“The best Italian food I've had outside of Italy and one of the best meals I've had in the last 20 years. Incredible dishes, served beautifully. Spectacular flavours. Vegetarian dishes available. A small number of beautifully flavoursome desserts. The staff were outstanding, kind, and hospitable. We were brilliantly looked after. If you haven't been, I can't recommend it enough. I already can't wait to go back. A wonderful little restaurant just outside the city centre. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. My wife and I just returned to celebrate our anniversary, and, once again, the food and service was incredible. This has become our favourite restaurant. 100% recommended.”

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were rich and full of depth, and the pizza tasted just like in Italy – fresh, flavorful, and made with the finest ingredients. “Popped in this evening, 4 of us (2 children) and had a wonderful meal! We had a mix of starters and mains and everything was delicious! Best hummus, vine leaves were tasty, salmon perfectly cooked. Can't fault anything and we are all looking forward to going back! Great value as well!”

We always love the food and service is consistently brilliant, however today in particular was really busy, but Lille was attentive, kind and was still smiling and chatty despite the rush. “We visited Vittorios on a Tuesday evening. Lovely atmosphere, with family celebrations taking place and other groups of people. So despite being early on in the week, and not a weekend, it was still busy, demonstrating it is a firm favourite amongst customers. The staff were, I’m assuming family, and you could get that family run vibe whilst there, which added to the positive experience we had. Staff were attentive, whilst Also giving space and privacy to enjoy our food. Earlier the previous week, unbeknown to me my husband had spoken with Vittorios to arrange a ‘quiet area’ to sit down, so that he could propose to me to renew our wedding vows. We were placed in a quieter area, and my husbands request was managed discreetly without me catching on. Our wine was being brought to our table mid proposal and the young lad bringing it completed a 180 degree turn so fast to give us the space and privacy during the special moment. I couldn’t fault him for this and was impressed by the service we received. They congratulated us afterwards and gave us a complimentary celebratory dessert which was unexpected, but a really lovely touch. All food was hot, delicious and there were large portions. This restaurant is a local gem in Newport, and we are very grateful to have a created a treasured memory during our visit there. 10/10 service, food, and value for money. “We arrived thinking it was a sit down restaurant (duh!), but decided to do takeaway anyway. Fantastic food, generous portions, wonderful friendly service. They went to the trouble of making a special chickpea side dish for us (as vegetarians) which was amazing. We were provided with cutlery and napkins and went off with our food to a local part with fantastic views over Barry and the sea. What's not to love?”

“Have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Menu changes constantly but never a bad meal. Always choices of exotic meats as well as the staples such as steak and chicken. Staff always friendly and happy to let you know where and what each dish on specials menu consists of. Will happily change choice of sauce if you prefer different to menu.”

“Really nice little cafe, not too busy on a Sunday afternoon and service was friendly without the, "hey guys everything okay?" every 20 minutes. I had a wrap and chose the side salad over chips, the dressing in the side salad was really tasty and my wrap was properly full. Peach ice tea tasted like a proper peach tea rather than a peach syrup concoction. Good selection of drinks in the fridge (was excited to see glass bottles of pop!) as well as hot drinks and smoothies on offer. My friend and I shared a slice of pistachio cake after and that was really tasty, too. Keen to come back and try a breakfast ☺️”

“This place is great! Passed it at lunchtime on the way back from the Barry recycling centre. Friendly staff, good menu, good value, clean and most importantly, very tasty food! Even little things like having bamboo cups instead of plastic was a nice touch.”

“First time visiting Bragu Cafe. Ordered the maxi breakfast, kids breakfast, English tea & a Nutella hot chocolate. Food was delicious, especially the spicy sausage & chicken bacon. Everything was cooked to perfection & I'm very particular about how my food's cooked. Modern clean interior, reasonably priced food & drink and good customer service. Will definitely be back!”

“After a long camping trip in Wales, we stopped in Newport before heading back home. We randomly parked in front of a restaurant that caught our attention as we had never tried Yemeni food before. It was our first time trying it, and we can confidently say it won't be the last. The man serving our table was incredibly friendly and approachable, and the food was simply amazing. As a starter, he brought us a delicious lamb soup before our actual order, which was packed with flavour. Moreover, the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were excelent. We wholeheartedly recommend this place, and it will definitely be our go-to spot every time we travel to Wales.”

“Had a lovely experience at Vivo Latino!! Came on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted so nicely by the owner, who made us some lovely margaritas and advised us on what to eat. Service was quick and food was yummy. The enchiladas and quesadillas were great!!! The churros were also crispy, fresh, and light as they should be. So happy with our meal. Worth the stop if you’re in the neighborhood!”
