βWe came for the 12 wines of Christmas on Saturday and had a great time! Rachel who ran the event was knowledgeable and friendly plus the drinks were obviously great! If it hadnβt cost us as much as the event in taxi fees we would be there regularly! Canβt wait to visit the pub in Audlem next given itβs much closer!β
βWe had the best stay at The Bay Tree Bed and Breakfast! Anita was an amazing host β so warm, welcoming, and full of great recommendations about Alton. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, and her cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious. She truly made us feel at home. I canβt wait to stay here again!β
βSpent a superb long weekend here, the cottages were cosy, clean and very well stocked in games and puzzles with full amenities for home cooked meals. Beautiful location with easy access for great hiking trails. Would definitely recommend!!β
βAMAZING!! I booked The old Parlour and Cow Shed to come with some of my closest friends to celebrate my 40th Birthday. The barns are beautiful and they have thought of all the tiny details. The bath house toiletries in particular smell incredible! They provided milk, tea and coffee to get us started as well as bath robes. We chose to add a booking on with Georgie and Co who came to the barns to provide us all with treatments. It was the best massage Iβve had in quite some time! I would highly recommend booking if you want to add some relaxation to your stay. I canβt wait to visit again! xβ
βAmazing little guest house. Room was very clean complimentary shower gel and shampoo was a nice little suprise. Room was very well equipped with hair dryer ironing board and good wifi connection. Perfect location for exploring ilam park and Thorpe Cloud and the Roaches. Also near Haddon Hall Chatsworth House and Bakewell just a short 30 min drive away. Hosts were lovely and breakfast was amazing. I am a celiac and they were more than happy to cater for me. Leek itself is a lovely little market town with plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs and nice independent shops which was very refreshing. Would definately recommend and would stay again.β
βA lovely little place with a good breakfast. I had the full English, it was well priced. The bacon was well done just like I asked for. Food was tasty and set us up for the day. We went on a Sunday morning. It opens at 8am which I think is amazing. Nice plants in the windows, nicely presented place. The staff are great, even the chefs in the back give us a smile. Would definitely recommend.β
βExcellent food venue!! Daily specials make it easy to return. Friendly staff and reasonably pricedβ recommended β β β
βThey have such a great variety. We ordered several different ones to try them all. The owner was great dealing with the crowd that he had, plus to-go ordersβ
βWe stayed at the Lamb Guest Inn as part of a wedding party. It was my husband, one year old daughter, and I. The hosts were more than genuine and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we not only had everything us adults needed, but our daughter as well. They provided a pack nβ play for her to sleep in, a high chair at breakfast, and even provided special lacto free milk for her. Everything was clean and immaculate. The breakfast was homemade to order. Some of the best food we had during our whole stay in London. The location is an easy, safe walk to all the downtown bars, restaurants, supermarket, etc. It honestly felt like we were at my grandparents house the way they took care of us. I would definitely highly recommend and look forward to hopefully staying here again.β
βFirst time to this eatery, we had a shared platter between myself and the wife and we were not disappointed. For dessert I had the walnut sponge with syrup and vanilla ice-cream, and my wife had the orange sponge with syrup and vanilla ice-cream, with deserts were excellent. We will be calling again very soon.β
βA fantastic, regularly updated menu of monster sandwiches and other good stuff, all served by friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. The Supergreek salad is top banana. Even the tea is a cut above the rest. My favourite spot for dinner in Stoke-on-Trent.β
βLovely food & good service! Fair priceβ
βLovely little theatre with a circular seating plan so sometimes the action isnβt always in front of you. Building is well maintained and everything just works well. Small car park, but the Polite Vicar is next door with another car park their. Well worth a visit.β
βWow what a lovely hidden gem took me right back to my grandma house food and drinks lovely and great serviceβ
βReally great plant-based food. Edit: Unfortunately, the owner has decided to start serving non-vegan items. This means we won't be visiting again as we can go to places like that much closer to home. I will leave my rating as is, because the food was good, and so was the service, but I would never go back due to his reaction to responses on social media - and then his ridiculous commentary in the tabloid press.β
βThe Horseshoe in Astbury is an absolute gem! The food is nothing short of amazing β beautifully cooked, full of flavor, and presented with care. Whether you're enjoying a hearty meal or a lighter option, the quality truly stands out. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming rustic vibe that makes it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring that you feel welcomed and well looked after. It's the ideal place for any occasion, whether you're dining with family, meeting friends, or just looking for a cozy escape with great food. Highly recommended!β
βGreat service by friendly staff (can confirm, old lady is lovely!). Food was brilliant and left us well satisfied but not bloated and we ordered lots!β
βHighly recommended. My daughter is coeliac and oh how she has missed a chippy. Well nothing was too much trouble at Milton chippy. From the very friendly and knowledgeable welcome to the amazing food which was generous as a portion and at a good price. All our food was delicious. Thank you for making the difference. Canβt wait to come back.β
βI am a regular at Makslam, I've loved their tasty food for so long. As a student, I'm glad that they offer discount for students (and nhs staff)! The staff are always friendly and understanding. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere!β
βmy boyfriend and i went here for lunch today, and it was an amazing experience! we are not from the area, but were traveling through and decided to stop for a quick bite to eat, and it did not disappoint! we ordered the hawaiian pizza and garlic cheesy bread, but would recommend any pizzas, very tasty! the service was wonderful, all staff was so kind and helpful! please make sure to stop here if youβre in the area, itβs worth it!β

βVisited the historical and very haunted, world famously renowned exotic eatery "Simply Bilash," with my good friend and internationally acclaimed musician Benny "Flashing-Fingers-of- the- fiery-fretboard , Reece. Established for many years now in the grade 1 listed building previous known as the Castle Tavern, the enthusiastic new owners embarked upon naming their exciting new restaurant settling on an anagram of 'Is my Ballship?' an ancient Bangladeshi greeting meaning may the fruit of your loins be productive in many lands, a metaphor for spreading the culinary delights of the motherland far and wide with as much vigour as can be mustered they came up with the beautifully elegant "Simply Bilash." The beating heart of this dynamic and mind-blowing Dhaba is the skill of the highly decorated chef. Dishes such as Fangash, a concatenation of Fanny and Gash (a famous Hyderabadi chef) a fish dish of such exotic pungency that the recipients eyes roll back with overwhelming delight. Any dish containing the words garlic or chilli are beyond the bounds that flavour alone can aspire to. These pungent offerings can rigourously engage the tongue in a spine tingling, goosebumps inducing, Mandelbrot mind warp . The side dishes are front and center. The accompanying sundries would be the "Main event" in other lesser establishments . Take the plunge, I implore you, and become a disciple of the tangy flavour of SIMPLY BILASH!β
βMehek had great food and amazing hospitality - the eggplant pakora were really tasty. Saeed was a great gentleman, he knows what heβs doing. Great little bits after visiting Alton Towers!β
βabsolute treasure in centre of Buxton! (honestly nearly didnβt pop in but sooooo glad we did) ! Delicious matcha latte and THE BEST GF Vegan cake I have ever eaten: Almond and pistachio torte. Staff are lovely and friendly and (NB we called in to a Pudding Emporium around the corner to enquire if we could have a cuppa - got extremely frosty reception) so happy to have discovered Chakra longe!β
βGreat welcome, fast service, beautifully presented and tasty food. Everything on the menu looked greatβ
βLovely quiet location. Good simple food and drinks. Reasonable prices.β

βJust WOW! Recently moved to the area & after seeing the reviews for this place we had to try & it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely stunning, as well as the service. Alberto was so lovely & our lovely waitress Issy was great! This will definitely be a regular of ours!β
