“We celebrated our daughter’s 18th birthday at The Lounge and i have to say the place was amazing. The staff and management were fantastic and catered for all our needs. The food was absolutely amazing and probably the best I’ve had for a wedding or party. All of our guests have sent messages stating they were so impressed with the food. Your amazing Chef and Service Staff definitely need a pay rise for all their hard work. If anyone requires similar set up like the pictures below please don’t hesitate ask the team to get in touch.”

“Servers were very good and food was incredible. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings and it did not disappoint. Well worth the money and experience. Staff were very nice. The ONLY gripe was that the first few courses came really fast but then had a 45 minute wait for the main. It was worth the wait but when you have a matching menu, you also run out of a drink! The water bottles are expensive so we had to wait for the main and drink.”

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel completely at home right away. Now, let’s talk about the food — because wow! The mixed grill was absolutely phenomenal. Every single item on the platter was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and packed with incredible flavor. You can really tell that the chefs take pride in their cooking. The fish was another highlight — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and grilled just right. It honestly melted in the mouth. It’s rare to find a place that nails both meat with such consistency, but Merrymaid absolutely does. The service was top-notch throughout our visit. , the food came out hot and fresh, and the servers were attentive without being intrusive. What really impressed me, though, was the personal touch — the owner, Ranjit, personally came over to our table to ask how everything was. That kind of attention and care speaks volumes about how much pride he takes in his restaurant and how much he values his customers. It’s not just a meal here — it’s an experience. Everything about this place says quality — from the cleanliness of the restaurant to the presentation of the food and the friendly, family-like vibe that makes you want to stay longer. You can tell the whole team truly cares about what they do, and it shows in every detail. We will be back to try the curry. Merrymaid Bar and Grill is the place to go. I can’t recommend it highly enough — five stars all the way! Highly recommended”

“Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday meal as we were staying in an AirBnb close by. Service was top tier, the lads were very attentive. We had a cocktail each which were both top quality, although I wish they sold lassi here. Food was beautiful, it felt a lot more authentic than your typical Indian restaurant. If you don't handle spice very well then maybe ask for recommendations as it's on the hotter side, masala chips were very spicy. Different dishes to choose from, the selection was great. Very much enjoyed it although quite pricey, came to nearly £90 for two. Would return if I was in the area”

“What a wonderful evening we had the other night. We went for dinner to rekindle our wonderful memories of this restaurant. It's where I was taken on my first date in Worcester a good few years ago. “I ordered in via Deliveroo while I was staying at The Premier Inn North Birmingham (Sutton Coldfield). Service was rapid and the food….firstly, I could not decide from the menu; everything looked delish! When I finally decided, I ordered more than I needed. Man! I just about chewed my fingers off. I loved how rich the food was. I think I got lamb and paneer spinach with naan, but it doesn’t even matter. Just check out the photos. Now I’m hungry (just for this food).”

“First time I came here to celebrate my friend’s 60th birthday. Very easy to find, right opposite pigeon park, where St Philip’s Cathedral is. Name of restaurant is big and clear, and can’t be missed. I arrived early and was greeted by Astrida, who was lovely! I was holding a big bunch of flowers, which she kindly put away for me and she instantly made me feel very welcome. Tamarah was also very friendly. As I sat and waited for my friends to arrive, I was approached by every member of staff, who asked me if I wanted a drink whilst I was waiting. The customer service was just brilliant! The interior of the restaurant is very stylish and the toilets are posh! The only negative comment I have is that I ordered a main meal (I can’t remember what it was called, but it was newly added to the menu - pasta, white sauce). The proportion of this meal was not enough for it to be served as a main meal. It was something you would expect if you ordered a starter. Proportions of other meals might be ok, but not for this meal. I will still give this restaurant 5 stars as we had a great time, but please take my comments on board, as customers want good value for money.”

Friendly and welcoming staff, restaurant nicely decorated and big screen TVs all around so great for having a meal and beers while watching the sports. Quick turnaround from placing the order to food being served on the table. Large mixed grill would happily do three people.”

“What a meal! Simply stunning food. The Church should be sold out every day such is the quality of the food here, I can't believe it wasn't busier. Everything we had was superb, but the beef Sunday roast was one of the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time. We were very greedy and shared three starters too, which were all delicious but probably a bit too much food in total for just the two of us. Nevermind, nothing went to waste! My only criticism was the toasted sourdough was a bit crispy, and I'd have loved the scotch egg to have a runny yolk. But these are minor points in an otherwise perfect meal with faultless service from the great staff.”

“I was told of this place by a friend and thought I would check it out. The decor is nothing to shout about as it is a local pub and is a bit rough & ready but the food is on another level. Since my first visit, I have been a few times now and have always chosen the Lion Special Family Grill which has never let me down. The thing that amazes me is the speed at which the food comes out. I don’t think I have had to wait more than 10-15 minutes before the food is at our table. The naan breads are made fresh and are lovely and soft. The masala fries and momo’s are also very good. There is plenty of choice on the mixed grill with a choice of seekh kebabs, grilled chicken, fried fish, fried prawns and some lamb chops to top it off. We always have some left over to take home. The price is also very good as it will cost you no more than £40 for a family of four. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Keep up the good work guys!”

“A fantastic themed pub and restaurant aimed 1920s. Peaky Blinders memorabilia Authentic throughout and always clean. Weekend the Peaky Blinders go all out in dress and dance. Extremely welcoming and inclusive to all. Staff are amazing, polite and always happy to go the extra mile. My steak is cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Although not completely in keeping the smart tables are a great addition. I’ve found them really helpful for charging the mobile. I highly recommend a visit”

Everything comes hot and not microwaved. They're a polite, honest establishment that makes a truly decent curry. Prices are an absolute bargain also! Hospitable staff and two levels to sprawl yourself over whilst enjoying a nice cup of joe and feasting on some pancakes if you’re lucky enough to be there on a Tuesday. Hot latte costs 2.9 pounds and there’s a bathroom on site. They also have a bottomless brunch if you’re brave enough to participate on the weekends for 22.5 all day long! #BeatTheGrind”

I stopped in for breakfast and after a delicious 2 cheese, mushroom and bacon (veggie options are abundant too) omelette, I'm now ready to power on through my day. The moreish cakes on offer certainly didn't pass me by either, perfect with my second cup of tea.”

“I have to leave a review for this pub as it’s our regular, honestly one of the best pubs I’ve been to… The service is 10/10 and the atmosphere is incredible, all staff are friendly and Sam is very attentive and makes sure you’re well catered for. “Greta place for a mixed grill! Been here a few times with family and friends. We love sharing the mixed grills and seafood mixed grills. Good variety of meat choices on the grill, cooked to perfection and super tasty. Staff are very friendly and the chef is the star of the show. Often comes out to greet customers and check they are enjoying their food which is a nice touch. Can’t wait to go back!”
