“Excellent on all counts: Food, Service, Atmosphere and Prices. The House Salad is more than enough on its own. There are quite a number of Small / Independent Coffee Houses & Eateries in Cardiff City Centre, But this is One of the Best and as someone has already stated 'A Hidden Gem". Recommended without hesitation.”
“This is a wonderful venue, huge choice, excellent quality and good portions. Staff are so welcoming and always extremely friendly. Been coming here for many years and will continue to do so. Well worth a visit.”
“Went for breakfast this morning at 9.30am and I was so impressed! The food was delicious and good value for the quality they are offering. The lady who served us was so welcoming and helpful. We had children with us and she was really good with them and tailored our order. The mystery to me is why it was quiet. There was one other table occupied when we we there and as we left at 11am another table was being taken. The Gallery is clearly Barry’s best kept secret and really deserves to be busy because the food and service and surroundings are perfect. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to everyone.”
“I popped in for the first time this morning. This is a really pleasant and friendly coffee shop. I had 2 excellent and hot cappuccinos. A nice panini too. I then took 3 cookie cakes for my kids and I to share. Wow. They taste so so good. Recommend the choc orange!!!”
“I was visiting Cardiff for a few weeks from Canada, and during my stay this quickly became my go-to spot. Their coffee was excellent and the atmosphere inside was very cozy, but what really made it special was the incredible staff. They welcomed me every day with friendly conversation and genuine kindness. Their Biscoff banana bread is also delicious! If you're in Cardiff, be sure to stop by!”
“1st visit to caf3 and I've got to say it will be a regular thing now. Food was absolutely amazing and the black pudding was the best I've ever had. The staff were polite and really good with both my children. It's very rare to find a place that has really good food and kind staff. Thank you. Both boys enjoyed the bananas and lollys x”
“A wonderful pub with very friendly staff and customers. Was made to feel welcome as always. Look forward to our next visit.”
“Amazing vegan food for a great value. Dog friendly and the staffs were very kind. We had a chicken tikka mayo sandwich and it was very flavourful.”
“Lovely place to visit to walk or let the kids burn of steam in the park. Cafe, toilets visitor centre open throughout the week for hire of peddle cars mini golf ect check times though ❤️”
“Staff was friendly. Lemon Rosemary iced tea -refreshing! Chocolate Avacado Vegan cake- YUM! Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa -amazing!”
“Wonderful coffee shop and great atmosphere. Latte was exactly as it should be - not something you can say about chains. Friendly staff and a charming , relaxed atmosphere. Making a real effort with live music and I’m sure their plans to broaden into other forms of entertainment and community activities will make this a really exciting place to be. 5 stars all the way!”
“Insole Court is a great venue for events. We always have good feedback when we do something here. People are often surprised by the beautiful buildings and extensive gardens and grounds hidden in the suburb of Llandaff. We have also found the staff to be welcoming and very helpful. Highly recommended!”
“Came her to watch Cardiff Canucks. Staff lovely and friendly, really nice place so we did return. Food can but a little hit/miss but service quick and friendy”
“This park has something for everyone! Great for cycling and rollerblading on the wide paths. There are outdoor fitness equipment stations, tennis courts, and even a small cafe. It's the heart of the community—always buzzing with life, yet you can always find a quiet corner. Love it here!”
“I visited the Packet on a Monday afternoon. It made a nice change from all the (Mostly) big name places to eat in the Bay. A 160 year old traditional pub with a good selection of drinks, friendly chatty staff, and a small outside garden, only a few minutes walk from the main bay area. If you are looking for a traditional drinking pub in the bay area, away from the hustle and bustle of the big restaurants in the bay, I would strongly recommend this Pub.”
“Fabulous lunch on Sunday, went with the family and had the turkey dinner. It was absolutely stunning, followed by a really good espresso martini, will definitely be going again.”
