Sportswear store in Southampton

“August 2025: Now moved to a new location around the corner in the former Next shop location close to JD Sports. I saw an add on my phone about a special offer at Mataland. So, I went to my local store at West Quay retail park. I went inside and was looking around for the item. I found the entire store to be really tidy and well set out as if it had just opened. I found a member of staff who, I later discovered was the manageress. I bought the item on offer and continued to look around the store. I was very impressed by everything. I don’t normally shop here but upon seeing this immaculately displayed store I will definitely be coming back again. The prices are also very good value too.”

“Today i went to jb boscom and refund my traning shoes who i bought from castelpoint After rude manger in castelpoint refused to change or refund. I had a very bad impression of jd after visiting bournemouth and castepoint branches, and the idea came to me that jd is all bad, but after I went to jd boscom and dealt with its very good manager, I knew that not all jd branches are treated the same The Boscom manager is a very good and tactful person. The smile did not leave his face, not only with regard to my treatment, but there were 2 customers before me, with the same smile and the same good treatment.”

“I bought the Goldbergh Chamonix Ski Jacket in Cream from Winternational back in February. It’s a lovely small business with excellent customer service—friendly, responsive, and really accommodating. I asked about picking up the jacket in person even though they’re online-only, and they were happy to arrange it. In the end I chose postage, and it arrived quickly. Haven’t worn the jacket yet, but the whole shopping experience was a pleasure!”

“i love this Urban Outfitter's store despite how busy it is. it's probably the cutest laid out and cosiest store i've ever been in. there are 3 levels, one for men, women, and then in the basement downstairs they sell some extra womenswear pieces and home goods (such a cute mugs and pillows, and some books, along with other small gadgety bits). staff are always super pleasant and friendly to speak to. there's always good music playing. no complaints really. if you download the UO app you can pretty much get a voucher everytime you shop there, and they do a discount for students!”

“Good store, often has discounts, staff always friendly and welcoming. Much easier to see the difference between men's and women's clothes now it's laid out back and front rather than side to side!”

“I took a visit to the Southampton JD store today. I was with my little neice and nephew. Shopping with small children can sometimes be a little stressful but the store was very calm and the staff were all so helpful. A lady called Taylor in particular was very kind and attentive and made my overall experience very pleasant. Thankyou!”

“There was plenty of parking today (Friday) and the staff were really friendly and helpful on the shop floor, if I got his name I would recommend him. The tills were a little slow but it's to be expected and our checkout operator was really nice and apologetic about the wait. This store has outdoor clothing, loads of tents to look at, fishing supplies and a whole bunch of other stuff. We picked up camping storage and snacks. The carpark is free and can be used for 2hours while in store which gives plenty of time to look at everything.”

“Had to take a jacket back as didn't fit and the barcode wouldn't scan on the till to return it. The guys in the store today at around half 1 in the afternoon(don't know the names). One guy had shoulder length hair and tattoos and the manager with tattoos on neck, arms and shaved head were so nice and helpful. I just wanted to make sure it was noted. Too many people only focus on the negatives so I wanted to make sure it was acknowledged how good the customer service was today, towards me and what lovely staff you have in the Southampton west quay store.
