“What a fantastic little country pub. Food is absolutely delicious (particularly the roast tatties...!) Staff are very welcoming and friendly, Chris the landlord is a charmer such a nice chap, makes the pub feel like a home. Out of all the pubs in Alfriston, The Six Bells is by far the best and least pretentious. Proper English pub overlooking the church serving great food, beers, wines and spirits. Will definitely be back...!”

“Have passed by here for years and not found time to stop. Made time today and had an amazing birthday meal. Curry goat was amazing, my wife's pork chop was enormous, tender and beautifully cooked. My son's steak gorgeous and apparently the cheeseburger was the best my daughter has ever had. Fantastic staff too, so friendly and happy to answer any queries. Great local beers too. Great to see a small local place so busy”

“We went to the green man in Ringmer on Friday night. It was busy as usual but we managed to book a table for the 8 of us. As per usual the service and food was amazing. You get decent size portions for a very reasonable price. It’s one of our go to restaurants. Can never fault the place, always great food and service.”

“Was here last weekend and popped in for a snack . Great staff here who were attentive but not in your face. It's a great winter pub a proper country gem but also amazing in Spring and Summer with it's awesome garden and views over the Sussex countryside. Good was great and just a great place to go. Thanks for a lovely time. The group who run this pub also run The Bohemian in Eastbourne and in the Towner light again both atmospheric places with Good food and wonderful service.”

“My mother and I visited this place on the 09.10.25 during lunch time hours. We were greeted with a beautiful smile form a young lady that was very happy passionate and welcoming. She designated a very nice table with a good view by the window overlooking the best view. All other staff were very kind and attentive including the restaurant owner . The atmosphere was nice with great menu selection and very good music playing in the background. The young lady was efficient and always took care of my mother's needs and even spoke in my mother's mother tongue spanish. The food was great, always well presented and very delicious. We had alot of fish dishes and they were tasty and well cooked . Overall it was a very pleasant experience lovely restaurant very clean on a beautiful sunny day. Upon existing the restaurant we were very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of everyone working that day.Also the lady owner was actually near the entrance she very nicely spoke to us briefly with a smile and said our goodbyes. “Came for dinner on Sat night. I've been coming here for years, and have always loved it. Dinner on Sat was perfect, Catherine our waiter was on point, attentive and charming. The bar guys kept our glasses full and gave great recommendations. Every dish was seasoned and balanced, the kitchen nailed it! Cant wait to come back. Thanks again.”

“Been out walking and just called in on the off chance as hadn’t booked. Was really busy but they fitted us in without a fuss - thanks. Had the Sunday roast (beef of course) and was not disappointed - it was fabulous! Bella took our order and a young lass with blonde hair served us (Jenni? I think, sorry didn’t get her name). We could see it was busy and the staff were busy but they kept an eye out for everyone. Really pleased we called in & will call in again next time we are in the area. Thank you.”

“A great little Bar-Restaurant located not far from the River Adur. It has a decent variety of local beers, ales, and gins. There was a reasonable amount of indoor and outdoor seating for its size. With outdoor seating, it leaves you in a great atmosphere, especially when the sun is shining and the nice cool breeze from the river hits you. The food I had was very tasty and freshly cooked. There's a good mixture of choices of options on the menu depending on your preferences. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. The number of toilet facilities was fairly limited for both male and females. Overall, everything was fairly priced. I had a pleasant experience on this visit, so I would definitely like to visit again.”

“A brilliant independent local countryside pub that still has character, unlike a lot of the bigger brewery chain pubs. Comfortable seating and plenty of space alongside a clean and well maintained interior with the option to sit outside if the weather's good. We came as a table of 5 for dinner, and the service was quick and attentive. The portion sizes generous and value for money were good overall. The burgers and sticky toffee pudding were both brilliant, and there were good words spoken about the Liver and Bacon as well as the Irish coffees, too! Specials boards change regularly, and with drinks, mains, and desserts, we still spent just under £30 per person, including service charge. It's definitely worth checking out and supporting your local”

“This was my first visit here (I had only had a brief look around on a few days earlier) and it was great. You can order very easily from the different kitchens using a QR code from your table and enjoy the sea views and music. My food from temaki (Japanese kitchen) was delicious and presented beautifully. Good prices for the quality. Lovely friendly staff.”

“Had lunch with my young family and had the Sunday burgers. There was good selection of burgers too cater for the stuff tastes and on Sunday they have a £10 offer. The cabin fries are also a must try. Would happily go again and enjoy their beer garden”
