“For whatever reason I had never given Bengal spice a chance, after recommendations I tried it tonight, and I have to admit not only was it better value for money, it was better quality than others I have tried, with generous portions, quality ingredients, value for money and fast delivery (shout out to the delivery driver prepared with the appropriate change and really friendly) you guys have gained another regular customer, just brilliant.”

“A busy Saturday night in a quaint underground restaurant that reminded me of the Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars. Private booths with incredible service and fantastic food. I couldn't recommend anywhere better to have Indian food whilst in Bath!”

“My wife and I and our spaniel Bella spent an amazing evening and overnight stay at the Clachan. All the staff were friendly, attentive and utterly charming. This place is an absolute dog friendly gem. We fined on the bar and had a fabulous supper. My wife plumped for the tandoori monkfish with a side dish of Bombay potato. She’s still waxing about it. I had the fish which was great, but wish I’d gone for the baby lemon sole! The ales were in tip too condition too. And my food and drink bill was very reasonable in the current climate!! Breakfast was fabulous too, and all served with a smile. Bella slept like a log too. It’s a 50 minute drive off the M74 if you are headed north or south and looking for an overnight stop, but it’s worth every mile. I would say booking is essential for room and food. We wish the owners - the landlady and chef - all the best for their upcoming nuptials. You put a smile on the face of two travel weary oldies. Thank you. Mike & Chris”

“Delicious food, amazing mocktails and great service! We had a pleasant experience at the coconut tree, our server Ash was very attentive and gave us recommendations. The portion sizes may not look big but they do fill you up very quickly. The calamari in particular was the star of the show! We’d love to come back to try the other half of the menu.”

“I would like to thank the staff for being so helpful I would say they went above and beyond, after placing a large order for collection not realising I had placed the order with the wrong restaurant in a different town. The staff arranged to drive half way to meet us with order and on arrival home the food was still hot all our party enjoyed the food ordered if I lived closer would definitely use this restaurant again, I would definitely recommend this restaurant service was outstanding and food to match”

“We normally go to Spice or BOA for a curry but there was no space at spice so we decided to give this one a shot. We didnt know it existed before now. It was very quiet in the restaurant but the guy was really friendly. The food was really tasty - one of the best i've had actually. We since got a takeaway and I got a 'usual' and it was hot and again so good. I don't normally eat much of the sauce but had to stop myself licking the pot. I don't know if there is a new chef since the lower ratings but it's well worth trying if you like flavour. We'll be choosing this one in future. I don't write that many reviews but I feel the location is a bit out of the way to put people off trying. Don't make that mistake.”

“I don’t often go for a curry but my partner is looking to move to the area and is a huge fan so booked The Tandoori as I’d heard it had recently been refitted and I knew they also had an alcohol licence as some others in town don’t. The restaurant was warm and cosy, the service was swift and attentive. Not being a curry regular, I explained to the waiter what I liked and let him suggest something for me to try - my partner and I were not disappointed, really tasty food, great portion sizes and my partner really liked their choice of crockery - may have found a new place to eat in town, We’ll definitely go back. I highly recommend if you’ve not been before.”

“We have visited this restaurant under two previous owners but this was our first visit under the new management but it won't be the last. We had a lovely relaxed meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The restaurant has been refurbished and looks clean and modern. The food was cooked fresh to order and was absolutely delicious. My chicken was marinated in spices and cooked in the tandoori oven and the naan was soft and fragrant. Service was attentive but not too overbearing. With drinks the meal worked out just under £30 a head but we considered it good value. Well worth a visit.”

“Really nice chicken katsu curry. £11.50 is extremely reasonable for the big portion you get and I enjoy it! Can’t say I’ve ever had authentic katsu curry to compare this to but I like the dish enough that I’ve gone back for it a couple times. Also interesting to note that I can eat it despite having terrible spice tolerance. I asked the lady at checkout if this dish was meant to be spicy and she said no - I ordered it and although I did find it spicy, I somehow enjoyed it? Usually if something is spicy to me I cannot eat it at all but I ate the whole plate. Just an extra bonus that this dish is helping me develop my tolerance lol!”

“We visited Tuk Tuk as we’d heard their Korean Fried chicken was delicious and it certainly was, it was the highlight of our meal. The beef brisket boa buns were also delicious, the meat fell apart. The chicken dumplings were tasty, personally we prefer fried ones, although they had a slight crisp on the bottom and for steamed dumplings they were the tastiest I’ve had. The sauce with them was also very nice, in other places I’ve found it too acidic but it was the perfect balance and really added to the flavour. Friends ordered the prawn bites and salt and pepper squid which they both enjoyed. They also had the katsu fries, the sauce was really good, although they did find the powder on top had quite a kick to it (it’s not listened on the menu so if you want it mild ask them to leave this off). We also shared the yakitori, Japanese style chicken teriyaki skewers which we wouldn’t order again. It tasted fine but we all felt we were expecting more from the dish and compared to everything else was just okay. The chicken pieces are small so you get more for your money from the other dishes portion or taste wise. Service was great, the staff were friendly and attentive. One friend requested no peanuts on her chicken, a preference, but they were good to straight away check no allergies. We pre booked online on the day, it was quick and easy to do. We visited 6:30 on a Saturday evening, most others were walks ins and it was fairly busy. The food came out quickly and nice and fresh and hot.”

“First time here and was not disappointed. Great variety of food and, despite the menu size, everything we ordered was top notch. It was nice to see a beer I hadn't encountered before, Bangla, which complemented the meal very well. I love that this place was fairly busy on a Monday when most restaurants, including mine, wouldn't dream of opening on such a quiet day. Spice Mahal truly represents the paradigm we should all aim for, with regular repeat customers driving consistent and new business alike.”

Shout out to RC who is an amazing character The food was delicious, highly recommend the Chui Jhal Mutton, or the Desi Butter chicken, both were just as good as each other. “I have been eating at and getting take aways from this restaurant regularly for at least 10 years. The food is excellent and highly consistent, neither is it expensive. The service is super polite, friendly and personal. I simply cannot believe that anyone would leave a bad review for this restaurant. The best Dhansak in Bristol! Honestly, it is worth travelling for this restaurant. If you normally get a take away from these guys, try eating in. The nan bread is much more crispy. Keep up the excellent work guys x”
