“I don’t often go for a curry but my partner is looking to move to the area and is a huge fan so booked The Tandoori as I’d heard it had recently been refitted and I knew they also had an alcohol licence as some others in town don’t. The restaurant was warm and cosy, the service was swift and attentive. Not being a curry regular, I explained to the waiter what I liked and let him suggest something for me to try - my partner and I were not disappointed, really tasty food, great portion sizes and my partner really liked their choice of crockery - may have found a new place to eat in town, We’ll definitely go back. I highly recommend if you’ve not been before.”

“They do the best curries I can find. I will sometimes try different restaurants if uber eats has an offer, but always end up disappointed. The food here is always really tasty, with good portions. I also love the offer of 10% off with collection (£15 or over).”

“We normally go to Spice or BOA for a curry but there was no space at spice so we decided to give this one a shot. We didnt know it existed before now. It was very quiet in the restaurant but the guy was really friendly. The food was really tasty - one of the best i've had actually. We since got a takeaway and I got a 'usual' and it was hot and again so good. I don't normally eat much of the sauce but had to stop myself licking the pot. I don't know if there is a new chef since the lower ratings but it's well worth trying if you like flavour. We'll be choosing this one in future. I don't write that many reviews but I feel the location is a bit out of the way to put people off trying. Don't make that mistake.”

“Decent food, good portions and reasonable price. The men's toilets are a huge let down and will not bring friends or family to eat in again until they are sorted although they look like they have been neglected for a very long time. UPDATE. Toilets sorted soon after this review. 5 stars given”

“For whatever reason I had never given Bengal spice a chance, after recommendations I tried it tonight, and I have to admit not only was it better value for money, it was better quality than others I have tried, with generous portions, quality ingredients, value for money and fast delivery (shout out to the delivery driver prepared with the appropriate change and really friendly) you guys have gained another regular customer, just brilliant.”

“On a busy Friday night food was ready for collection on time and was piping hot. Mixed kebab starter was delicious, Lamb Rezela was cooked to order (medium) The nan breads were perfect, we will definitely use this as our local Indian takeaway now. Prices aren't too bad ours was 32.00 for 2 starters 2 mains 2 nans 1 rice.”

“We have visited this restaurant under two previous owners but this was our first visit under the new management but it won't be the last. We had a lovely relaxed meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The restaurant has been refurbished and looks clean and modern. The food was cooked fresh to order and was absolutely delicious. My chicken was marinated in spices and cooked in the tandoori oven and the naan was soft and fragrant. Service was attentive but not too overbearing. With drinks the meal worked out just under £30 a head but we considered it good value. Well worth a visit.”

“Great food delivered hot and exactly on time by a very friendly driver. We were not easy to find. Moist chicken tikka and mixed kebab starters both with lovely sources. Both mains were full of flavour, moist and flavourful. I would definitely order again and recommend to anyone. Thank you.”

“After a couple of drinks in the Stumble Inn tonight, we pre ordered a takeaway from Avon Spice. It was ready bang on time and was one of the best Indian takeaways we have had in a very long time. Great way to finish our holiday.”

“Always use this place. Best curry I've ever had. Tryed others but never been like this place. Is little on pricey side but we'll worth that extra for what you get. Always comes really hot and really fast delivery. Had chicken korma Lamb tikka masala 2 chips 2 rice 2 pompadoms And a garlic bread meat thing for price of £39.40 which for taste don't seem to bad.”

We tried the mixed grill, and it was absolutely delicious. You could tell the food was fresh, none of that frozen meat you get at many other Indian restaurants. “Absolutely stunning setting beautiful lights and amazingly laid out tables the food absolutely delectable my favourite place to eat went unexpectedly with friend one server really stood out and had amazing service it's brilliant to see younger people working in our communities I really did just have the perfect time their chicken korma was my favourite will definitely be going back again I honestly couldn't go anywhere better it's not most people first place to go but it really should be will never say anything bad about them their chips were just top impeccable I have never eaten anything like them before food was cooked to perfection nothing was raw or overcooked their chef must be brilliant and really kind staff overall also it is very clean and you see them clean up everything multiple time to be at the top of standards”

“Very good food. 2 adults and 2 kids. Sat in the restaurant. The Nan breads were great. Tandoori mixed starter delicious. The butter chicken and Dansak were very tasty. The seating area is a little on the cafe style rather than the restaurant end but the price for the food was spot on. Thanks”

“I eat here regularly and the food is always good and prices very reasonable. For the same price are mcdonalds you can get 100x better food here. The chapli kebab, Naam, tandoori chicken, pilav rice and curries are all fantastic. The staff always treat me very well and do a very good job, they work very hard. The manager should be proud of them.”

“Really nice chicken katsu curry. £11.50 is extremely reasonable for the big portion you get and I enjoy it! Can’t say I’ve ever had authentic katsu curry to compare this to but I like the dish enough that I’ve gone back for it a couple times. Also interesting to note that I can eat it despite having terrible spice tolerance. I asked the lady at checkout if this dish was meant to be spicy and she said no - I ordered it and although I did find it spicy, I somehow enjoyed it? Usually if something is spicy to me I cannot eat it at all but I ate the whole plate. Just an extra bonus that this dish is helping me develop my tolerance lol!”

“First time here and was not disappointed. Great variety of food and, despite the menu size, everything we ordered was top notch. It was nice to see a beer I hadn't encountered before, Bangla, which complemented the meal very well. I love that this place was fairly busy on a Monday when most restaurants, including mine, wouldn't dream of opening on such a quiet day. Spice Mahal truly represents the paradigm we should all aim for, with regular repeat customers driving consistent and new business alike.”
