally the £ range I selected included drinks.”

“We went for lunch as we had our granddaughter for the day and loved the "kids eat free in the holidays" deal. The food is always delicious and portions generous. Thank you for looking after us Gabbie, you were fabulous, and we appreciated your patience when a five year old bossy boots was listing what she wanted for her dessert. If you've got the app there's always more treats and deals so it's well worth downloading before you go The Marry Me Rigatoni was a triumph and my Caesar Salad one of the best I've ever had. “Definitely a unique experience. Been there only once for breakfast. Not only were the staff kind and courteous, they were very quick with service and I was able to pay easily for my food and drink. Not to mention they had some foods I'd never even heard of, and new pasta shapes. It was kind of relaxing, just sitting and enjoying a simple brownie and a cup of tea. Would definitely recommend for you early birds.”

“Alto Lounge is one of my favourite locations to enjoy a good breakfast and a lovely cup of coffee. It's always spot on and the lovely people working here make sure you are always having a good experience. We asked for substitutions, they've done it. We asked for recommendations, they've provided extensive info. They checked on us to make sure everything is top. Can't fault them. Thank you very much for everything you do!”

“The food was so tasty. My husband and I had lamb shank, there was so much meat on the bone and we ordered cauliflower cheese as a side, this was V cheesy and there was plenty. Mother in law had the venison stew, she said it was tasty and there was loads. My son had the boar sausage, he ate everything and said it tasted really good. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. We were a bit cold in the snug, but they turned the heating up for us and we soon warmed up. Will definitely go again.”

“Had a flyer through my door with great photo's of their Thai food, so I thought I would try them. I thought my Thai Green curry was pretty good but after having one from their menu I was amazed ! it was stunning, so good I went back the following week and then also with the girlfriend and then the following weekend with 2 friends, we were all very very impressed with the superb menu stunning food and great service, give them a try you will not be disappointed. “We all really enjoyed our meals, a very cheery server. Our food was bought quickly and was universally enjoyed. There were a few minor niggles, such as no coffee available due to faulty machine (these things happen) but not enough to spoil our enjoyment.”

Meal was mildly interrupted when the lady below quite literally jogged after the manager she's talking about shouting excuse me excuse me turning multiple heads. Could just quietly walk up to the bar and query the resolution like a normal person as 50% off the bill sounds reasonable. Shouldn't write this as it's probably giving the attention they obviously look for. Anyway, didn't ruin the experience, will be back again!”

“Did a group food cooking class for 6 people with Pet. Had a fantastic time. The food we made (vegan red Thai curry) was delicious and Pet did a fantastic job explaining how to cook everything well and to each person's individual tastes. The mocktails we had were delicious. I would definitely consider doing another class for a different dish again.”

The food came out quickly, but still tasted fresh and well-prepared — a pleasant surprise, as "fast pub food" doesn't always have the best reputation. Not here though — no upset stomachs, just genuinely enjoyable meals. I had a generous portion of crispy chicken, which was perfectly cooked. My partner ordered the Caesar salad and said it was one of the best she’s had. The overall portion sizes were more than satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed, with background music at a comfortable volume, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The location is easy to get to, and there’s plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. All in all, The Travellers Rest is a great spot for casual dining and drinks. We'll definitely be returning.”