“Popped in for a quick pint ( SA high recommended) stayed to watch some sport.( choice of TVs ) Ordered Fish n Chips. Without doubt the best I’ve had in a long time. Pubs got a great atmosphere and friendly staff - what more do you want from a city centre pub. I can see why it’s such an iconic pub in the heart of the city”
“Had a fantastic lunch at Miller & Carter. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were attentive. The lunch menu had a great selection and everything was cooked perfectly – fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The steak was especially tender and full of flavour, and the sides complemented it perfectly. A lovely experience overall, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality meal in the city centre.”
“Great service only surpassed by the quality of the food. Had the sharing lamb as a main , with prawn croquettes and sourdough to start. The tables are spaced out, the service not intrusive and the general atmosphere was good. Look forward to eating there again.”
“Hollie & Lili were amazing! Bottomless brunch for my cousins hen party. Drinks were tasty. Thank you for a fabulous time.”
“Took my niece here today, my sister recommended this place before as an amazing alternative bar, popped in and Romi Lane was playing live she was brilliant, overall a great atmosphere and vibe! Staff friendly and professional, definitely have to go again.”
“Lovely place to visit. It's only a smallish pier easy to walk to end and back. The pier is beautifuly looked after and well maintained, public toilets on the pier were clean and well maintained. The tide was out on our visit. picture of the support legs, all the other pictures included me so not posted”
“Really lovely, quiet little pub with decent food, well cooked and nicely presented. The lunch menu is also really good value. If we are passing though again we will definitely return.”
“We visited yesterday and I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread. I have to say these poached eggs were the best I have ever tasted in my life. They were cooked to absolute perfection. The yolks were perfect, just the right consistency and totally delicious. I'm not a great fan of the white preferring the yolk, but these whites were delicious too. The addition of the sourdough bread as opposed to ordinary bread added to the taste also. I don't know how your chef made this simple meal so exquisite, but please pass on my compliments to him/her. My husband enjoyed his omelette too. Will be back!”
“I had a wonderful lunch with my 2 sons at the Cwm Talwg today. I hadn’t booked a table but staff thankfully found a table for us. Lots of choice on the menu so was hard to decide !! From entering to leaving the staff were attentive and super friendly. Our orders taken promptly and food served after a short wait, staff checked twice that our meals were ok. We had no complaints !! They were delicious. I don’t think the Cwm Talwg gets the recognition it deserves which is a shame as the food was lovely. We will definitely be back. I’d recommend trying this place”
“Managed to get in for Sunday dinner today with the wife. Absolutely beautiful beef dinner. The meat melted in the mouth, and the roast potatoes and carrots were divine, cauliflower cheese, and broccoli with garden peas and gorgeous beef gravy Very fast service by very friendly happy staff. My apple pie and ice cream polished off a meal. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend you visit if you're in the area. I've been again on Sunday, and I went for the ultimate combo today. Wow, absolutely beautiful, nice 8oz rump steak some chicken breast and a beautiful rack of ribs. The chips were stunning, and the portions were plentiful. The onion rings were lovely. A very well presented meal that I can personally recommend if you have a good appetite.”
“Great place for food. Lovely staff. Excellent service. Would recommend.”
“So it turns out that there’s more than one of these cafes and this one is great too. Location is fantastic on the corner of Victoria Park and the corner position is ideal for catching some sun on a nice day. Food and coffee is excellent with the savoury Welsh cakes being a signature option here and at the Roath location. Really friendly staff - shout out to Robin for a lovely conversation with my breakfast. They also had posters up for Dirty Gnocchi doing evening food there, so we will definitely be back for that. Unexpected in this location but definitely recommended. There’s also parking outside, which is at a premium in this area.”
“Great coffee shop, serving lovely coffee. Friendly staff and an even friendlier dog (Think his name was Ted) giving a great welcome.”
“I had a couple of coffees and an almond croissant, and everything was delicious. I was served by a young guy in glasses who kindly explained the coffee beans and provided service with a smile. I would recommend.”
