“Lovely little pub positioned at the top end of Rottingdean. The decor is great and has a comfortable feeling about it. It also has a lovely pub garden. Great food menu choices. There is also a great selection of beers and wine. I can personally recommend the Sunday roast it was excellent. Service was excellent and attentive. Highly recommended.”
“Absolutely fab cafe. Step free access and helpful staff. You can sit outside in nice weather or there's plenty of room indoors when it's not.”
“Definitely a go to. A nice atmosphere and well decorated making it feel homely. Staff are brilliant and have a cracking sense of humour a great place to have a drink and a laugh. Karaoke on a Saturday which is great always a fun night! Quiz on a Sunday a great way to end the week. Will always return ☺️”
“Really good selection of beers on tap. We had the Lunch meal was really nice, some of the nicest Thai food I've ever had! The Pad Kra Prao was very authentic. Only £13.50 for starter and main for lunch is hard to find in brighton, especially for something of such great value! Overall a really lovely experience with friendly staff, will definitely be returning.”
“Love this place, although I'm now in recovery....they do alcohol free opinions.”
“I've just moved into the area and this is my local pub. Lots going on, clean and tidy. It's clear the owners/management are working really hard to maintain a proper community pub and it would be great to see it busier.”
“We had our sons first birthday at the kings head on a busy Saturday 1pm for 20 people and a few kids, they were so accommodating and went out their way to make the party perfect. All staff were super helpful and welcoming and Ollie was great. Really recommend this cosy pub for a party or just for drinks.”
“I organised a lunch for 20 people in the private dining room and had a wonderful experience. The staff were brilliant, proactive and quick to response, helping me from the very start with all the logistics and organising. On the day, they styled the room beautifully, service was fantastic and food was amazing. Really tasty seasonal ingredients and great value. All of my guests were so impressed. Thank you to the team, especially Meghan, for all their help!”
“A crowd of us visited for Sunday lunch and had a great time. Most of us had the Sunday lunch which was enjoyed by us all - tasty and plentiful. The other food ordered was just as good. The girl who served (forget her name unfortunately) us was lovely - friendly and helpful. Only downside was lack of real ales choices. 4 pumps and only 2 in use - and one serving the ubiquitous bland Doom Bar. That said we all had a great time and would definitely return”
“A good old fashioned pub, where you don't feel pressurised to buy a meal to have a pint or two. In fact they don't even serve food. Friendly local pub.”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rockwater Bar and Grill. The food was amazing all the service staff were friendly and tended to our every need. I made a request to make my wife’s birthday extra special and they went above and beyond. I live 250 miles away but be sure the next time I’m in Brighton I’ll be back!! Rock on Rockwater!!”
“It's a great place, sorry to the staff for bringing in a drunk friend but they are amazing, they can deal with drunk people amazingly and when you're not a drunk idiot they can hold a good conversation! Sorry if in as a mix, I hope the staff have a lovely night!”
“Really need to sort out the bar staff. Old blonde or white hair woman always miserable. Always rude. Doesn't like what you put on jukebox only wants what she likes. Killed my mental health suffering daughters confidence by saying rude comments about her singing and music. Me and my daughter have had to quit darts cause of this. Absolutely disgusted.”
“Saw a footy match here with some friends. Close to the train station and big screens for the sport. Nice beer too.”
“Simply excellent, food is sumptuous, staff very helpful and friendly. The menu is varied and the staff offer a great explanation of the choices also if you have any allergies too. Highly recommend this location for a business meal or family meal.”
“We visited a couple of weeks ago on our way back from Eastbourne and had a lovely time! Beautiful and welcoming place, with fairy lights outside that makes you want to go in. Nice and relaxing atmosphere and both waiters were great. Food was delish and affordable and it came out quickly. We will definitely be coming back!”
“Friday Saturdays are amazing filled with laughter karaoke and much more worth the visit !! Especially the pub mascots Jamie and Rodger !!”
“Decided to visit for the first time as I heard about a Karaoke taking place here, which was brilliant fun. This is a great pub overall with a really good nice friendly atmosphere. Will be returning again soon to sing more songs on the Karaoke, and maybe even check out the live entertainment and Open Mic nights they have here too.”
“Basic Wetherspoons. The building is quite ordinary and the layout is one big rectangle on the ground floor the toilets miles away as usual. Staff and locals and friendly. Good mix of tables and booths. Don’t spend too long choosing your coffee or you’ll get some tutting directed at you. Enjoy!”
“excellent experience eating here. reasonable prices, pleasant ambiance. staff friendly & 'on the ball' very swift service. Had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce, champ & green veg. thank you.”
“Booked in for 1 night and paid £350 for a room without breakfast included (wow) (without a balcony) which was such a shame as we’d walked 12 miles to this hotel so we could have a room looking over the beach. The room we actually got was a large well designed room in the roof of the second floor. I went down to ask if we could swap rooms and it was a stern no. They are all booked. Fair enough, slightly moody receptionist. But our evening got exceedingly better as Nathan served us in the restaurant on the veranda and he was such a lovely man. So attentive and actually cared. We had a really lovely 3 course meal with cocktails because he was so good at his job. I actually wanted to eat elsewhere because I didn’t think the lady on reception gave a hoot about our stay. Thankfully we didn’t, the chicken skewers were so good and the fish was moist and fluffy. Really good chef. Cheese board was a delight and the chocolate dessert. Scott enjoyed an old fashion and mojito all really great quality. Nathan made our day by being funny polite and just really good at what he does. Thank you”
“Huge pub with lots of different rooms and a beautiful garden”
“Had a really delicious lunch here today. The curry, chunky chips, Caramel Apple Betty desert was of great proportion, delivered with a smile by the friendly waitress called Jess. My daughter had the open chicken chibatta with chunky chips followed by ice cream with chocolate flake & wafer. Washed down with the refillable diet coke & Fanta Orange. All in all, it was a lovely meal and didn't break the bank.”
“Dunno what all the others are complaining about. Very nice vegan and non-vegan food well presented, quite cheap, unbeatable views and chilled vibe. Absolutely perfect for a nice meal and drink on the beach. Spectacular views. Will happily come again.”
“Great food, some nice options for vegans.”
“If you’re looking for a classic takeaway that hits all the right notes, Fish and Chips to takeaway is your go-to in Brighton. the batter came out crispy and golden, not soggy or over-greased. The chips are great: fluffy inside and perfect outside Now, the sausage in batter deserves its own praise. The batter mirrors the crisp of the fish, light enough not to overwhelm, yet sturdy enough to hold its shape. Inside, the sausage is juicy and well-flavoured — not one of those limp, rubbery ones. Takeaway service is friendly and efficient; you won’t wait forever, but you get the sense they care about what they dish out. Everything is wrapped up well so it arrives still hot and tasty. Overall, a highly satisfying takeaway — perfect for a comfort food fix, especially when you want proper batter, good fish, and a sausage that doesn’t disappoint.”
“Brilliant place just a shame it's no longer a pub”
